    Men have always been taught that respect is something you give to women but for men it has to be earned. I think therein lies some of today's problems.

      My parents raised me in the belief that women should be put on a pedestal. That was back in the 60s.
      I didn't learn until later in life (the 90s) that most women don't deserve to be put on a pedestal.
      Feminism is the culprit.

      Every person deserves basic human respect, sure, but beyond that, it definitely should be earned. Sure, it's nice to think about chivalry and men standing up to offer seats to ladies, but that's another time in history, when most women were more deserving and needful of such considerations.

    • @VickysStuff
      @VickysStuff 6 років тому +23

      That's because your parents (assuming they grew up in the 30's/40's and were taught ideals from parents who lived around the turn of the century) were used to a society that held to the ideas that women were caretakers of the home, and men the providers. Women were seen as more fair and fragile, something to be protected and cared for. Certainly not the way society is today.

      There was a time when I would have been that white knight!! LOL!! But never again. They don't need us or our protection and I'm happy to not risk my safety for any of them including the one I'm sleeping with. The less we care about them the better. Pussy is free people. What else is there?

      The biggest problem that most feminists, SJWs, Leftists, and academics have with Straughan....is that she makes sense.
      And those of us who share Straughan's professed passion for men's rights are wary of so many within the movement's seemingly bottomless affinity for slip shoddy research, like KS's hook, line, and sinker embrace of a patently ridiculous concept like the notion that happiness(whatever the hell that means)can be measured mathematically:

      www.cato.org/publications/policy-analysis/pursuit-happiness-research-is-it-reliable-what-does-it-imply-policy
      Further evidence that the shoddy judgment of our brothers and sisters within our own ranks in the MRM are going to sink us eons before our opponents on the both pretend sides of the political spectrum(they're really the same actors in different hats)ever get within striking distance. Similar to what happened to the environmentalist movement towards the 1970s:

      Feminism was accurately defined way back in 1965 in the movie THE GREAT RACE. Natalie Wood is a suffreget who states women should be equal to men. Tony Curtis answers something like this..."You don't want equality, you want a convenient femanine eutopia with all of the advantages, and none of the responsibilities"! I have remembered this line for 50 years, because even as a kid, I could see what was happening in the 70s. What always bugged me is that men just gave it to them.

      @Lawrence Dooley II - Men have always given into women. It's just that in the past nature itself kept women's narcissism in check. Modern western society however has made life so easy for women that their natural instinct for supremacy is no longer properly constrained.

They didnt come out fighting tooth and nail defending Anita Hill when she exposed improprieties committed by supreme court appointee Clarence Thomas like they came out against Brett whatever his name is. The feminists are hypocrites, so is this Karen broad when she excludes the fact that none of the female advantages shes talking about apply and are in fact in stark contrast how black women are treated daily. Women care about themselves, for the most part historically. Men care about women, for the most part, historically.
    Men just need to care about themselves more. That doesn't mean plunk their partners down and walk away, it means learning to say no and not allow themselves to be abused.
    Don't let them use sex as a weapon, take that away and you'll kick about any woman's legs out from under her. Men just need to sack up, be masculine. Be assertive.

      Ryan Phillips The answer to that is to not breed with a feminist. As men start to come together and stand up for ourselves and be proud of the differences we bring to the table, then things will start to turn around.
      I've been divorced for about a year, I've been dating and honestly I am not sure that sex is worth the hassle. That's not something I've ever considered before.
      It's not that I have been dating terrible women either, the experiences I've had post divorce have been better than what I've had in the past. Relationships come with compromises, and I'm just at a point where I don't compromise on some things, which is why my relationships aren't working out.
      It starts with the red pill community showing others that they don't have to sacrifice everything for sex or for a calm household. Don't be a dick, but don't compromise on your core values. Being fair, honest, and not being ashamed of ourselves is a good start.

      It's called Gynocentrism. Historically women needed to bear children and men needed to provide for them and protect them. That's where the diea of woman and children first came from. It was necessary for much of our history and in some parts of the world still is. But here in the west men and women can act as equals so if a man does not want to take care of a women he should not have to. Of course, if both the man and woman want that arrangement it is up to them.

    I have a story that touches on what Karen is talking about concerning making women's roles 'easier' leading to boredom, causing them to be less happy. An employer of mine years ago was involved in a group through his church that did humanitarian projects in less developed countries. His group gathered the resources to build a well near a village in the mountains of Haiti. The women spent 4 hours a day gathering and carrying water to the village. Once the well was drilled, the water quality improved enormously but the women still spent 4 hours each day bringing it to the village. A few years later, the group installed a pump so the women didn't have to carry the water. Water was available right in the village. The group stayed 3 weeks after the pump was up and running to make sure that everything was working well and to gauge the reliability of the well and pump. Within two weeks the women of the village were sitting around 4 hours a day gossiping and fighting with each other (physical, brutal fights) and a lot of women started having affairs with the husbands of their friends and neighbors. Early on, some women left the village, which led to more women leaving the village, some leaving children behind as well. A few of the original church group went back to visit the village 3 or 4 years later and they saw that most of the families left the village and, ironically, new villages formed that were about an hour and a half walk from the water source. Draw your own conclusions about cause and effect, it's just one story of one small village, but the trouble started just after these women became bored and had too much time on their hands.

    Along with the house hold appliances making life too easy, I think there was another factor at play. Women would get bored, so they'd turn to the television to fill their time. And what was the programming of choice? Day time drama a.k.a. soap operas. And of course they're filled with liberal content - women being sexual promiscuous, living lives filled with drama and excitement. Next to this, the bored house wife feels even less "fulfilled."

      @C Truth Those "well known phrases" are touted be feminists as the mindset of the evil patriarchal society they wish women to believe actually exists. But in truth, this "patriarchal society" in which you speak no longer, if ever, exists....like the bulk of today's feminists (only 8 percent of women identify as such, but they are a vile, vocal lot and cause for concern) , you are likely a white, western, upper middle class woman (or recently indoctrinated college kid) - the most privileged and entitled subset in the history of the world, yet cry oppression and espouse the evils of men at every opportunity.
      Telling women that "they don't need no man" and "work, work, work ....working at Wal-Mart will gain you respect a lowly man will never give you"....will only lead them to a life of drudgery, depression and loneliness.....what a horrible thing to inflict on young women.
      Men, as a whole, love, respect and worship women and non-feminist women (the other 92 percent of the female populace)....feminists hate that their anti-male propaganda is no longer taken seriously, as it counters their goal of power and quotas (without having to do the real work to obtain either), so they aim to portray us as just man-splaining, man-spreading, cat-calling, harassing, raping, murdering, feminicidal, patriarchal overlords...which is a silly mindset that no one is buying into today...okay, name ONE thing/right that men have today that women do not. Now remember, you only have to name ONE thing. This is all very naive, blaming women for wanting to do something else than just being a man's "maid with benefits (for him of course)".
      Blame greedy corporations for making human relationships nothing more than the objectification of others and one's self. Blame it on the dumbing down of the education system, blame it on technollogy for making people have access to misscomunication rather than undersstanding.

      Rosalia. I think your paragraph in the middle says it all "maid with benefits (for him of course)". Who do you think these men busted their guts doing heavy labour for, themselves? No, they worked themselves into the ground by the age of 40 to put food on the table and roof over the heads of their wives and children.
      I would like to have seen how far women would have got through history without men there to provide for them. I imagine they would still be living in mud huts. Ever seen "Bear Grylls, The Island" where they have men and women on different islands? I suggest you watch it as an example to see how dysfunctional groups of women are when they get together with no men around.
      There was an inevitability of a woman's life of marriage, babies and being a home maker. But to suggest a man's life was any better is fanciful bordering on delusional. Busting his guts from the age of 10, dying at 40 from overwork, that is if he doesn't get sent off to war as canon fodder before then.
      Modern western society is the wealthiest, most free and most privileged in the history of human civilisation. Feminists are incapable of acknowledging this.

    With messages being spread like "the future is female" and books and debates being published and held, talking about how the male half of the human race is obsolete, I could not care less about female happiness. The gender empathy gap favouring women and girls is real and measurable. The culture values women and girls over men and boys and prioritises their needs and concerns. The culture is dead silent on men's needs and concerns, to the point where the problems facing men and boys (like the boy crisis in education and fatherlessness etc) threatens to destroy society. Our institutions reflect the gynocentric bias of our culture and there is systemic marginalisation of men and boys. The sentencing gap (which remains even after controlling for a number of variables) and the disparity in health funding (despite men living shorter lives and having a higher disease burden) between the sexes being two clear examples.
    Far more men commit suicide and do hazardous and dirty work at night and in remote locations, often at the expense of their health and well-being to provide for others or at low pay. Men are the majority of our homeless. Male victims of domestic violence and rape are airbushed out of existence because society does not want to hear about it and there is no support for them.
    Men live considerably shorter lives, have a higher disease burden, get alienated from their children and financially raped in divorce and the list goes on and on.
    Feminist women go to lectures on men's issues and sing cry me a river to men talking about male suicide.
    Women can wallow in misery of their own making and men can go their own way and pursue their own happiness and dreams for once.
    A word of advice to women- Stop complaining and start taking responsibility for the choices you have made individually and collectively as a group over the last 50 years. If men had done what women had done over the last 50 years, we both know the message from women to men would be to man up and quit complaining, as it almost always is.
    Woman up! You are strong and independent women who don't need no man remember? A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle remember? Time to walk the talk.

    I do think that as technology made the life of the 50's and 60's housewife "too" easy to the point that many women began to feel they had no purpose that there needed to be a renegotiation of gender roles. It's just too bad that it had to be a contentious one that blamed men and asserted that they had intentionally done this to oppress their women. Of course this also gave rise to a new strand of traditional conservatives; women who LIKED the easy life and men who liked providing them with it. And that is my main problem with trad-cons--they are every bit as gynocentric as feminists.

    • @FreshwaterSquid77
      @FreshwaterSquid77 6 років тому +11

      You know, that's actually kind of an internal debate I've been having lately. Since gynocentrism is so innate should we just go back to the tradcon way of thinking, in which men at least were honored and respected? How much should we swim against the tide and challenge gynocentrism? I guess my biggest problem is that gynocentrism is just so unnecessary in our modern environment, and yet it lingers because most people are unaware of it and as you state it allows feminists to get all sorts of special treatment for women and most people to not see a problem with it. It's kind of like how our natural instinct to eat the richest food in the environment served us well during the stone age but now in an environment replete with all the ice cream, pizza, and bacon cheeseburgers a person could want that instinct is causing a huge problem with our health. But, if it's a choice between the feminists and the tradcons I'll take the tradcons any day.

    • @roca967
      @roca967 6 років тому +5

      My thought is that most people will exhibit traditional gender roles and so it's a useful guideline (I figure the only reason we have words like masculinity and femininity is to describe typical behavior). I find it a bit funny that some of the feminist-indoctrinated women I know show all kinds of traits that make me think "you would be such a great housemaker and wife" - if she didn't buy into the idea that it was somehow beneath her.
      I think your instinct analogy is a good one - any instinct serves a good and useful purpose, but can go too far and become damaging. I still like best the ideal of the gender differences being complementary and also they make more sense to me in the context of raising children. I don't see any reason I can't strive for that ideal while at the same time rejecting when natural gynocentrism is hijacked by demented feminists to corrupt minds with nonsense like an invisible patriarchy that's oppressed women since the dawn of time.

    • @StarWarsomania
      @StarWarsomania 6 років тому +7

      Natufian Grain Harvest since the internet removes all tone and facial cues, I will make this clear up front - I'm not being a confrontational asshat, but asking legit questions.
      Why is gynocentrism necessarily a bad thing? If a man and woman both wish for the 2010s "easy housewife life" model, who are you or anybody else to say it is wrong? After all, it's not like men's lives haven't gotten easier too - hours worked per week was almost 60 in 1900, doing grueling, horrible jobs. It means that families can have true leisure time together in the evenings or on weekends if the woman isn't spending 14 hours a day cleaning and cooking. It means that women can participate in charity or other nonprofit work (like PTAs). Again, as long as both people want it.
      It seems very odd to me that there is a growing movement to act like core human nature does not exist, in all sorts of ways from veganism (yes, actually, humans are designed to eat meat) to communism (no, actually, humans aren't interchangeable cogs in a machine), and this complaint falls into this. There is hardwired into our DNA a desire for men to protect and to "go out and get the bacon", and for women to be protected and provided for at home so they can raise the progeny of both men and women in peace, and those who feel these desires and act on them shouldn't be shamed for it any more than those who chose to act outside this dichotomy.
      And I really can't help but feel that the core of this complaint really boils down to: *"Those people over there are doing things I don't personally approve of even though it isn't affecting me in any way - stop them."*

    • @FreshwaterSquid77
      @FreshwaterSquid77 6 років тому +3

      StarWarsomania I don't take challenges to any statement I make badly as long as they don't get personal. I always welcome discussion.
      So, if a married couple are happy with their arrangement and it works for them I have no problen with it whatsoever. It was actually many women who began to feel bored and lacking purpose who began to speak out, and some interpreted their situation (with no small amount of nudging by the feminists) as their men intentionally oppressing them and keeping them from reaching their full potential when the reality was that their men (for the most part) just wanted to give their women a good life. However, I do think that if women hadn't complained first some men would have possibly started resenting how much easier their wives seemingly had it. So the feminists began to push for women to have their own careers. Meanwhile the trad-cons were saying "No. Women belong in the home and it's men's job to go out and bring home the bacon." Both the feminists and the trad-cons are interested in telling other people how to live. Meanwhile I'm perfectly fine with letting each couple figure out their own division of labor.
      I do, however, have a problem with gynocentrism in our modern environment. Well, I don't necessarily have a problem with gynocentrism itself because it's an innate instinct that once served a very useful purpose. You and I are alive because our ancestors were gynocentric. What I do have a problem with is gynocentric BEHAVIOR and overtly gynocentric attitudes. Gynocentrism is vestigial and in our modern environment is at best unnecessary and at worst quite harmful to society, often even to women themselves.
      When you start talking about things like veganism, communism, etc I think you make a few mistakes. I will agree; I don't like it when people deny obvious facts about human nature, either. But it seems that you are falling into an appeal to nature fallacy when you talk about veganism. Yes, humans "in the wild" so to speak do behave like omnivores. That doesn't mean that a vegan diet can't actually be a superior one. Humans have migrated to and learned to survive in all kinds of different environments and we did begin to utilize meat in order to survive, however, if you really look at it's effect on the human body it's a little rough. It's dirty fuel that we actually still aren't terribly well-adapted to. There is strong evidence that a whole foods plant-based diet is the way to go for optimal health. Even if you don't believe what I'm saying regarding veganism surely you can agree that our instinct to gorge ourselves on rich food is a harmful one in our modern environment. Our instincts don't always guide us in the right direction.
      As for communism; actually primitive hunter-gatherer bands were communist to an extent. The left/right politics that exists today has always been with us in terms of the share/don't share tension that our ancestors had to hash out amongst themselves 20K years ago, but they all did have to share to an extent. The sort of privacy and right to hoard without being compelled to share that libertarians want wouldn't have even been possible in the Stone Age. In a way the libertarians are the "less natural" ones. Communism's problem is that it just tries to do it on a WAY too large scale.

      Tamy Tee Hahaha the cost of daycare and nannies probably outweighs the money these women bring in. Not to forget things like that extra cup of coffee, commuting to work & back and increased dependence on healthcare (which isn’t free in America) due the toll on health that jobs take on you. These things all cost💰which could have been avoided if these mums stayed at home. Plus if she stayed at home she could’ve taken better care of her home and family members. Keeping everyone healthy & less prone to mental or physical health issues - again leading to less dependence on healthcare system. Seems like staying at home is more economically viable and these people have been hoodwinked and brainwashed by the culture, again! Moreover, this is another way to get people to have their children raised & groomed by state regulated systems like school & daycare. Perfect method of creating future generations of drones & wage slaves. Oh and don’t forget more taxpayers for the government!! Win win win - for everyone BUT the people who chastise their women for being homemakers.

      @@SC-gw8np I agree and I also think about priorities in life. No way a person can think earning money for their company or even themselves is more important then having your own family and raising your children to be outstanding human beings. Even career orientated men have it in their minds a desire to find the right woman and raise up a new family. His career orientated brain wants to share his spoils with his future progeny to pass down his legacy to his children. Those men want a loyal, caring woman at his side he can depend on to raise his children and build a home for his family. Women play a pivotal role as mothers and wives and if I was a woman I would find pride in this. I would be proud as a woman that I help build a home for my children and I stayed with them to raise them up right and to be there for them at all times while my husband worked for us to bring home the resources that I was responsible for in delegating for my family. But modern society says a woman only has worth if she makes money for her boss or herself only... sad and twisted.

    • @SC-gw8np
      @SC-gw8np 4 роки тому +2

      Rick Rouse People definitely have the wrong priorities in life. They exude this ‘me me me’ attitude and rampant careerism is the perfect way to inflate their ego. It doesn’t ever cross their mind that they are only a cog in the machine and hence perfectly expendable by the system which chews them up and spits them out without remorse. They have no souls and money is their God. This fiat money has almost zero value and is backed by nothing and depreciates in value every year due to inflation. These ignorant people have no understanding of these things and are too busy keeping up with the Joneses. They sacrifice their family life & time with children to chase after this paper money which is less valuable than toilet paper.
      Modern society is toxic and encourages people to chase the wrong priorities just so the 1% (people who own the means of production) could profit from it. It is sickening.
      Being a woman I have always wanted to start a family and bring up my children the right way. I wanted to instill in them all the right values so they could be moral & upstanding citizens in the future. But I have changed my mind now as I think it would be unethical to bring children into this kind of sick, depraved world. They deserve better!
      I concur, the best thing a woman can do is raise the next generation and no other work can bring more pride than this. But people are incapable of critical thinking and easily prone to brainwashing & agenda of the 1% whose women/wives are able to stay home and raise their children without shame.

    Then you tell me this Feminist.
    Why can a Man's Girlfriend stay in a home and not work? Yet when her Boyfriend isn't working and she is now working, why does he get thrown out of his home instead of her?
    This is just one of proofs, Truths, you're refusing to admit. Being a Male in America, in my country, is the worst thing to exist as.
    I literally lost my job over A supervisor, who didn't even worked when I started months ago. Never had a problem with my job performance until she started working. In less than a month, I got three warnings from the same supervisor, her name is Coty by the way, we three other supervisors; one in training. Of these four supervisors, only she complained about me and my job performance. Why? Because I so good at my job, I personally believe she knew I was going to take her position as a Supervisor. She literally lied to management that I was acting aggressive, voilent have you; because after three warnings in less than a week, from the same Supervisor, you don't think I deserve to have frustration? Then to accuse my frustration as an act of voilent behavior. Here is another lie she accused me for; she couldn't find me for over an hour; this all happened as of July/19th 2018, I was stocking inventory where two cameras are watching me, yet she claims and management, who is also a woman, stated, that they couldn't find me. We can definitely see SEXUAL DISCRIMINATION here! It definitely was not the women that got sexually discriminated..... I can go on forever. I had two jobs and two vehicles. Had a fiance too. Guess where all my hard earned materials went? You guessed, all lost because of my ex Fiance. Oh but it's still all my fault because I am a MAN!

There are different types of cowards, and what you described isn’t a defining characteristic of one, it’s just the mindset among some who’d be considered a coward. The OP made a very simple, but good point. I think you’re just not familiar with the concept, so you’ve ran what he said through what you THINK it means. Please believe me when I say that the idea of showing respect because, among other things obviously, an interaction always has the potential to become physical, is an extremely important part of the foundation to any decent society where the people share a code of conduct which helps retain peace and civility. It’s an idea that you’re really only cheating yourself out of an interesting concept if you choose to simplify and mis-characterize it as you had originally done. It’s very interesting, don’t be threatened by a concept and just entertain the idea in your mind. All the best now!

In the past, women were supported by their husbands and the community as a whole in their roles at home. Today, whether home or career, her overall well-being is largely determined by her support system. Instead, we hear one side saying home is parasitic and lazy, and other side saying career is selfish and negligent. Of those I know who have divorced, I would say the biggest reason was an unsupportive husband who refused to partner and be a couple, but was content to do his own thing. This has been true across both home and career dynamics...in homes of feminists and traditionalists....religious and atheists. I have even seen it with homosexual couples.

    My grandma was a farm wife, mother of 6. Grandpa purchased the farm without her seeing it (he did well). They moved to the new state, he dropped off her and the then 5 kids at a house with no electricity or indoor plumbing, and he went elsewhere to work in the factories.
    Over the years she tended the livestock, had 3 tractors of her own, raised 6 kids, they butchered their own meat, raised and preserved their own food, she sewed their clothes. Sounds like a women who is a wonderful resource for housekeeping hacks, right? So I asked how she did it all
    "Simple - it was the depression and war years, we had a farm and family, and didn't have TIME complain, worry or over think things. People today live in their heads too much. We worked ourselves to exhaustion every day, ate the best homegrown food and slept well at night. Do not think about something, DO IT"

His views on the sexes are appropriately nuanced and successfully avoid the extremes which are the usual stupidity of both the feminist and contra-feminists (like MGTOW, PUA and MRA's). My own views are more subtle and complex, but for most purposes Dr Peterson's views are close enough to mine. Date them, bang them, bang many of them but never let them legally bind themselves to you cause you will pay a heavy price when the divorce comes, trust me

      If she feels like her love for me is dwindling then we can go on dates do many things like changing our sex position , let her take control , although woman always want man to be dominant even if she yells for dominance . In the end we would be like those two old couple from Up animation where the woman couldn't bear child and both of them childless but still the loved each other and their love lasted till death ...... I want us to be love till death ...... Me and u against the world kinda stuffs ......😗😗😗

    I am so tired of these postings about how unhappy women are. I am not unhappy. I shot and have never been a s tay at home mommy. The many women I do and have worked with are not unhappy. I am wondering if this campaign to depict women as being unhappy is an attempt by some to thwart the progresses women have made. Now I do NOT believe the advances women have made should have been at the expense of men. Harming men in some way is not required for women to have more choices in life. I don't know who or why the family courts operate the way they do. For the last 40 years or so since women have been in the workforce alimony should have stopped and child custody should be 50-50 or some agreed upon configuration between the parties involved.
    I do not want to loose the choices women have gained but I do not want half the human population harmed, discarded either. I have and do know many awesome people and half of them are men.......

    So is it - women were happier than men, until they became bored at home? Instead of doing something useful with their extra time, non-reliant on others, they discovered they were "oppressed" and found the great cause, ie. feminism, to give them a sense of purpose. Some explicitly embraced it, and others just spend their lives standing up to "oppression" wherever they can find it, in society (shaving their legs) or with their spouse. The the "domestic violence" industry came to the with a great offer - whenever you don't get your own way at home, it's "domestic violence", and when you DO get your own way at home, it's also "domestic violence" - and that's the worst thing in the world.

It was insulting how my teacher tried to convince me that I was oppressed lol. Like what!?!? I have never felt oppressed. && I'm brown xD so by technical terms I should be suffering by double "isms". Coming from a place of gratitude will always lead to a happier life than a place of entitlement.

    There are Alot of reasons for this.most of these reasons are everybody's fault. First this country was deunionized which led to anyone getting fired over anything. So careers....Lloll...became the main focul point of our lives. Where it use to be the spouse. Second we have 150 million new arrivals. So? Rents went up by 3 food by 3 gasoline by 3. So? Guess what more hours...of work. Our lives have been taken over by work worries of work. And women have taken a back seat in this. My social life has been decimated. I don't even think about women anymore. All I think about is how to hold a job. I know many Women. I'm sure are the same as Me. We need much more economic certainty in order to restore our social and intimate life.

      @Dr_Darkly to tell you the truth. I hate to sound selfish but I Swed my oats for 5 life times. So at 48 it don't really matter if I don't meet anyone anymore. But someone much younger they prob need to understand women today have little incentive to be anything. As they will soon prob run the economy. And have alot of power. Inapplicable to us cuase we represent a time where men don't break. But these men born before after 1990 won't have the social or economic standing to be doing things without conceeding many long standing positions to make things work with women.

    • @raybon7939
      @raybon7939 5 років тому +1

      @Dr_Darkly if your a dude born after 90 from what I see you won't enjoy the level of masculinity we once enjoyed in the 70s and 80s. Or even close. There time in my view will be marked with practically total compromise.
