Various shots of British troops firing heavy mortar shells in action during the Invasion. Shots of soldiers firing Vickers machine guns.
Shots of British infantry troops advancing - on foot and with tanks. LS of tanks in action.
Shots of German troops surrendering - the POWs (Prisoners of War) come forwards with hands over heads. British troops and tanks move on open ground. Injured German soldiers are brought in, some on stretchers.

bridge is crossing the Zuid Willemsvaart. Veghel Not the Amsterdam Rijn kanaal it's too far away,
7:20 Bridge is located 23km from Eindhoven, 40km from Nijmegen, and 17km from Helmond. Bridge may be crossing the Amsterdam-Rijn Canal. Operation Market Garden, the month before, had created a salient from Eindhoven and Nijmegen.
Location is correct this is the bridge at Veghel (23km from Eindhoven, 40km from Nijmegen, and 17km from Helmond) But it is crossing the Zuid-willemsvaart. not the Amsterdam-Rijn Canal.
2:21 Sgt Grant 12/10/44 Reel 1 (Sergeant Ian Grant of No 2 Film and Photo Unit). That this is first reel and we are already part way through the film makes me think these clips are remainders and are out-of-sequence.
5:13 one of the German prisoners acting as a stretcher-bearer is wearing the battle fatigues of a paratrooper.
3:25 Sgt. Grant 12/10/44 Reel 2. The "1" has be simple written over which suggest the reel change was done quickly after the first reel had been exposed. I would say we have raw footage from 2:21 on.
6:12 Priest SPG crossing rebuilt or braced bridge with unit sign "cc 43". "43" is British Field Artillery. "CARRUBBA" (?) painted on side. This seems to be "B reel" material.
2:22 Sgt. Grant, October 12 1944. Cameraman and date suggest this is Operation Switchback.
3:29 Light ambulance with wounded soldier. We are close to the action.
7:14 Sgt. J N Johnson, October 10 1944. Reels from different sources and out-of-sequence have been spliced together.
3:34 German prisoners. One appears to be wearing a camouflage paratrooper's smock. Some still have their white flags. Bit of dirt or defect on the lens is causing a flare, so the camera is pointed into the sun.
