  • Troubleshooting fuel and electrical problems on this 1953 Daimler Ferret armoured scout car. Fitted with a Rolls-Royce B6 4.2 litre straight six engine. It's been stored for years in a barn and the E5 fuel (ethanol) has eaten the rubber carb and fuel pump diaphragms, fuel has flooded into the manifold and rich running has fouled the plugs. Fitted fuel pump and solex carb rebuild kits from Bannisters plus some civi plug leads and N5C plugs make it easier to troubleshoot and tune. New dizzy cap, rotor arm, points, condenser and coil have eliminated electrical gremlins and a new generator panel and cable means it's charging again. ITS ALIVE !

Just an aside I use NGK plugs. Champion are junk imho, they often dont work when new.
