If the PSVR2 was a PCVR headset with controllers, 2K OLED screens, eye tracking and Foveated Rendering it would cost in Excess of $1500 just for the headset, I pre-ordered the PSVR2 within 5 minutes of the pre-orders going live in November, I then sold all of the expensive PCVR hardware that I had accumulated over the last two years because Sony look like they are serious about making the PSVR2 a success and will encourage developers to develop for their new VR headset, PCVR surprisingly lacks exclusive triple-A games other than Half Life Alyx, with No Mans Sky, Saint & Sinners Waking dead, Resident Evil Village, all coming to PSVR2 on day one with many others also coming to PSVR2, I just saw my PCVR as irrelevant, the PSVR2 including the PS5 betters it in every way for less that the price of a high end PC GPU.

@@635574 Both the PS5 and PSVR2 are not making much money on their own, if any... What they make money off is games and services. So it would be counterproductive to make it work on PCs. That's why Quest 2 had to raise the price, they couldn't rely on selling software anymore as many bought it to use with a PC exclusively and/or are pirating native games for it. That said, chances are the USB connection will be reverse engineered by someone sooner or later and they'll make it work on a PC.
I might get another little wheel and seat set up for my PSVR2, if Dirt Rally gets a patch then there will be no doubt about it. I spent so much time on PSVR1 tearing up the welsh valleys in my got to Alpine.
Original PSVR Bundled Package price $500 in US 2016 Dollars that included the PSVR, Camera and 2 Controls. Because of Dollar Inflation, in 2022 the price of the old PSVR would be $590. The new PSVR2 price: $550.
I bought first one to play res 7. I'll be buying second one to play res 8 😂. Which I've completed already but need to play in VR. Also switchback looks sick. Sony just needs more AAAs. If they do that psvr2 will be a massive success. And they don't have any excuse this time round. The headset and controllers are high end. Can't wait to watch my girlfriend playing switchback and res 8 😂
You need to know that the internet is full of trolls and disinformation these days. There have been rumors and hate on everything. I always do my own calculation and research before I buy anything. A lot of channels are actually created by people who have no idea of what the prices of gaming, gaming consoles, PCs,... were like the past. This is especially true for Quest 2 owners. They are willing to pay hundreds to just upgrade the uncomfortable Quest 2 headset to make it less painful. And then they say PSVR 2 is expensive. PSVR 2 and PSVR will never need any stupid upgrade like that cheap Quest 2.

Pancake lenses are still a bit off to be viable for the masses. Current limitations are: lower FOV (maximum is 100 at best), dimmer image for the wearer, lower refresh rate (75 - 90hz maximum), 2.6K max resolution. If these can be solved in the next 5 years or so then i think the next PSVR will be using those lenses. Also currently pancake lense vr headsets are retailing at the same price if not slightly more than the PSVR2. So time needs to pass to allow the price to drop as well.
I might cancel it if sony don't confirm if psvr 2 games backward compatible with psvr 3 headset. I just don't want to loose thousands of dollar worth of psvr 2 games. I already lost over thousand dollar worth of psvr 1 games since psvr 2 dont supports it
We're about 7 or so years away from a psvr 3 my friend. One thing you need to keep in mind is the tracking technology and the motion controls are completely different. VR on the PS4 was an afterthought, hence the setup complexity, and the clunkiness with the outdated Move controllers. Also, it is up to the developers of the game to offer the upgraded version of their VR game for free, an upgrade fee, or to make you pay for a whole new game.
So who's getting the PSVR2?
Already pre ordered
Preordered ! Good thinking !
🙋🏻♂
You know it
I have pre-ordered, two one for me and one for my boi. Bring on Firewall Ultra and crossfire sierra squad and saints and sinners chapter 2 retribution
I preordered mainly for the fact that I loved the first one, so I'm really looking forward to it. Can't wait to play Village, Horizon and GT7!
No Man's Sky will look amazing in it too!
Just GT7 alone is worth $550. I can play this game for YEARS to come.
PSVR2 is gonna be awesome. Spend your money on what you love. 😏 let's go 22 Feb yee haw
We had EB in the states until a few years back.
I think GameStop bought them out

I won't be surprised if someone figures out how to make it compatible with PC. It will be a great deal and sell a lot more if it happens.
If Sony don't do this themselves they are either under supplied compared to their console user base or just stupid.

Yes but there will be no Google Earth and no flight simulator on PSVR2. That is going to be a real bummer.

It's no different to buying an expensive tv to use with the ps5. Psvr2 is actually cheaper than psvr1.
Electricity bills are overpriced, that is fkn for sure
