Special thanks Drab Majesty and Eden
Smashing pumpkins always gives me this feeling of nostalgia, sometimes for things I never experienced...I can't explain it.
Yeah same here man..everytime i heard their songs it's like im back to my high school time
100% dude
That it's poetry
Same here, no idea how i relate but i do
You don’t have to... i get yah.
The sound of the Pumpkins... I'm 17 again. Thank you!
Preach 👏
I love that James Iha is back in the band!
And Jimmy too.
Me too! I wish D’arcy could. I think she has too many problems and Billy pro isn’t the easiest person to deal with. She’s also very stage frightened from what I hear. So that’s ok. She needs to do what’s right for her. Just miss the original band lineup.
@@tidalboxer Darcy's fucked up sadly the drugs went to her head
@@tidalboxer I didn't know about her stage fright. I wish the best for her. I'll always love D'arcy.
Iha played for A perfect circle, that's where he's been.
1979 meets Standing Inside Your Love
Instant nostalgic vibes. Cry-smile tunage.
This song feels like it was straight from the 90s, like it was resurrected , I Fucking love it
I felt nostalgic the first time I heard this song! It's like I listened to it in high school. 🤷♀️
same here...I suddenly felt he nostalgia from the very first riff, it sounds and feels so good
I hear the 90s too, and nostalgia just kicked in... I miss watching old MTV and seeing this guys on it
If it was from the 90's, it'd have a bridge and an actual chorus with a chord pattern change, and Billy would have a lot more variation in his vocal tone (i.e. more breathiness/softness at parts). The strummed riff is reminiscent of 1979 but the rest of the song lacks similar novelty. This sounds like a 95 era riff but with 2001 song structure, vocal melody, and vocal tone.
Reminds me of Zwan more than classic SP.
I was 14. Im 37 now. Billy, James, Jimmy.....thank you. So nice...
Same age summer of 93 Disarm and Soma!
Right here. 14 yrs old, ‘93.
“The killer in me is the killer in you.”

Good music never dies no matter what age :)
It's funny how time works isn't it?
This is an underrated smashing pumpkins song
Being a teenager in the 90's was the best thing ever and this song takes me back to those days.
Jimmy is still easily one of the best modern rock drummers. Easily.
Absolutley! He knows when and when not to play, an art now lost
Truth
Best rock drummer. That was a period. . .
Agreed, I saw the Pumpkins last month here in LI, NY and Solara drum sequence was incredible, pure music percussion eargasam
Jimmy is a real pro!
Man this is actually pretty good, reminds me a lot of the vibes from "1979".
yep yep yep yep yep yep yep
@A A its like a reflection of 1979 chorus isn't the same, but they as the original core of the band they sound really good for being an older band at this point.
and Perfect
Drum line is almost the same.
Pretty good? It's fucking great
Wow listening to this song,,, it feels like 1996-1997 all over again, their style hasn't aged a day.
5 days ago one of my best friends I made in the Marines committed suicide. For some reason this song soothes my soul so much. It soothed me while I was in too. We are both veterans. I don’t know why he left this way. Til Valhalla, Brother. 1997-2020.
In my opinion, what you said should have the "most" likes. I do apologize for your loss, friend. May you find peace....my friend, that which can only be found in Jesus. I would also like to say thank you for serving and protecting our Country...America is forever indebted to you, your friends that you've lost in Battle and ALL of our Brave Soldiers!
@@aimilios-christos363 I don't believe in Jesus, but someday America's debts will come calling, this is true
@@kevinjamesmith ....and that is ok🙂
I grew up on music like this, so I was randomly listening to a SP song and came across your comment.
God never forces Himself on anyone and neither will I shove it down anyone's throat, that's for sure. But...if you had a chance to, watch this guy named
"Atliyan Childs" on Freemasons. There is the whole video @5 hours long, but a bunch of shortened ones also on Rumble, if you so wish to see it. Have an awesome day!
Im so sorry you lost your friend. Depression is horrible.
@@aimilios-christos363 Jesus was gay. He travelled around with 12 bearded dudes and a female prostitite and never once banged her.
It's so amazing to see Drab Majesty popping in here!!!!
This is the first song i've heard from them in a while that captured the spark their earlier music had. I love it!
Same here! Brings back memories from the Mellon Collie time...
Reminds me of Zeitgeist era
Well it does have James back on guitar and Jimmy back on drums again. I doubt Darcy will ever come back so this is probably as close as we'll ever get to the original band.
the 1/8th strumming reminds me of the strokes
I like how Drab Majesty shows up and no one is talking about it.
Every SP video should just be James Iha eating cookies.
Glad jimmy and James are back . This sounds like real SP now
It just needs one more thing...
Pepper darcyyyyy
And they also look like a real band again and not just Billy Corgan ft. some other musicians in a live band
@@pepper5187 She will never come back. Between her own issues and the huge rift between her and Billy she will never step foot on stage or in studio with SP.
@@baneleaf7025 yeah maybe so, but we can always dream!
4:04 is a band called “Drab Majesty”. Their music is absolutely ethereal, look them up. Trip to see my favourite 90s band and my favourite current band in the same video.
I hadn't heard of drab majesty. Just gave them a listen. Holy shit they are amazing. Thanks for the tip.
Favorite band since the Smashing Pumpkins. I couldn't be happier!
It's strange they would align with Corgan considering his ideologies and social commentaries
They're one of Billy's fav bands lately.
Love drab majesty.
I'M SO HAPPY DRAB MAJESTY WAS IN THE VID. I LOVE THE PUMPKINS EVEN MORE NOW!!
Omg yess lol. Drab majesty yes yes yes ahha
Funny, I didn't think much of this when I first heard it. 4 years later... now I am obsessed with this song and Stand Inside Your Love.
It's about time they made a Halloween video with pumpkins in it!
jesus i thought he would never stop talking
that was L.O.N.G
We gave up!
That's sugar ray!😁
Jonathan Fernandes He’s amounted to talking too much and looking animated before a SP video of a hybrid song taken from Melancholy and the Infinite Sadness.. Tough times... perhaps he’s making an “I rose from the dead” statement as I think he was struggling badly for awhile. Who knows. It was longer than this response though.
Ne Ri The delivery was strong and encouraging, classic barkism, but if you were wanting instant gradification, it may have been enraging, still, addrenalin was administered.
This song is CAZY GOOD if it was the 90’s it would top the charts....too bad people just don’t recognize good music now a days
That's the Sugar Ray guy in the beginning. Awesome tunes as well!
This song have 1979 kind of vibes
yes! I was thinking of that song too... sigh...
Not at all...
More like Perfect
"has" (coughs loudly).
Seriously though, learn some grammar please.
Maybe English is not his or her first language, you twat.
This brings me back to the '90s...good times, damn good times
Good Times true
90s😭want to go back in time
Mr Corgan is 52 now.
I'm 40.
God bless you Mr Corgan
I’m about the same born in 79. Where’s d’arcy?
mrs_cat6234 yikes
Nino Mediera ..im 41..time fliessss
Age means nothing..
Goosebumps...this could be a trilogy along with 1979 and Perfect.
This album was brilliant. Been a fan for a long time. Their reunion tour was the best show I've ever seen and this album kills.
The Pumpkins have been apart of my life since I was 13....I’m 42 now. Can’t believe they are still making new music.
This song is perfect for Autumn and Halloween!!
Jeez, 20 years later and he's still got the voice of a rockstar! My aunt and I always listen to Smashing Pumpkin's when I was growing up. She would be so happy to hear this if she could. :)
I'm sure she can
Billy’s mind never fails to amaze me
You're very easily amaz --- LOOK,SHINY BALL!
The '90s are back!
L O L
No they're not
this song is decent with a lame video, 2 minutes of that gaylord from sugar ray introducing it?the original video with just the lyrics on screen was far better and didnt have the cringe factor
TheRetroGamest in bloom from nirvana, it had 2 videos.
Skip to minute 2:08. You are welcome.
thank you
Show some respect to Mark McGrath, Sugar Ray
THANKS!!!
@@kyloren7070, damn homie, watch out tho.🚫🚫 She burned my dude tho. 💯
Sugar Gay is a bitch
Only Smashing Pumpkins can make me cry my own tears 😢 😭 🤧
Who else's tears would you cry? If someone else's tears start coming out of your eyes then maybe your face is haunted.
I love when I run into one of my favorite creators that loves the same music as me ⭐️
Who else tears are you crying. Comments like that let me know the great ganja lord is at work
they are back ❤
*DRAB MAJESTY*
I never dreamed in 2019 2 minutes and 8 seconds of my life would be held hostage by Mark McGrath and Billy Corgan would be to blame...
Karl R. Lamberg lmfao I’m crying bc it’s so true 😂😂😂
Haha true
Ya know.... im not even gonna complain. Mark is kind of funny.. its a little treat in these tricky times. Be Well.
I just watched it in 2020. I think his speech just gave me covid
This..
Nobody can explain the feeling of happiness and nostalgia at the same time that Smashing Pumpkins makes you feel. But I understand what many want to refer to, that feeling that makes your skin crawl with emotion. When this song came out, I felt as if I was as a child in my sister's room (who played them for me) listening to those songs from the 90s that made them great, because this one in particular has that vibe from those records. I can't wait to see you again May 6th in Mexico
God Billys voice has got better with age and James hasn't aged . Can't wait for the new album
@Alister Dante Everybody get older ".. i'm getting older too..."
He looks like an middle-aged Asian women, which is pretty good TBH. Good to see him and Chamberlin back.
Man just hearing this song teleported me back to 1993!!! I'm 47yrs old now this cant get any better.
Marco Polo fuck you dude
I feel the same way Marco!
Suddenly I'm back in highschool.
It sounds like something off of the 'Melancholy' album.
Same here..
This song is very underrated... Been listening to smashing pumpkins alot lately 👌 one regret I'll always have is that I wish I appreciated them more when I was younger.
Everything that has ever happened is underrated
Well, I see I'll be buying my first Pumpkins CD since Machina.
Great sound, great to see Billy, James and Jimmy back together. The way it should be!
Pedro Alves its very underrated tbh
Zeitgeist is also a badass record
Oceania is fantastic. I actually prefer the second half too
It was a big let down innit
I am in love with the nostalgic vibe!!
I'm in love with your appearance.
@@Bereqe Oh. Thanks!
Another Pumpkins Fan, awesome...
Bit of Pumpkins magic there. About time!
Drab Majesty are so gorgeous here!
I heard this track on the radio at my job. I knew it was the pumpkins by the way it sounded but didn't know of it was from 1993 or if it were new... that's how good it is
There’s that smashing pumpkins sound again!
*sounds more like Zwan (circa 2003), than Pumpkins (circa 90's)..but the video's good (except for sugar ray's long winded monologue) in that it finally depicts a halloween theme for the 'smashing pumpkins' ~ only took 30 years to put those 2 things together!
Plushterror2863 such a true statement.
Shake down two zero one nine......now this reminds me of the Pumpkins I fell in love with growing up! Takes me back to the early 90s.....no cell phones, no email, no internets! I loved it and I love this new song!
He said watching the video on his phone using the internet 😪 please stop bitching about newer technology...
I wish we could ALL go back
no internet? speak yourself I had internet back then
AS someone that grew up with Corgan... this is a God DAmn anthem to middle age! How can anyone not see this?
Definitely their best post 2000 song.
It's 2018 and smashing pumpkins are still making music videos.
Lil Cheetah same
And WPC is directing them too
It's 2018 and Paul McCartney is still making music videos. So, what?
It's a good music video too, a lot of bands that started in the 90's are starting to just cop out and shit out "lyric videos" like we care about them
you're missing the point. bands of their generation just aren't doing so. mostly because Billy's contemporaries are dead, burnt out, or washed up.
Was there a few easter eggs in here starting with the rat in the cage???
Misty the Samoyed dude!
despite all its rage, it died as a rat in a cage
Symbolism everywhere of the bands journey?
Some Harry Potter and Disney references on the newspaper ads.
1979 views on the live stream :)
Such a fantastic song by one of the GOATS
this is the equivalent of a modern "1979" for my generation. Thank you billy for this master piece 👍❤
The smashing pumpkins are back???
it must be October
Henry TheGreatAmerican ouch
where they have always been...
I bet the idea for the so-much-talking was Billy's...
It just got real at 2:09 😁
it's November
Song starts at 2:07
isn't it a waste of time if every time you listen to the song you waste 2 minutes of your life not listening to music, but to some guy rambling
Buddy you know this is not the only version? There is the song minus the intro
it's not like my comment was in any way meant to be offensive to an individual, go be warriors somewhere else
Well you know what, pal? Your comment was offensive. Reported.
oh no, please do not report me or I will cry
I was looking for this song 🎶. I really like this one, it reminds me of 1979
This makes me miss my youth so much.....the '90s were so fun and carefree. Best times of my life and the Pumpkins were the soundtrack to it all
This song was made for the radio.
Yes. That's why it's called a single..
I love that they did a Halloween themed video! Their music will always be incredible, no matter at what age they made it. Love 🎃🖤
I hope they bring this song back for their next tour setlist. One of the greatest songs they've made since the early 2000s
So nice having you here.
This song should be 10 minutes longer
IM SO HAPPY!!! SO EXCITED FOR THE NEW ALBUM!!
wow! its actually THAT good :O
And so it is. TSP shall have a killer song with video every Halloween 👻
So hyped for the new album! Was about to go to bed than this popped up so you know I had to click on it right away.
Bright Blind I was about to go to bed then I pooped my pants
When life confuses, darkness surrounds and mine enemies are beset on all sides - it's good to know the Pumpkins are there to lift my spirit.
SP is one of those bands that helps to deal with depression
Always my Halloween go-to song each year
Good song. Keep it up , you guys are still body slamming it and it's almost 2019. We just want great music with the pumpkins stamp. Keep making trippy videos too
yes, indeed. it is almost 2019. **prepares eyeliner**
Is there a song coming eventually?
There's a new album coming out soon
This tune sounds like it was a lost track of their from the 90`s. I`m so glad that they still sound authentic and genuine. Also, this video is like some cheesy B-Horror Movie and I loved every second of it. I`m beyond happy these guys are back! As someone that was born in 96, this is my chance to experience the Oldschool Pumpkins (minus D`Arcy)
Smashing Pumpkins, you all have made good music my entire life. I've listened to you since I found you, and will continue to do so till I'm gone. Thanks for sharing your gift of music with the world. - Born 1989
Great song!! Total 90's!!
You guys are so wonderfully weird. Don't ever change. The Mighty SP for life!
Pops!
This is a lot better than the first single imo. 1979 vibes
Billy tries to explain getting the band back together again, and the 90’s show up
if mtv still existed this would have been on there,, damn you,,, damn you reality tv!!!!!!
damn this feels like the 90s so much how we need that era back,,awsome new songs coming out all the time back then
Excellent Song
Such a simple yet beautiful crafted song by the masterful Billy Corgan ! This songs takes you back but also pushes you forward .
Some have forgotten that he can pen some of the greatest rock songs , not I .
The ending “ I just wanna fly ....” lol...!
I love this song
this song is so..beautiful...would listen this 24/7
The guitar rhythms are fantastic. Great underlying tracks. The tone and mix is beautifully put together. Total ear candy and the backbone of this groove.
Sounds too much like 1979. And I didn't even like that one.
StephenAndrew777 well not everything is about you buddy.
It's not their best achievement. That's not the end of the world.
StephenAndrew777 See someone who has a brain!
In my imagination? I'm too baked for your drama.
Thanks you for still making me feel 16. Love you guys !
I remember I heard Smashing Pumpkins in a dream as a little kid and never knew they were a band till later in life when I heard them on the radio and I was like holy crap its a real sound! Smashing Pumpkins has a special place in my heart for no band takes me away from the universe and my own mind like Smashing Pumpkins 🙏
Listening to music I like makes me so very happy
Love Billy Corgan ❤️ Sooooo happy seeing Smashing Pumpkins 😊❤️
Best of both worlds...Smashing Pumpkins and Halloween vibes!!! I loved it 😍🎃👻 i can't wait to see you guys again..my 2nd time this year⚡
It is good that Smashing Pumpkins has the same sound that they had back in the 90s. Most artists at some point just don't sound the same that they used to, that made us fall in love with them in the first place. They lose that spark, but not Smashing Pumpkins. I love Smashing Pumpkins so much!!!
They are back
I'm so happy they're still making amazing music ❤
🤘🤘🤘
I love this track and can assure you that the new album has more moments of pure Pumpkins magic that sound both fresh and reflective at the same time.
I start listening to smashing pumpkins when i was 17 years old, those days.of my life are the hardest part because we were very poor and my parents died very early,so i struggle with life to survive...And now im 41 years old and after all my hardworks, i can say that my life improves a lot,now i have my own family,my own house,my own car..and its so nice that until now my favorite band continues to make good music.
The more i listen to songs from the Smashing pumpkins, the more i like them. It's like an addiction
I just heard Smashing Pumpkins, not just Billy Corgan
pat caasi The structure came from elsewhere, it is still nowhere, right there, so I guess it's theirs, but they share.
First time in years
Kingdoms
Of my kingdom come!
pat caasi Billy IS the Smashing Pumpkins. He always has been.
Up for Drab Majesty!
Drab Majesty my bro!!
Ridiculously brilliant casting of Mark McGrath in this video. Nothing better to bring back the warm nostalgia of the Pumpkins' original lineup (err, 75% of it) than a vaguely familiar face from Mellon Collie era alternative rock. His appearance is a microcosm of how this new music has managed to touch (albeit imperfectly) some of the same crystallized emotions that keep a generation of Pumpkins fans returning to their first 5 records throughout different stages of life. Simply put, it's ultimately about the music, but the imagery here highlights those richly familiar feelings.
