You're correct on it being "Feminine" La Signora is one of the 11 Fatui harbingers who are all named after the Archetypes from Commedia Dell'arte and share some traits with said Archetypes. Signora is a tragic figure, having lost her lover and awakening a power that burnt at her life and living off of borrowed power to enact her revenge upon the gods who she deems at fault for the death of her lover 500 years ago.

Less revenge and more bitter and angry. As well as completely dedicated to One God's dream of a "New World". As she revealed her true from and melted away the ice, the memories of an innocenct existence she once had but she burned with her own hands resurfaced. Her anger has always been directed at the monsters of the abyss and The God of freedom, and perhaps even the world in itself which is why she wants to burn it all.

There's a group of "villains" in Genshin called the Fatui, and all boss themes of it's members share a Fatui leitmotif. Signora, Scaramouche and Tartaglia all have boss themes with that leitmotif. Since you're probably gonna listen to them days or weeks apart you most likely won't notice it, but i just wanted to point it out

I'm so glad you're diving into Genshin Impact, it's a treasure trove of amazing music! I think the sad notes in this song represent La Signora's tragic past.
I have a few suggestions! Ones I made before and a new one: Ode to Azhdaha/Rage Beneath the Mountain (Azhdaha theme, such an incredible piece), Never-Ending Performance/Wrath of Monoceros Caeli (Tartaglia theme), A Storm, A Spire, and A Sanctum and Die Mittsommernacht-Fantasie. All amazing music as per usual :)

The Latin songs in Genshin are those of a group known as the Fatui, which Signora is a part of. They do not tell the Protagonist's story, but the backstory of the enemy, which is mostly only revealed in the description of off-story items, and the latin lyrics.
PS: The part that you remembered from the "Execution" part of Raiden's theme is the Fatui Leitmotiv, which you will come across in two other themes, those of Tartaglia and Scaramouche.

Regarding the motif you recognized from the Raiden Shogun video, it's actually more associated with La Signora than Raiden Shogun. It's presence in the Raiden Shogun theme is because that part played largely during a confrontation between Raiden and La Signora, and the music alternates between their respective motifs. More broadly, the motif is not specific to La Signora, but rather her faction, and it can be heard throughout the themes of other members of said faction.

I love this piece of music. It tells a tragic story of a woman full of sadness and rage who knows that her life is basically over but is being held together by another piece of artificial magic eating away at her just so she can avenge her fiancé by immolating herself and everything she deems responsible for her agony.

La Signiora used to be a Mondstaft Maiden know as Rosalyne, who was deeply in love with a Knight called Rostam. She was very intelligent and adapt in magic, therefore she left her home nation to study elements in Sumeru Akademiya, bringing with her a timepiece from her beloved that counted down to the moment of her return.
During her abscence, a cataclysm occured, enveloping the entire continent of Teyvat in chaos. Mondstadt's archon, Barbatos had to fight at the source of the disaster, the Kingdom of Khaenri'ah. Mondstadt was left to fend for itself, and Rostam was slain by a Dragon known as Durin.
Having Returned to Mondstadt, Rosalyne was devastated to learn about her lover's death. Believing that Barbatos's ignorance and incompetence was at fault, she used her elemental knowledge and consumed liquid fire, which tranfromed her into the a being of pure flame. She swore to not only take revenge on ignorant gods, but also to eradicate every single monster of the abyss.
Although she protected Mondstadt's people, they were terrified of her, calling her a witch - that's when her title "Crimson Witch of Flames/Embers" emerged. She was forced into an immortal life of solitude, which increased her resentment, Madness and grief.
Until one day, she was approached by a masked man, who told her about Cryo Archon's will. Rosalyne found Tsaritsa's goals most noble, which led her to eventually become one of the Fatui Harbingers, accepting the alias "La Signora". A cryo delusion - magical gift granting her control over the ice element prevents her own fire from consuming her completely. Because now, even the timepiece from her fallen lover, once filled with water, is buring with liquid flame.

It’s a great theme with western (mainly Chinese) influence as well as my personal favorite battle themes. Another one that I haven’t seen is tartaglia’s theme. Though not a great as some of the later battle themes, I still think that it is a great one.

For context, La Signora was a villain(?) who was once known as an ordinary woman named Rosalyne. Long story short, her lover died long ago and her anguish led her to use the art of liquid fire and transformed her body into that of a living fire, consuming everything around her, donning her the title of Crimson Witch of Flame.

The theme is from the bosse's point of view and her backstory is heart breaking😢
Before becoming La Signora "The Fair Lady", she was Rosalyne-Kruzchka Lohefalter, a young woman from Mondstadt (The starting area of the game.) Around 500 years ago she fell in love with a knight. After some time she left to study. While she was studying in the Sumeru Akademiya Rostam (the knight) died in a war agains monsters. As Rosalyne comes home to Mondstadt, she finds out about the fate of Rostam, leading to her insanity. After mourning, she decided to use “her life’s flame” to cleanse “the world’s crookedness,” becoming the Crimson Witch of Flame. She let liquid fire consume her, abandoning her mortal body. She only ever used her liquid fire to burn monsters and demons, but it gave her infamy amongst people and they started to fear her as the Crimson Witch of Flames.
Before she could be fully devoured by her own flames, Pierro "The Jester" Leader of The Fatui (organization ingame) found her and decided to make her an ally. She was given a Cryo Delusion a human made copy of crustals that give people powers) to suppress her flames and became known as La Signora, the Eighth of the Eleven Fatui Harbringers. (Group of eleven strongest Fatui)😊

    @javahikage Рік тому +2

Spoilers about Inazuma's main story but the song cannot be explained without the proper context. (Long text ahead).
Rosalyne-Kruzchka Lohefalter, alias La Signora. She is a cunning, prideful and dignified woman. She's a diplomat from a foreign land that the Main Character faces in order to access the Shogun. La Signora felt insulted by the Main Character interrupting her political meeting with the Shogun. After the MC pesters her enough, they fight a duel to the death with the Shogun as mediator, whoever loses the duel loses their life.
The Signora fights dignified at first, not moving from her place, and throwing cocky taunts to the player. Once she's cornered she fears for her life and in a moment of desperation she releases her inner monster and the elegance from the first phase is nowhere to be seen. She is then loses the duel and is slain by the Shogun as per Inazuman duel traditions (hence, the execution from last week transitioning into the Shogun).
The thing is that La Signora is a very tragic character, but nowhere in the main story is the player told about this. The MC fights her without knowing who she was other than an enemy from an evil organization. All of her story is hidden in flavor text in pieces of equipment and never referenced in any quest.
Rosalyne was a Fire Alchemist (not quite but for the sake of simplicity). She had a life studying in college and was waiting for her loved one to return from the war to make a life together. But her loved one died in a conflict started by gods, and when the news reached her she felt in anguish and swore to take revenge on the gods. With her Fire techniques she turned herself into a lava monster that incinerated any monster that crossed her sight. Years later she was recruited by the evil organization and offered a new life, as the goal of that organization was also to overturn the gods.
You can feel her story in the music. In the first phase she looks down on us, a person who's willing to defend the gods who killed her beloved. She's cold because she's restraining her fiery instincts, she's prideful and dignified because she looks down on any person who worships the gods. But once she gets cornered, she fears for her life. She's forced to release the inner monster she locked away years ago. She's angry and desperate. The icy boss we've been fighting in phase one turns herself and the stage into a blazing inferno, into a last attempt to take us down. But in the end, she died. She was defeated and executed by the same gods who took her beloved. No one knew who she was, and her desire was never fulfilled. A story that's never been told with a protagonist that doesn't exist anymore.

I stopped playing genshin a while ago, so all I have to say on this one is: I only wish they'd have given signora half as much development that her battle theme hints at, it's so frustrating to me that she only serves as a weekly boss that you have to farm when she could have been so much more. She could have been a mirror character to your protagonist, she saw the wilder side of the gods and rejected them outright, accepting cursed power even if she knew she would ultimately suffer all the more because of her choice, but her thirst for revenge wastoo strong, whild your character holds the possibility to embody all the gods at once because of the element change mechanics. I feel like with the right amount of preparation, build-up and careful wrighting, she could have been a major character, a tragic villain whose story is a broken reflection of the protagonist's.

Heh heh, I'll be expecting you to dissect more cool video game tunes in the future!
(Oh and as a heads-up, this and the raiden shogun battle theme aren't the only ones that share that motif you pointed out, but the reasoning behind these two being connected is different because... well, it's a spoiler so I'm not sure if I should say it)

That motif you heard that you linked to the execution phase in Raiden's theme is something to remember. It's the motif tied to an organization known as the Fatui, who Signora was a part of, so it's something you'll hear a lot.

La Signora is a Witch, member of the fatui harbingers which is an important group of villains in the game. She has a really sad lore I believe, don't really know because i haven't read about it. But I know it's a tragic love story.
The reason why La Signora's melody appears in Raiden Shogun's theme is because the two characters appear on the same scene.
Now that you reacted to the battle themes of one of the members I suggest you react to the other two members; Tartaglia/Childe and Scaramouche battle themes✨

I love that you're getting into Genshin's OST! This OST is legendary for the innovative and incredibly creative things that Yu-Peng Chen and the Hoyo-Mix team do with mixing modern instrumentation with classical composition. Motif and references to opera and classical music are everywhere, and it is one of the most immersive soundtracks out there right now.
My favorite thing about Signora's fight is that it really nails a major leitmotif that the game uses a lot throughout the course of the soundtrack: those first six notes that the horns play at the beginning of phase one is the Fatui Motif (it's the same six notes that Columbina sings at the beginning of A Winter Night's Lazzo, which is where that connection comes from for those that are curious). More broadly, the dissonance of a minor second interval is used in pretty much every harbinger theme that we've heard, and is kind of the calling card for them as an organization. They're in Childe's phase 3, they're littered in Scaramouche's fight, and you can even hear it when Arlecchino was introduced in The Final Feast. But that six note melody is analogous to the Bean Theme in Into The Woods: a basic motif that has many variations across the soundtrack that all use the minor second as a linchpin. It's really cool once you start noticing that Fatui theme.
Have fun diving into Genshins soundtrack! There is so much there, and it gets unbelievably deep

Okay I'll try to summarize as much as possible.
La signora went to sumeru akademiya (abroad studies) while her lover, a knight died in a cataclysmic event happened in her homeland. Filled with rage, she used all the knowledge she gained, she left her mortal body and became the *"crimson witch of flames"* but after being caught by the eyes of the harbinger leader, who recruited her and gave her a cryo delusion to soothe the flames, hence becoming *"crimson witch of embers"*

la signora has a pretty tragic backstory basically her lover/boyfriend was killed in an catastrophic event 500 years ago while she was studying in another land after she heard of it she was angry that the gods did not step in and in her rage she used an forbidden art and transformed her body in living flames after that she was taken in by an "evil" group (its not clear how evil they are bc they do some good stuff to) but they gave her something that lets her control ice but takes slowly her life away. that life taking has no effect on her bc due to her transformation she cant die of high age and the ice lets her cool her flames so she can restore her body but she still holds grudges against the god of her nation the Boss fight is way after that and has basically nothing to do with her backstory you just want to stop her from taking the gods gnosis (basically what gives the god their divine power)😅
in the fight her first form is her human form where she uses her ice but in the second her fire breaks through bc she couldnt contain it anymore
the fight also has terrain effects in her first phase its extremely cold and u take damage and in the second its hot but in the second phase she can move and where ever she steps it gets hotter

I love this breakdown and you're correct almost in all of them.
That part when you say that the solo singer feels personal. Because it is. The solo is supposed to represent La Signora herself. The lyrics she sang was her story. Of her love, to her lover, to her country and her God. Of which she was "betrayed". Her lover died, her country deemed her as evil witch.
In the end the high notes was some kind of vow to revenge everything to the Gods that had forsaken her.

The theme you recognized from the Raiden Shogun one is the Fatui theme. The Fatui are a military with which Signora is one of the chiefs (they're called Harbingers and there are eleven of them). Despite being from Shnezhnaya, a russian-inspired region (which is not in the game yet), the harbingers have codenames taken after an italian theater opera called "Commedia dell'Arte": they are La Signora, Tartaglia, Scaramuccia, Dottore, Arlecchino (which will be seen in Fontaine, the region that came out a few days ago), Pantalone, Sandrone, Colombina, Pulcinella, Capitano, Pierrot.
The Signora theme was present in the Raiden one because of the "execution" cutscene, which is, in fact, the Raiden Shogun executing Signora.
You're the first react I see that didn't go crazy at the insane strings/guitar arpeggio in phase 2, I admire your composer there, I'm not capable of not going crazy at that part.
Anyway, this boss theme, as ALL Genshin boss themes, tells the tale of the boss. This song actually descripts both the boss battle and La Signora's story and background. And the choir's voice there is insane.

This progression at 5:50 is so genius from the composer, it explains the emotions of signora in her lore, she goes from sad due to her lover's absence because of war, then it turns to happiness because she heard he was coming home, only to go back to sadness because she learnt that he was killed, then she goes mad (the disturbing chords) and finally becomes evil (the tense chords).

Here's some hints to your confusions with least possible spoilers
    1. There's very few absolute evil boss in Genshin Impact, most of them are people or creatures doing things they believe to be correct, and the boss themes' main motivation are usually to tell their backstories
    2. For most of the boss themes, the first part begins on the story of how you run into him/her
    3. For why the first part of Raiden Shotgun's music is the one of Singanora's theme, is because in that stage they were against each other, and then Raiden took over
    4. For Raiden, the game area backgrounded by Japanese is her home town, this is why you hear so many parts containing Japanese instruments
    5. You will hear similar choir in a lot of boss fights, they are the theme of Fatui, an organisation doing "bad" things to prevent something they claim even worse would happen, and they are the support of those bosses
Have a good journey in Genshin music :)

So, about that "oh, this melody also plays during the Raiden Shogun theme" moment you had at 15:20. That's from a cutscene that plays immediately after Signora's second phase. I'm gonna go into some spoilers, so feel free to ignore the rest of this comment:
So, we fight Signora in a duel before the throne, something which was done before by a friend of a playable character who rebelled against the Shogun's authoritativeness. After we defeat Signora, the Shogun gives her the punishment for losing: that cutscene is Signora's execution, and the way it plays serves to show just how powerful the Goddess of Lightning is, and remind the player that our attempts at rebellion are useless. She grants us, however, a prize for winning: the ability to leave her palace alive. And she's quite literal: the moment we step outside, she teleports behind us to execute us for treason.

If I could make a sugestion for you to review a song then my sugestion would definitely be "Avatar Beat" from the indie RPG-maker game called "OFF".
OFF as a game is a very underated sureal masterpiece about a baseball player who purify ghosts by killing then with a baseball-bat in a world made out of plastic, smoke, steel and meat ... and there's also a talking cat.
I just hope you listen to this OST without making any search about the game's story to have your honest opinion on it, but the only thing I'm willing to say about this song "Avatar Beat" without spoiling anything is that it's the final boss theme ... that's all ... have fun (^:

We challenge La Singnora to a duel before the throne in front of Raiden Shogun or god of lightning and thunder, and when we defeat Signora, Raiden Shogun KILLS La SIgnora because she lose and main character stays alive. So basically, first comes La Signora's boss theme, then Raiden Shogun's. Nice detail that here is somekind of transition between this two themes, isn't it?
