I think AMD's PR and marketing departments no longer need to prove or talk about how they're doing against the competition. They are at a level where all they need to express is how much better their new product is versus their previous gen products. They no longer need to talk about the other guys.
It builds brand value. But there are some people who still buy Intel prebuilts, or in general Intel cpu even though ryzen is better that's why amd needs to compare with Intel cpu to show the audience.
True, but this guy is from the OEM Mobile division - their opposition is Intel's laptop and OEM clients like Dell, where Intel absolutely dominates the market. For these customers it's less about raw power and more about efficiency, support and reliability. AMD currently leads in the enthusiast space, but that's only about 15% of PC sales, so AMD are trying to push into other sectors

Welp. Mark tried to get something interesting out of him but he's not really telling us anything. Also I can care less about AI and Copilot. the fact that he (the AMD guy) used the phrase "all day battery life" when talking about working with the OEMs seems extremely promising. Of course we won't know until they're out but that is a very specific phrase and if he seems confident enough to say it out loud then they must think it's a big improvement.
Here 1 question which I would have asked, PCWorld. Now that you (AMD) are likely halfway the Zen5-platform (3 generations like for AM4), do you still feel like 4x4 cm² for the socket is enough while Intel uses 5x5 cm²? If Intel would use TSMC for their next chip then Intel could outcompete AMD and AMD could not do anything to get peak-performance considering that 25 cm² is a 32% higher surface area than 16 cm².
When does AMD plan to fix the fundamental issue with AM5 chipsets that cannot run 128 GB of RAM at full speed? When all four slots on the motherboard are fully populated, the memory only runs at 3600 MHz! If someone buys the 9950X processor and needs a lot of RAM for their software, they won't be able to utilize its full speed. I understand that this won't concern 99% of PC users, but for the price paid, this seems like a significant flaw.

I find it crazy that amd will release the 7800x3d which is literally the fastest gaming cpu but wont release a gpu fast enough to have the same title ("fastest gpu for gaming")
Maybe they could, if Radeon were given the same love and attention (aka manpower and resources 💰) that Ryzen gets. But that won't happen as long as the demand for Ryzen in all markets continues to rise. AMD is still constrained by TSMC's ability to supply chips (not wafers anymore, fortunately, but substrate/packaging of said chips), so they're going to make the products that make them the most money. And Radeon ain't it, chief. Look at how Radeon sales have plummeted recently, despite their products being excellent performance-per-dollar.

Ultimately it comes down to money - AMD can buy X amount of wafers each year with the money they have, and they want to maximise their profit. They have to honour their contract with console manufacturers, which lowers this capacity by a chunk, and so every spare wafer after that is allocated to x86-64 chips (packaged into either Ryzen or Epyc). You should have asked them why they didn't include an NPU in the new ryzen 9000 series desktop CPUs. It's silly they are pushing AI PCs when their desktops can't even do it.
