I just have a little clock that i can press. I set in up to 40 seconds. When medic repawns (you check with tab) you press the clock. When its done they have uber. I like that i never have to think about it.
I decided to main Medic a while back, and even though I can win games, lose some, and top score, I still feel like I have much to learn from this video.
+Christopher Lombardi yes you're right because as a medic you'll always topscore if you're not completely rolling the other team or someone on your team is going huge
You should actually try to be a good medic and NOT topscore. That way if you're scrimming against someone that doesn't know you, they'll assume the guy top scoring on your team is the medic and will use him to count ubers instead :^)
pretty hypocritical to criticize someone for making an assumption "based on 1 example" and proceed to make numerous assumptions about them based on 1 comment
yeah i do it cause i'm lazy. you get a little less control in your rocket surfs but you'll be totally fine in 99.9% of situations. i recommend binding crouch and jump to the same key with a bind like this: alias "+lazy" "+jump" alias "-lazy" "-jump" bind "space" "+lazy" just remember to not use this on soldier (and maybe demoman and heavy based on how you play those classes)
Hey, Mr Slin, I'd like to ask if you think that use unusuals as medic is viable because I'm thinking on getting one but I also think that they make you easier to kill for snipers or other classes that see your hat.
Ive never really had an issue with dropping ubers... And I dont think it has as much to do with reaction time as ability to predict. One thing that i think has really helped me out is that I'm a solly main and I love to jump. the mechanic for sync jumping or tele sync jumping is nearly IDENTICAL to surfing away from rockets as a medic. So when I'm playing medic and I see a soldier shoot a rocket at me, automatically im calculating where that rocket is gonna hit and when, which is exactly what I do when syncing. It has become very intuitive. Second, avoiding airshots. As a soldier you learnt o avoid airshots if you hope to become good. And I dont mean have complicated strafe patterns, I mean seeing when a rocket is going to hit you, and straefing to avoid it. As a medic when surfing away, perhaps you don't want to risk trying to strafe around the projectile but at least you should find it very easy to tell whether or not you're about to be airshot, and thus choose whether or not to pop. Lastly, just know each classes potential. Know how much damage each class is capable of doing from any range, and plan for the worst. And of course, know fall damage!
One question Slin! Did you surf on private server (If so did you use SourceMod or anythinging else?) or did you play on online servers? Do you suggest any maps or servers?
I couldn't find a metronome that does it every 10 seconds, and the slowest setting on this one is every 6 seconds which is close enough. Basically when the metronome ticks I tell my team what the ubers are like (i.e. they have 40% advantage, we have 60% advantage, ubers are even).
Hey Mr Slin, how do I get recruited to a team.I am a main medic ,I have 1800+H in tf2 (currently 800 in this profile) and I have 16 y old like this is enough to participate in a team?
how do i deal with the twitch i have on my middle finger? i just drop ubers out of nowhere because my finger just twitches, and i feel absolutely horrible for it and it probably even ruins my play how do i deal with this?
again how would you say to increase healing/min cos in lobbies I get between 800/900 healing/min but all the super good meds get about 1100/1200 a min any ideas would help :)
You need to position yourself better. Always put yourself between two targets: one that you're actively healing and a second that you're ready to heal as soon as you stop healing the first target. This will keep you constantly healing and try not to drop the beam. As you get better at the game, you'll learn when you can drop the beam in order to avoid damage or save your life. Arrows may help but it's not as significant as most people think it is.
MR SLIN that actually makes too much sense how did I not think of that xD but I guess I pretty much always have pocket and demo around so idk I guess I need to play more and actually get into a team
it is but you really shouldn't do it if you want to improve personal skill. its like the difference between learning how to rocket jump and just using a script to rocket jump. if you script you pretty much never learn how to do it
Sometimes it's your teammates fault alone tbh, if he misses the easiest shots it's he's fault and he should try to think what he did wrong, don't just blame yourself for nothing.
No need for med school now
How do you glow shiny as the scientist?
you need to believe
power of friendship
Have no fear
10:54 .2 milliseconds is pretty fast, I think you meant .2 seconds.
I just have a little clock that i can press. I set in up to 40 seconds. When medic repawns (you check with tab) you press the clock. When its done they have uber. I like that i never have to think about it.

Top-scoring means very little competitively
+Christopher Lombardi yes you're right because as a medic you'll always topscore if you're not completely rolling the other team or someone on your team is going huge

+Snack TF2
How does that work, exactly?
lmao I was kidding dude don't bother trying to not topscore.
0.2 milliseconds lol. I get what you're saying though, lots of good stuff.
I feel that nursey misses a lot of arrows.
lmao chill
jesus fuck dude take it easy
pretty hypocritical to criticize someone for making an assumption "based on 1 example" and proceed to make numerous assumptions about them based on 1 comment
Nursey is a guy
no she's not
Aaa, thank you so much for making these videos! It really helps me a lot when playing Medic. It inspires me to play better and practice more.
Hey slin! I really liked your demo reviews you uploaded like years ago, would love to see more of that. Keep it up man love your vids :)
I'd be happy to take medic knowledge. I'm trying to get better, so thank you!
Thanks Slin, you've done a lot for the community.
mrslin, would you recommend binding crouch and jump together as a medic?
yeah i do it cause i'm lazy. you get a little less control in your rocket surfs but you'll be totally fine in 99.9% of situations. i recommend binding crouch and jump to the same key with a bind like this:
alias "+lazy" "+jump"
alias "-lazy" "-jump"
bind "space" "+lazy"
just remember to not use this on soldier (and maybe demoman and heavy based on how you play those classes)
thanks! : )
Things are looking good for the future
least this is better than ArraySeven
Duh
Everything's better than ArraySeven
he is a pub player... -_-
he still considers himself as a comp medic
+MrDeepDarkmindz wow i didn't rly know that x' D
love your attitude mate. keep it up. cheers!
TIP: try playing pyro a lot and reflect rockets. This will help your reaction time: (there is a game mode for that: Dodge ball)
Dat guilt feel tho when you tell your teamie you need to back up and he stays and dies :P
Why dont i feel guilty when i abandon teams

I believe he plays online, also resurfed is a great bunch of servers for new players and experienced alike
Why did you use footage of Nursey gameplay? I thought this is what you yourself learned...
cuz nursey can hang in invite
/s
+Grant Vincent he*
Nursey is a man
poopy loopy He's still a man
Born with a penis, he's a guy.
why set the metronom to 6 secs?
so slin can remember to start his uber counter
I couldn't find a metronome that does it every 10 seconds, and the slowest setting on this one is every 6 seconds which is close enough. Basically when the metronome ticks I tell my team what the ubers are like (i.e. they have 40% advantage, we have 60% advantage, ubers are even).
+MR SLIN i still dont understand how a timer tells your uber
Hey Mr Slin, how do I get recruited to a team.I am a main medic ,I have 1800+H in tf2 (currently 800 in this profile) and I have 16 y old like this is enough to participate in a team?
Bob the magic koala go play in pugs first, train yourself and know the ins and outs. Competitive is really different from a casual game.
how do i deal with the twitch i have on my middle finger?
i just drop ubers out of nowhere because my finger just twitches, and i feel absolutely horrible for it and it probably even ruins my play
how do i deal with this?
What you can do is keep your finger off of right click, and then put it on when you're ready to go!
you could bind it to a different key
When should I pop uber in High lander
again how would you say to increase healing/min cos in lobbies I get between 800/900 healing/min but all the super good meds get about 1100/1200 a min any ideas would help :)
***** ahahah rly u reckon?
***** ah ok ill try arrowing more then. Is this mid fights aswell
Okay I shall do :)

great vid
Great info, thanks!
Can anyone link me Slins updated sllinfireHUD?
www.mediafire.com/?z8biwbab608ri03
Hi slin, what fps cinfigs do you use for tf2? thanks!
Do you really need a mentronom? :P Dude, even i remember to do that when playing med in matchmaking, and im a noob.
Have you ever played competitive though? When the situation is heated and your team is getting lit you have no space to look down and see.
Mr. Slin, what are the surfing servers you prefer to play?
I love the ReSurfed servers! I put a link to them in the description of the video.
What does each beat of the metronome mean?
X amount of time has passed.
lol
So 6 seconds is basically 10%?
Thanks :D
Is that metronome thing legal to do?
it is but you really shouldn't do it if you want to improve personal skill. its like the difference between learning how to rocket jump and just using a script to rocket jump. if you script you pretty much never learn how to do it
holy shit oliver did something happen at school or somethin???
SLINDINI
Sup Slin!
Sometimes it's your teammates fault alone tbh, if he misses the easiest shots it's he's fault and he should try to think what he did wrong, don't just blame yourself for nothing.
Yeah but blaming yourself is a good way to notice your mistakes and how to better yourself
medic is easy
your videos made me a great med main, thanks
When should I pop uber in High lander
i dont really understand about the medi gun and kritz switches when to use it and that
