The community is growing. I am happy and sad at the same time. The more ppl join the better for you. But the community will grow bigger. It will become numbers. Heck. After a thousand it already became just numbers. I wish you all the best and do not let the numbers consume your mind.
I'll do my best, genuinely. There are so many people behind the numbers I've had the privilege of meeting already, and thank you for being one of those people :)
thank you so much for answering my question! this was a cool q&a, please take your time with everything, I'd rather get the occasional treat from this channel than only get a small flood once. your work is impressive and you're so genuine, thank you for the inspiration!
Just wanted to say I've been thoroughly enjoying all your videos! You are so talented and your art combined with the worldbuilding research is amazing. And educational!
I appreciate you taking the time to answer everyone's questions, as well as my own(second to last). I understand where you are coming from when you describe your troubles with writing the story and worldbuilding. I've been worldbuilding my story on and off since 2018 and I am just barely setting aside time in my thumbnailing process for the pilot(which is fortunately about halfway done, but may still take a while). Though I am most eager to read Immortal, it is best if you work at a pace most comfortable to you. A story with passion poured into it is more likely to succeed than one that is rushed.
The idea of making comics about past eras did not occur to me until I watched your videos. I think I should try to build a story set during the early Bronze Age. I’m not sure we’re to start tho but I guess I’ll figure it out?
7:45 Yeah, it does really draw you in, I started another playthrough a few days ago. Whether you end up focusing more on videos or on the comic itself, I will be here for both. Just remember that your well-being is of paramount importance to your works quality, so dont neglect it!(and also because its nice on its on)
I just want to thank you for inspiring me to write a paleolithic era into my own fantasy world. As someone who is intent on making anthropology my major, I’m a little embarrassed I didn’t think of it sooner. The theme of Humanity is foundational to the philosophy of my world, so glad to have found a creator that can give a different perspective on it.
Just wanted to say that I found your channel 2 days ago and I already watched every video, absolutely in love with your work! That's true for the art, the worldbuilding and the videos. Hope you can find the balance between the comics and the videos, and that you don't feel pressured to rush things over.
Thank you so much for answering my question and your answer has helped me in my own World building project. You have inspired me to dive deeper into my own projects! Thank you. :]
Woah 10k almost 15k, crazy how quickly that happened. I remember the original maps video releasing and being excited cause I’d only seen the intro videos and shorts and now it’s been a whole year. Wonderful work, it’s really nice seeing more people in this weird niche and knowing you’re not alone. If it makes any difference part of the value of these videos to the rest of us fellow Worldbuilders is just seeing someone else’s process and learning something from it. It really helps to understand how messy progress and development, but from that you start to get these little bits and pieces that come together and documenting all that is really cool to see just how your thoughts and ideas can develop. Seeing all your progress and work in not just the art and design but also the video processes was really inspiring, I have some friends that are also kind of into worldbuilding and so we’re thinking of making a UA-cam channel or blog or newsletter of some sort this summer and I’d have to say seeing this channel was one of the things that really inspired me to even consider this idea. So truly thank you for a wonderful year of storytelling. And here’s to many more. -jan Poni
Just discovered your channel, your world building and art looks super cool! I’m also working on developing the world for a comic I want to make, I definitely will be binging all your stuff while I draw lol. Congrats on nearly 14K! Looking forwards to reading your comic!
Hi, i just wanted to say that I'm really impressed with your work, and however you choose to move forward with the chanel and Immortal I'll be looking out for what you make! You are probably the biggest inspiration for me to continue with my own worldbuilding project!
Hey I heard you talking about human builds during that time. I getvwhat you said about hunter gatherers being skinnier. But that isn't always true for example inuit tribes who lived in colder areas where bigger because of their diet that relies on fatty meats. So those people that lived on more meat based diets will be heavier.
This might be a nitpick, but what's with the shaved armpits? Always seemed like an anachronistic Western thing to me. You've paid good attention to your characters' physiques, from their builds to their skin, so maybe you had something in mind.
i just found this channel, and im very interested in reading this comic. is there any of it out yet, or when will they be released? where can i find them???
3:54 there is unpleasant distortion when you pronounce the "S" in "inspire.". You can hear it a handful of other times in this video (19:08 "is so-so...") and pretty much every time you pronounce an "S" in the two previous videos published on this channel. It generally sounds a lot better in this video. Possible causes: recording was too loud, bad use of plugins, recording was turned up too loud possibly when normalizing. Possible solutions: record more quietly, re-evaluate de-essing process, use a limiter to avoid clipping when turning up the volume. Not sure what your process is or what programs you use, but Reaper has a Normalize/Limit setting when you render that you can set to intelligently master your audio to -14 LUFSI (I have heard anything from -15 to -13 LUFS Integrated for UA-cam) with a -1.0dB true peak. Make sure you check the box for true peak, because that is what UA-cam looks at to see if they should automatically turn your video down in volume. Combine this with recording quietly and (if needed) a denoising software like reaxfir (free VST for windows users), and I'd expect all distortion to disappear and all audio to sound clean and great. Check if your editing software has tools like these, especially the intelligent limiter. Though-it is possible that the "S" distortion is somehow something inherent to your microphone. It sounded better in this video, so maybe your mic is positioned differently. If this is the actual cause, you should experiment while monitoring your microphone input so that you can avoid all the distorted "S" sounds. This isn't normally a problem with condenser mics, but maybe you are using a lav mic or something else small. Good luck with all of that. Either way, again, the audio engineering sounds a lot better on this video. Loved the stone tools video and looking forward to all the stuff you will come up with.

As an archaeology student and a fellow world builder I love how well science and fantasy elements blend in your lore aaaaaaaaaa
I’ve always been a fan of your deep philosophical thoughts at the end of your videos.
Just wanted to say I've been thoroughly enjoying all your videos! You are so talented and your art combined with the worldbuilding research is amazing. And educational!

Your worldbuild is amazing, hoping to see more! hugs from brazil
I found that mayo tastes quite a lot like butter on a grilled cheese. I prefer using mayo because it's easier to spread.

Have you read the book series Earth's Childrens? It's really well researched and happens during the ice-age
Find it funny by the time the 10K video came out your closer to 15K 😂
17:56 I recommend making shorts rather than long form so you have time for your story :)

Might not join the Discord yet because of my criminally tight budget but... 'Least I can do is offer Tala a Fanta. :V
.
lol, makes sense that someone named Hannah Smith from South Africa wouldn't be too interested in recent history
