I lost my wife of 45 years last month, when I heard The Calm and the Crying Wind-I lost all control andcried and then I heard them single Alone, I really can saytheir music has been good for my spirit and soul. Thanks for being so good at what you do.
Dennis Settle I looked up the song because I saw this comment a week ago and I was moved to tears man. I wish you a happy life and wish to thank you for the song recommendation
Since it isn't already listed, the performers names are: Dave Simonett - Guitar Erik Berry - Mandolin Ryan Young - Violin Eamonn McLain - Cello Tim Saxhaug - Acoustic Bass Dave Carroll - Banjo
There is just something about this band I cannot get enough of. I hope they stay together for many years because they have so much more good music ahead of them.
This is really an important source for music. I haven't listened to commercial radio in over 20 years. For new artists, I've lived off gambling on youtube, napster, songs in movies, and NPR.
Planned my trip to Nashville a couple years back to catch them live at the Ryman, ended up seeing them 3 times within 6 months. Never a disappoint seeing these guys live!!!
My mom always told me slow is fast and fast is slow. It’s like the hare trying to keep up for me. These turtles move shiny. They move fast in a humble way that is refreshing and awesome. I love these guys!
I just was so fortunate to see them in Ithaca New York and I can honestly say I was very very pleased and can not wait to see them play again. Have a safe and Happy 2023 New Year !
Winners got me through some treks in my life. Easily my favorite version and I come to all the time. Especially the gentle pluck of strings with the weight of the lyrics. “I could write it down, but that would be a sin- and you know how I feel abt sinnin’. Ugh, it gets me every time 💖
seen tbt for my first time at the mn state fair in 08, doing a small set at this pre show thing before their main show that night. i fell in love with their music and it has been apart of my life since
Can't get sick of their sound. First saw them when I was going to little ole' Winona State MN, then Madison, and then again St. Cloud, MN at real small venues. Thanks for sharing :-)
I love how far this band has come, they make music that speaks to the soul. They make music that makes you get out of your seat and groove hard, one of my favorite bands to see live. These dudes know how make ya cut a rug!!
these guys have been my favorite group for years now. I have been waiting to see them at the tiny desk for a while, as usual they played great. Great band to get lost in though if your looking for one to fall in love with. just all around great guys, and dave's story is really something special
Used to catch them playing down at Pizza Luce in Duluth back in 2005 or so. I wasn't old enough to be let in those days but the staff had a habit of being "too busy" to check ID's for TBT shows back then. So cool to see a local band making it playing awesome music. Had the chance to film one of their shows years later. They still play around Duluth/Minnesota. Definitely worth checking out if you ever get the chance.
Yes sir. Last time I saw them they were playing in Duluth, Mn and the opening act happened to be a younger Mac Lethal. It was a damn fine show for the big price of 8 bucks a ticket. That’s what’s up.
Saw these fellas at the Ryman a few years back. Charlie Parr and the Lowest Pair opened. IF YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO SEE THESE MEN AT THE RYMAN.....DO ITTTTTTT
They are so much fun live. My dream concert trip is Avett Brothers and TBT at Red Rocks. They are there 4 days apart next summer, if we are having concerts by then.
I like this music it makes me feel like I am outside in the sun with people having a good time. But its totally dark in my room and outside as well haha.
I heard about these dudes from a guy who was wearing a Trampled By Turtles tshirt. For some silly reason, my brain took me on a visual adventure where a guy is stuck on (not IN) the ground, and this gigantic herd of turtles are coming towards him and he can't do anything about the slow torture of slowly being Trampled By Turtles..... For some reason, I found the whole thing HI-larious, and therefore you have a new fan 🥰👍
I had a difficult time obtaining their last two albums BUT I've memorized the songs so much I need new tunes in my head. Please come to Eugene Oregon's MacDonald Theater soon.
can anyone tell me what that gibson guitar is starting at Winners? and as a stretch, if you know the banjo model that would be awesome. new guy to tramlpled by turtled here by the way. i reeeeaaaaly like them. i found Aint No Use In Tryin at random at a time of my life when it made more sense to me than anything i could think of that i ever heard. liked em ever since.
@@musicryandave you literally are my hero. I’m a hot club jazz fiddler in Chicago. I saw you in concert and said to the guy next to me, that is the best fiddler I have ever seen. I have seen a LOT

Anyone else just blown away with "Lucy" and how the Gong keeps on with the sympathetic vibrations of the song even past the end?
these guys have gotten me through some tough times.
Me too, man, me too. Some of my darkest hours were eased thanks to these fellas. They'll forever be apart of my soul because of it

In 2005 Pizza Luce was all ages, so you really didn't sneak in.
did they used to be a metal band or something and their gear got stolen?
@@chicodusty27 ...that could be ANY Metal band! Lol! It's their 'thing' I think :)
Fantastic band.Very real.
I have been listening to this band since 2011. Great to hear them in this format

Trampled by Turtles it's the best... THE FUCK'N' BEST
"Wild Animals" is one of my top 10 albums from 2014, there are plenty of really good songs on it, but my absolute favourite is "Winners".
Just got back from KWM Festival... discovered these guys there this year. Was I hearing things? Was it one of the best performances there... ever?
No. They are the definition of music.
Technically impressive, emotional story tellers, innovative.
Love TBT!!!
Ima cry and dance at the same time
It's hard for me to keep up with that banjo player using three picks, dude plays crazy fast with just one pick!
