Wonder if you could use efficient batteries like the DJI FPV uses but add super capacitors to allow an equivalent 100-200C punch out for 2-3 seconds when pulling out of a dive. Hmmm. Will research more, could be interesting.
Someone correct me but I think I've heard that lions with caps isn't in reality a good idea because of weight and the lions would have to charge the caps and drive motors so real bad sag. Can't remember where I heard this because I had a similar thought a while ago
@hoagietime1 You can use inductors to limit inrush current, but I just checked what a 0.5mH >100 amp inductor costs and weighs, and big time nevermind on that. Maybe best to use a programmable charge controller. Probably even easier to fly 12S but fly like a 6S and reserve the extra power for the very last bit of the stick for emergency punch out.
Isn't 1C rate = batts mAh capacity charge/discharge per hour? So a 100C on a 550mAh batt means you can pull ~5.5amps@6mins? Of course my little 2in ripper almost pulls 4-5amps to hover...and the run time is about 5 mins before I have to land. This also correlates to voltage sag when you pull more than that rating?
Merry Christmas Mr. Bardwell

I get maybe 3 min on my 2 and 3 inch
