Boris Johnson has "categorically" denied he was warned a drinks party in the No 10 garden risked breaking lockdown rules.
"Nobody warned me that it was against the rules," the prime minister said.
Former aide Dominic Cummings says he warned the PM at the time, and has accused him of misleading MPs about it.
Pressure is now mounting on the prime minister and there are reports the target of 54 letters to trigger a vote of confidence will be met in the coming days.
Newsnight’s political editor Nick Watt reports. Kirsty Wark is joined by Conservative peer Lord Marland, Delyth Miles from Grassroots Conservatives and former Conservative cabinet minister David Gauke.

Johnson is a liar. He seems incapable of accepting real responsibility for anything. He reminds of a nine year old boy making up ridiculous excuses for bad behaviour. Maybe I’m expecting too much but I expect my Prime minister to have some basic qualities: honesty, decency, integrity and a real sense of honour. He appears devoid of these attributes and is therefore unfit for this office. Shame on the Conservatives for promoting this charlatan to become their leader who has hoodwinked the electorate with his confidence trickster routine . He has to go he is a threat to our democracy .

The Conservative “party”, like their PM, look shell shocked, and seem to think this will all blow over. There are people all over the UK who don’t normally give two hoots about politics who want Bojochio gone. He’s cost thousands of unnecessary deaths through incompetence, and dithering over what will keep him popular (that worked out well), put the public finances in disarray, presided over the worst possible Brexit (ill prepared, fantasists in charge of negotiations, etc), and putting the oh so wonderful “union” they’re supposed to care so much about in jeopardy. That they’ve shown utter contempt for the relatives and friends of those “bodies piled high” during the pandemic, I.e. the electorate, by turning No.10 into party central and then lied and lied and lied about is just the final straw.

It might come as a bit of a shocker to you 😜 but if everyone was as pious/law-abiding as they claim to be we wouldn’t have had the number of Covid cases as we did/have here in the UK over the last 2 years
Of course people love to be morally outraged by the behavior of other rather than a bit of self reflection on one's own actions... After all we always want to think ourselves better than the next guy..
Whats laughable is the fact that you dont think we as individual arent at all responsible. The Government didn't walk into your house and give your father mother aunt uncle etc etc Covid.. _If the house is burning do you wait to be told to get out or use your own initiative_

English people tend to be gullible and believe anything politicians and Tory propaganda media say, even if reality says the opposite. Just so the country can stay USA lapdogs with an economy closely linked with USA banks/international bankers/war machine, encouraging people live in greed and debt.
Like how people believed that Farage wanted to leave the EU for the good of British people, when he was paying his foreign wife on tax payers expenses and hiding money in foreign tax havens. Then as soon as people voted to leave the EU he resigned, to leave people out the EU with Tories in power, who only work for a few rich people.
Nobody remembers UKIP originated from the French born James Goldsmith, whose German Jewish family changed their name to sound British. Who thought politicians after Thatcher weren't doing enough to make the rest of the world hate Britain. From Ireland one side, Europe on the other side, and the rest of the UK to hate England. Scotland luckily have devolution to give them more independent rights away from London, so they have politicians that counteract Tory policies. Scottish people now have free university and prescriptions, while England is nothing more than USA lapdog encouraging people to live in debt, with English students being £50,000 in debt.
Scotland can look to a brighter future away from USA lapdog England, and they can be more like the rest of north Europe and Scandinavia, with politicians who work for the people and society, and less people use credit cards.

    • @olgapavlova585
      @olgapavlova585 2 роки тому +10

I sometimes hate being English. I feel as if England is too full of Sun reading idiots who would die so minor royals can have free mansions, while we have the worst pensions and biggest differences between rich and poor in north Europe.
The Tory propaganda tabloids manage to brainwash people to think leaving the EU is about non EU immigration, but instead now we've left the EU we have a USA type culture, with hardly any white people in British adverts. Tories only care about making sure all the power and money stays with the upper classes, bankers who want our economy closely linked with USA banks encouraging greed and debt and their tax dodging donors.
Scotland seem to have far more brains, as devolution has allowed them to counteract Tory policies, so Scottish students aren't £40,000 in debt like in England.
Scotland have the chance of a brighter future by leaving the UK and becoming more like the rest of north Europe, with politicians who care about the people.
After the USA banking crash affected Iceland, they realise a USA type economy encouraging greed and debt was a stupid idea, and hope for closer links with the rest of the European Community. Even Iceland is in the European market, but we don't even have that.
As usual Tories make everybody hate England for reasons only a few rich people gain from.

THANK YOU...! I left the UK end of 2009 for 10 years. Due back 2020. WHY would I go back???
I needed hospital treatment in the middle of the pandemic - here they had PHYSICALLY separated the hospitals into two with brick walls and put in separate entrances and pressurised ventilation systems so the NORMAL hospital functions could carry on. I had 7 visits in 2 months. THAT is how you run things.
Then we had an election and there was no winner and everything went to sh!t - and we went from the best in Europe over covid to the worst.
That gave me a taste of what it was like living in the UK, total chaos and no decisions, no investment.

Why does Boris make rules, tells people to obide but apparently dosent know what they mean when he's at a party. He is talking a load of shite. Why isn't he answering questions and instead hiding behind sue grey? Answer me that.
He's a lying smerking disgraceful human being. As was his closet aide and colleagues.

Listening to Marland and reading his bio tells you all you need to know about what is wrong with the Tory party. The only thing that can save the Tory brand right now is the cold hard steel of the political stiletto. Acting quickly and ruthlessly is what is needed and as a party they have always shown themselves willing to do the necessary when required.

    I'm confused. Does Boris
a: believe asymptomatic spread is a lie and has people in lock down and masks for no reason other than for control?
b: believe asymptomatic spread is real and risks lives?
    c: Something else?
What is the main reason that people are upset with him? Thanks

Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to announce later today that most Plan B restrictions will end next week.

*We must really thank the UK'S Behavioural Insights Team and their team of online influencers for their part in molding the behaviour of the british public. Also not forgetting the british army's 77th brigade of the 6th (United Kingdom) Division, 13th Signal Rregiment, GCHQ, The Tavistock institute, The Tony Blair Institute to Global Change, Rockefeller Foundation, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and SAGE psychologists as well as many others I've not mentioned. Their tactics, tenacity and their overall ability to control the narrative by way of various programming techniques and by flagging and removing dangerous content, comments and misinformation online, is what is really helping us to achieve our overall agenda!
