I have an expensive Simpson megger ( also measures DC volts & resistance ) that supplies 250,500,1000,2500 & 5,000volt DC test to megger motors, transformers etc. Have picked up a ground on 4,160 volt large motors. Warning if you apply megger.leads berween motor leads short out the leads with a screwdriver. After using 1,000 volts to megget motor leads have received a nice shock with the voltage a motor can store gor at least a minute.

Thanks for the tips and the corrections.
Double the voltage, IR Testers use DC voltage
Double the voltage on a Megger
Precio
Wrong on voltage. Always use double the test voltgae to megger a motor. For a 480 volt motor use 1,000 volts to megger.
