Lotus root and pork ribs soup from the *The Untamed* | 陈情令排骨炖藕

  • Hello everyone! How are you liking Winter/Fall?? It's so crazy that this year is almost over and the days are getting shorter. I already look forward to the Spring! Today we are making a super easy soup and it is sooooo delicious with very little prep and work! Please do subscribe to my channel if you enjoy simple Chinese recipes from a Sichuan Native!     This soup ONLY requires 3 ingredients:
    Pork ribs 1lb
    Lotus root 1lb
    Ginger 1 piece
    THAT'S ALL!!
    It takes 2 hours to cook the soup so that the lotus root and pork ribs are soft and tender!
    It is nutritious and tastes so good because lotus root makes the soup slightly sweet.

    This reminds me of shijie from the untamed. It's so heartwarming to see they eat the soup together. I wonder if you watch it too. Can feel the warmth just by watching you making this. Hope I can taste it too❤️

    I just made a pot of this, but I add one dried cuttlefish, a big handful of peanuts, 8 red dates and 2 tablespoons of goji berries. I also add a couple teaspoons of salt at the end.

    I'm sick with COVID right now. And I would love to have a bowl of hearty lotus soup! When I made lotus soup, I usually cut the lotus roots into thin discs because I like to look at and feel the texture of the holes. I also cut up and add pieces of corn on a cob. I love sucking the juice out from the corn!

    I'm a little confused about where she added salt or if salt was added at all, because I really want to try it but I'm not sure how it'll taste without salt or other seasonings💀

      So salt is not needed in my opinion! Taste the soup without salt and if you would like salt, you can always added it later! The soup will have natural meat taste blended with slightly sweet taste from the lotus root! It’s super good just like that 😋

    since i am a muslim and can not eat pork..can i use mutton ribs or beef short ribs to substitute it??
