  • As the sun rises over a stark, barren desert landscape, you open stained hotel blinds and squint your eyes as they adjust to the sudden brightness beyond the glass pane. You catch a slight whiff of your heinous morning breath, careless about its effect on others as it's been nine days since you last saw another human being. The difference between day and night has begun to blur, as time has ceased to exist. Has this Christopher Nolan movie been on for two hours? Four hours? Six hours? Does it even matter? At this point, dear friends, the pod is the pod.

      Heya! Katya uses she/her pronouns in drag contexts and he/him out of drag; she doesn’t use they/them pronouns. A reminder that using they/them pronouns for people who don’t use them is not rlly the move!

    • @ellellio
      @ellellio 2 роки тому +67

      @@bbbotc I get what you’re saying but I used they here as a generic third-person singular pronoun. I’m not trying to discredit those who only use they/them pronouns but in English they is still inclusive of all people so that was my intention when commenting that “they’re attractive”.

    • @bbbotc
      @bbbotc 2 роки тому +9

      @@ellellio I understand that. But that is not Katya’s pronouns. This is still using the incorrect pronouns for someone. Knowing someone’s pronouns and choosing not to use them in favour of a gender neutral option is like… why? We know her pronouns. As a non-binary person, I find that an odd choice. I’m not gatekeeping they/them pronouns, I’m just saying that part of the discussion around pronouns is that it is not other people’s choice what your pronouns are; so it’s not our place to use they/them pronouns for Katya when they are not her pronouns.

The entire New Wave, ambient and electronica genres stem in large part from his work. Trixie: my suspicions with the attraction comments are it's related to your drag persona being mask-like (your words); people are simply caught off guard. Almost all of my furniture has been "hand-me-downs" from family members replacing or no longer needing it. I'm just lucky in that aspect. And honestly, the more I think about it...is there a point to it, other than it's pretty? Because yeah. Seems like a waste otherwise.

    True fans are thrilled you both are able to make money. You entertain millions on so many different platforms and in person. You both deserve to be well paid for your talent. Your hearts are sweet, your support of others is admirable, especially young people in need of inspiration. I was married for 40 yrs before my hubby passed away unexpectedly leaving me the sole caretaker of an 32yr old severely disabled son. We are basically isolated & home bound. You have no idea how much laughter and happiness you provide me, so I want you to achieve the highest success possible. Trixie is me back in the 60’s and Katya is my modern day Late great Spaulding Gray. Together, you are everything. Thank you ❤️

    I know you two think all your fans are rabid tweens, but you have a huge following in many communities and amongst many artists working in a lot of genres. There is something magical about the two of you. You both have really interesting astrological charts that are set up to reach large numbers of people. I know those rabid tweens sometimes leave a bad taste for you both with your fandom, but I watch you both religiously because you are really funny and refreshing. It is different than what everyone else is doing because it is genuine. It is just the two of you, each being your own magical, crazy selves. Almost everything else out there feels rather scripted in some way or to some extent. There are very few things I ever watch that I simply scream out loud laughing at. I get so many of the inside references (the gay cliche references and the movie and pop culture references) that you two make, and I love that. And for any of us who have done drag in the past, the backstage dressing room gossip is so familiar and just juicy to hear. I know lots of people who watch you both and your appeal is quite broad. Own it, gurls!

    Love that Katya and Bjork both love each other!!! Also... Bjork doing the immersive 360 stuff for years and Katya's 360 vid all coming together. Loooooove knowing this. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

I’ve been a big fan since and just when I think she can’t get any better she’s a massive drag/unhhhh fan lol. I fucking love Katya’s story and would have gone insane hanging out with her. Thank you for sharing it!!

    I love all episodes of the pod, but there is something extra refreshing about this one. It felt very frank and humanizing. Less like a production and more like a convo between friends. And the best part is that the more I watch these 2, the more I realize how much I like them as people, not just as artists.

    Katya’s right, as Bjork’s music has evolved into more atmospheric soundscapes, one may not respond to every song, but there will always be some gems included. Favorite Bjork songs from her last three albums (2011-2017). Biophilia: Crystalline, Hollow, and Virus. Vulnicura: Stonemilker, Lionsong, and Atom Dance. Utopia: Arisen My Senses, Utopia, Courtship, and Tabula Rasa.
