Using drywall skimming blades

- Skimming blades have made areas like this so much easier. They can be extremely hard to get full, even and smooth. This one is right in front of a huge glass door and needs to look 👌This is the second coat, still another one to go for Level 4 smooth wall.
And I love the @level5tools skimming blades, this is the 24” - Use promo code DrywallShorty for 10% off anything at level5tools.com

Now you’re getting it. Doing dry wall for 45 years watching you learn the trade is awesome.
Shorty you’re cold blooded! That’s a compliment for those who don’t know
Thank you!
Nice work. You make it look like it's second nature. 👏
Nothing worse than getting 3/4 thru the pull and have a scratch.
Buen trabajo ❤
Magnífico, trabajo de super mujer...
I welded some handles onto a 3 ft. and 4 ft. concrete bull float for those nasty level 5 jobs with floor to ceiling windows that raked light across the walls. PITA to use, but did the truck! You can still get some flex at the edge if you need to feather it.
I want one!
Impressive!
Have you used any other skimmer blades? I bought some level 5 putty knifes and taping blades, freaking loved them. Bought a kezers 32 inch skimmer and I honestly almost prefer just using my 12 inch level 5. I can't tell if its cause I bought a cheaper skimmer, or me. Seems to leave low spots, that I dont get with my 12 in level 5
I’ve used Columbia and Level5. Not sure about the other brand? I’ve been really happy with both brands
Is that the 24 or 32”? If it is the 24” that ur using what r ur thoughts on using a 32? I thought about getting a 32 but ppl tell me it’s to big and bulky rather it’s better to run multiple passes using a 24 instead.
I have 32, wish i had a 24 instead. Rarely do you need a 32 over a 24. If you have hand skills a 24 can be better than a 48. Much less runs over a particular section with a 24.
I use both, it really depends on what you are doing. I use the 32” for butts sometimes especially if they are super bad and then the 24” for stuff like the video/floating out bad stuff. It really depends on what your using it for. I’ve only used above a 32” like once or twice. The huge ones you don’t have the control with.
@@beerbeforebreakfast appreciate the input brother and yes I’ll take a couple beers b4 b-fast.
Yes! Finally someone gets my name! Id agree with the shorty about 32s. There is a use, like big o ceilings with alot of natural horizontal light. Then 32 or maybe beyond would be called for. Thanks for the reply friend!
@@DrywallShorty I just got the 32in tomahawk from Columbia it's nice! I got the 3-5ft handle and tomahawk adapter.
I have a job coming up to cover 6walls of texture. Typically I would have used my 12in knife but do you think this 32in or that 24in works better for this kind of task?
Bravooo
