I rewatched apocrypha with my sister after like 4 years and oh man, the amount of nostalgia the ost makes you feel is on another level, love this soundtrack so much.
Me too. I think this is one of the most beautiful scenes I had watched in an anime. As a christian and devout of Saint Jeanne in real life this meant so much for me, specially that I watched in a very special moment in my life. The FATE staff and writters, under certain parameters, done a very beautiful and respectful portrait of my beloved saint - and what meant to be a real christian, as a whole.

Man, I just watched Apocrypha and was astonished. It is nothing like other fate projects. It shows tragedy as well as inspiration. I think it's one of the best route of fate. And the bgm just made me emotional, especially of ruler's. P.S. I noticed another thing, servants here were of close proximity like rider overpowering archer :3 unlike any other fate seriess. And I liked it...
You are completely right, I felt the same way. Apocrypha just has a certain quality to it the other in the Fate series don't possess. Somehow most people don't see it since it's not as popular, but that doesn't change anything for me ^_^

Ok wtf, people keep saying UBW or the orginial Stay Night (ok, that second one is close) has the best Music in Fate? Apocrypha's music is goddamn beautiful and I haven't even watched Apocrypha, but from Hope to Affection to this. These songs are leaps and bounds above some of my favorite OSTs of all time and take inspiration from a lot of them. Most of the ones I've listened to so far have been instantly added to my playlists. And I'm definitely gonna watch the show for it's music alone even if everyone is right about shitting on Sieg.

People criticize Sieg for being a blank slate, which ironically is the exact point of his story: he is a homunculus who just came into existence and is experiencing everything for the first time. Of course he is a blank slate.
I always find portrayals of Jeanne d'Arc (or Joan of Arc for Anglo-saxons lovers) in medias deeply interesting. From its countless symbolic use for all sorts of ideological propaganda in France, to the endless debate of weither or not she was a Witch, or the Saint Savior of France from the Crown of England. Some even portray her as merely a maid who believes she wants to help saving people. Fate's portrayal, while not fully accurate to her character, not that we'd ever manage to truly know who she is as we only have records from people surrounding her, hell its a debate weither or not she was a beauty or on the ugly side of the spectrum by medieval standarts while Fate portrays her as an Angelic nearly divine beauty (and she took over the body of possibly the most beautiful yet innocent Girl around that happens to look like her full servants body lol), gives i think a good perspective of what the legend that makes her a Saint looks once personified, and i like it.

She really was worthy of being recognized as a Saint. Such a shame they shackled her to that cardboard. It really hurt her portrayal here and made her debut rather rocky. Glad she was done more justice in F/GO & F/EXTELLA.
I am not sure how ppl fail to see that Sieg was made to be her male counterpart. After being alive for a only a little bit the guy was overflowing with bravery, self-sacrifice and unconditional love for humans. It was really obvious they modeled him after Janne herself, just less experienced as a person for obvious reasons. And him being a homunculus is a really convenient way to have him born as a perfect being from the start. Basically like saying humans are too dirty, so it's impossible for them to be as such without any ulterior motives.

Too many Fate fans don't even try to understand Sieg as a character, his growth or development, since those weren't spoonfed to them. After spending much time on Reddit and Twitter it is very easy to have negative thoughts whenever someone says something bad about Sieg, In most cases it is their own pettiness, prejudices or inability to understand him, people are allowed to dislike him but almost never they do it out of constructive criticism or even their own opinions. Admittedly the LN and the manga flesh out their relationship more while Anime cut them off to be more "serious" and "story driven" but even so I still enjoyed their chemistry in Anime as well. Probably I loved the fact their love was completely pure and devoid of any human flaw or that she saved his soul and he became her strength. I don't know about troubles or anything but I came to know all too well what Fate fandom is (especially the Zero and FGO part), You could call it fandom of waifuism and self-inserting... It saddened me they didn't develop their relationship further in FGO just not to displease said self-inserts...
