Just watched another vid of yours yesterday, this one hasn’t failed to impress either. Great that you share both good and bad. Ronald hit the nail on the head though. We do just need to get out and do it, even attempting something either on or off road can be an adventure. 🍻👍🏻👊🏻

Superb video, 58 this year and just getting started with it all - skill is one thing but the drive to get 'those moments' is something else. Brilliant.

@@projectbiker i hear you, and i expect once done the voices of doubt will happen - but then that in itself will be a challenge that i will gratefully accept :)
Excellent video, pleasure to watch, top class editing and commentary. (Watched also shorter episodes )Massive thanks for posting as it is learning ground for my future trips, (perhaps similar set up) How did 300 do on long highway stretches? Were you happy with the bike choice? Cheers Pi
Thanks Pi! As I'm a beginner to off-roading I'm thrilled with the bike as it's simple and reliable. It's not the best on highways but it can do 70mph very comfortably for as long as you like, and then once you hit the trails it gets over anything and is fairly easy to move around. I added an airmax seat cushion which helped a lot, and I'm sure a taller windscreen would also be a good addition in the future. I changed the rear suspension as I was travelling with luggage and worried that I'd bottom-out the otherwise (I went with YSS but there are better quality ones out there).
@@projectbiker thank you for your reply and useful info. You confirmed my own conclusions, travelling solo you gotta be able to lift the bike on your own in any situation. Good luck with future adventures, will watch closely;)

Hoping to replicate your trip in September one thing you didn’t mention was fuel was there plenty of places ? What garmin ?have you got did you download to it ?
Hi Wayne, fuel wasn't a problem. I have the Garmin Zumo XT - it worked really well. I downloaded the gpx files to it ahead of the trip using the Trans Euro Trail website.

@@projectbiker Yeah I saw the other videos as I followed you, will check that out when I can :) Yeah quadlock is probably better if you always keep it here. I actually liked your idea of using bands, I'm gonna do the same but I will have the remote there only when I'm filming. Going from Thailand to France through the silk road. With a 300L not the rallye (but with bigger tank and many other mods). A bit scared, I know nothing about bikes or mechanical stuff, just have 3 days of experience offroad and 1-2 year on road but not many km. Only thing that reasures me is that I have nothing to prove and don't mind being the slowest biker in the world haha, I just want to enjoy the road.
I'm not commenting on videos often but I have to comment on that one. Fantastic editing, great music choices, beautiful sceneries. Overall fantastic video. So far I only had road bikes but now I'm in the market for CRF300 Rally. I'm blaming that on you! Tkanks😂
Great film, really enjoyed this - thanks for sharing! Came across this as I was looking at CRF300 videos, looking at adding this along side an MT-09, for more exploring on roads I don't wanna take the MT-09 on. But the little CRF can do a lot more than I maybe thought :)
It really is an incredible bike, and perfect for someone getting into off-road riding. I imagine I'll eventually want something with more power, but in 11,000 miles I'm still enjoying it!
Very well done, both this, and your newer movie to Spain. You deserve way more views. It was also really interesting to see how a novice dirt rider would deal with the TET. Would you consider sharing your route? I'm planning a trip on the Italian TET and I would love to know where that spot at 26:00 is, for example.
Thank you! The part you have linked is Mount Jafferau. In terms of the route, you can download the Italian TET from the website. I followed the TET starting in Bardoneccia and going up to Mount Jafferau (this part is steep!) and then I continued east until near Suso. It was here that I decided to change my route and head south, so I joined that route from Assietta.

Thank you! Currently working on it...
Brilliant. Very enjoyable watch.
Thanks Alan. New series is out now - Episode 2 on its way 👍
Dude you are a gifted story teller! Godspeed!
Thank you! Really appreciate it. More to come!
My utmost respect for this incredible journey! The camera and drone shots are outstanding. I appreciate your humility and sincere commentary. You're an amazing person-ride safely!
Wow - this is a really kind comment, thank you! I've just released my next film now so I hope you enjoy that one as much as this one. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.
I genuinely enjoy that, we done mate. Funny I’d just started watching this when I heard you on Reel Rides.
What a coincidence! Simon has done a great podcast and I'm looking forward to seeing it grow.
@@projectbikerit will especially as you’ve made a series.
Like you I find finding the music is so time consuming. I like your A I method. I may try that for the French TET I’m editing at the moment.
I feel for you at the moment Bri, I know it's easy for me to say but the way you are feeling is Temporary. If you are at rock bottom now things will only improve. Stopping drinking and training will help massively, best wishes to you. Keep your head up you can get through this.
It's all good man, I don't feel anything negative from the trip now. Can I ask what made you feel I was at rock bottom? For me, the low points of the trip were just part of the journey and made me appreciate the high points even more.
So sorry Nick, comment left on the wrong video !! Really enjoying you're content though!
Just watched another vid of yours yesterday, this one hasn’t failed to impress either. Great that you share both good and bad. Ronald hit the nail on the head though. We do just need to get out and do it, even attempting something either on or off road can be an adventure. 🍻👍🏻👊🏻
Absolutely, sometimes the hardest part is just getting started. Once you're in it, you find a way to get through everything.
Wow! Thank you for an absolutely excellent story and fantastic filming
And thank you for the comment! Really appreciate it
A genuinely inspirational and well filmed documentary of your TET experience. Bravo!
Really appreciate the comment, thank you
Absolutely love this. This is currently what I am dreaming of.
I hope I inspired you to go in the same way other videos inspired me!
What a great film!!! Now onto the winter series 👏👏
Thanks buddy, hope you enjoy
What an inspiring video. In my mind i am already planning my journey for next year, it’s got to be Italy. Great filming, editing & music, you deserve an Oscar.
That Italian route heading south is an absolute winner. Good luck for your trip!
What a wonderful adventure and you have captured it so well. Bravo.
Thank you! More to come...
Jumped in at the deep end - came out a swimmer. Welcome to the off road addiction club. Fantastic video!
Love this phrase! I'll keep swimming along with this new addiction!
Just superb! Thank you
And thank you!
Hi, listened to you on the Tampod cast and so had a look for you on here, really enjoyed your video. I like you felt a little out of my depth off road at first. But after a few years of mistakes and offs..now I’ll take on anything. Keep it up. Looking forward to watching your other films. Andrew
Hi Andrew, really appreciate the kind words, thank you. Off-roading can be a bit terrifying at first but once you get some experience it's just magical. Absolutely addicted!
Stunning professional production and an awesome brave adventure. Congratulations, outstanding and truly inspirational documentary. Thanks for sharing 💪🏼💪🏼
I love that this is described as professional because it's something I aspire to but am still very much an amateur. Really appreciate the comment.
Great content. Thoroughly enjoyed that.
Great to hear! Thank you
beautifu video and amazing adventure! I like your sense of adventure...at last it's a personal intimate ride with ourself
I like that phrase, an intimate ride with ourselves. Thanks for the comment, appreciate it
Superb video, 58 this year and just getting started with it all - skill is one thing but the drive to get 'those moments' is something else.
Brilliant.
Hell yes! What bike are you getting? And where you heading? Good luck, my friend. You will love it
@@projectbiker Probably going for a Tenere 700 - seems like there are plenty around - that's always handy :)
@@NickTadd Solid choice, although people more experienced than me advise that it might be too heavy for a beginner. But if that's the bike you like, I say go for it!
@@projectbiker i hear you, and i expect once done the voices of doubt will happen - but then that in itself will be a challenge that i will gratefully accept :)
@@NickTadd Love it. Record the adventure and share it with us!
What a fantastic adventure great video , presentation was exemplary, keep up the good work.
Thanks Jon - the next series is already filmed and coming soon!
Very good documentary of your trip! I'm impressed 😊
Regards Tommy. Oslo, Norway.
Thanks Tommy from Norway!
Outstanding production! 👏Thank you for sharing this amazing experience of yours! ✌
Thank you! Really appreciate it
Excellent video, pleasure to watch, top class editing and commentary.
At least you have the correct bike for the journey. Someone else who used a CRF itchyboots, here travels are legendary. Enjoy every adventure. Trying to process the good & bad sometimes is hard but when you get home you immediately give yourself a pat on the back & the want to do another one is huge. Safe travels to all . 👍🏆
The feeling of wanting another trip is also immediate! Thanks for the comment, really appreciate it.
@ You’re welcome. Thanks for the great videos. Your true emotions coming through on content also. I am planning to do stelvio pass on my KTM next year. Also 24Hr Le Mans. I live in Northumberland so even getting to ferry is a journey for me but I will soak it all up. Safe travels. 👍🏆
You smashed it my brother💪💪
Thank you! Really appreciate it
Bloody brilliant, loved this and if you ever need a wing man I am there ….
Thank you! You are already my wingman with this comment, really appreciate it. See you out there...
I don't have time to watch the video right now (will do later or the next days) but already left a "Thumbs Up" for the algo :)
Always great when people put so much effort in a video (just watched 2 min so far :D)
Thank you, a lot of effort indeed but really worth the time. Hope you enjoy
The nicest feeling is taking off boots after a long day!! Ride your own ride- make your memories and keep pushing forward.. 👍
Oh my god those boots!
Thanks
Much Enjoyment 👍😎
Thanks buddy
I'm looking forward to this as I watched your Spain, winter sun, trip.
That was fantastic.
Raw, with emotions too.
👏
Just prepping a DR650 for a return trip of Morocco 🇲🇦 like I did a few years ago.
Happy adventures
👊
A DR650 in Morocco sounds like a great trip, enjoy!
Absolutely fair play to you mate getting out of your comfort zone. This will literally be me when I get time next year.
In the mean time I will be doing a few off-road courses in the UK over the winter and trying to build up my "skills".
Courses are a great idea. You'll feel a lot more comfortable when out there, instead of like me and learning on the trip!
@@projectbiker learning on the job sounds like a better idea to be honest. The money saved on not doing off-road courses can be spent on a Garmin and other things to make my life easier
@@simon1290r If you have the time and money for it, I feel having a course will always be preferable. But if not? Just get out there 😜
Nice adventure! You did great with very little off-road experience. I'm sure you learnt a lot (keeping momentum is key off-road, engine braking on long hills). Look forward to your future trips 😃
A lot was learnt, and then a lot wasn't! Best way to learn is to get out there and fail...
Amazing video, so inspiring. Thanks
Thank you so much
well done john, all the best.
Thank you, appreciate it 👍
Thank you for posting this mate, really appreciate it. I'm in a similar situation as yours, same bike, never camped, about to embark on a 15,000 km trip. Gives me confidence!
Also, I was nervous for your mavic controller all along haha!! Insane that you always keep it here even when it rains!!
Great trip, looking forward to see more adventrues from you :)
Thanks buddy, really appreciate it. It's a Mini 3 controller and there was never any heavy rain on it. I've since changed to a Quad Lock approach with it that I'm yet to test. Let's see how that turns out!
Next adventure is currently out in episodes. It's up to episode 3 so far and the next one drops on Friday!
Where are you off to on your trip?
@@projectbiker Yeah I saw the other videos as I followed you, will check that out when I can :)
Yeah quadlock is probably better if you always keep it here.
@@Tony-kf8qy that's an amazing trip! Will you track it on Instagram or anything? I'd love to follow along
@@projectbiker unfortunately not, I'm not really a social media person
@@Tony-kf8qy no worries. Enjoy the trip. I'm jealous!
awesome - can you share the GPX file?
You can get all the gpx files for free by going to the Trans Euro Trail website! I used the French and Italian ones.
Right
I enjoyed the video, clever editing and a great commentary. Felt like I was on the ride with you. Congratulations!!
Thank you! Glad it felt that way. Much more to come!
I'm not commenting on videos often but I have to comment on that one. Fantastic editing, great music choices, beautiful sceneries. Overall fantastic video. So far I only had road bikes but now I'm in the market for CRF300 Rally. I'm blaming that on you! Tkanks😂
I'll take that blame! Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, really appreciate it
Wonderful! Excellent! Well done!
Thank you!
How do you not have more subs? This video is amazing!
Thank you! The subs are growing, welcome to the club :)
awesome landscapes
Thanks dude
You know your a biker, when all you can think about is your next ride, great story, ride safe.
Absolutely. I planned to sell this bike after this trip but...how can I sell it after a trip like this!?
Excellent video and trip.
Thanks, really appreciate it
Respekt ! Das hast du richtig gut gemacht ! 18 Tage allein unterwegs zu sein ist eine Herausforderung.
It was! There were highs and lows for sure.
Thank You!
And thank you!
Brilliant, I really enjoyed that
Thanks Darren!
The drone footage was quality, great film, was totally drawn in to your journey.
Really pleased to hear it! Hoping to continue improving with each one - the newer Spain trip is out now and currently up to Episode 3. Enjoy!
we all start sommewhere, sommehow and not always is easy. congrats, find your video educative and beautifull adventure. keep going
Thank you for the encouragement. Really appreciate it
Great film, really enjoyed this - thanks for sharing!
