MOTIV EVOKE | Does Duramax Actually Work?? (Full Review)

- I got a beach ball! I'm also really interested in the Duramax additive, which Motiv claims slows down lane shine, so we do take a look at that in this video!

This might be one of the best looks I’ve seen for you in a video. It looks like it does the right thing in the right place as long as you throw even a decent shot.
That ball rolls really good for you. Also I really like that lower closer up camera angle.
Super happy to see you review this one. I've been curious about how well the duramax additive worked for slowing down lane shine.
My primal shock goes from 2k to shiny in 1 game, and it gets super inconsistent during that time too. It's just not usable for me. Glad to see the Evoke holds surface very well. This is good news for future motiv releases.
Dang... this is seriously impressive stuff. Very unremarkable reaction but super effective, as soon as you said "firmer Summit" I perked up LOL
Great review as always, love the camera angles you're using now!
Love your annotations. I learn so much from your videos and bowlers paradise videos. Just wanted to say THANKS!
I've been waiting for this review!!!
Definitely loving that high offset camera angle(then reply at lane level)
Bro. Liking the new camera angle ✌️
Nice to see you here Beans
@@andrewweltlich9065never left. Rosdahl is one of my fave channels!
Motiv put a 6.6L V8 Turbo diesel engine in the cover stock to slow down lane shine? Man ball tech is getting crazy
I see what you did there lol . .
That's pretty impressive. I have problems with my envy tour solid shining up unbelievably fast even though I love that ball.
PBA shows will be a lot more fun if players all used colorful balls like this. Bowling is a sports entertainment business after all.
Make Bowling Balls Colorful Again!
Picked this up on Facebook so far so good. My primal shock shines up quite fast (2k probably won’t last for more than a game) GB5 stays fairly dull after 4. My BW3 seems to shine up quite fast also.
Dammit Luke! I had just decided my summer ball purchase and now I'm adding this to the discussion. I hadn't even looked at it before, outside of enjoying the colors, but I am looking at the clone/summit spot and my least favorite thing is resurfacing my stuff before league every week. And I have been looking at giving Motiv a try.
I really hate adding surface too, it always makes the holes dusty no matter how careful I am. You'll still have to do it with this one of course, just seems like it'll be a lot less often
Luke, you compared this to the Summit, which I've learned to love as I've figured out how to throw it. One issue though. Around the end of the 2nd game I need to start moving left just as the Summit begins to lane shine. On lighter/shorter patterns I can move to an Infinite Physix at 4000 and get better entry angle. It doesn't lane shine, but is prone to over/under. Other times a dull Night Road works but it can get a little flat rolling through the dry which develops, and so I can't take advantage of miss room to the right. Woe is me.
The review implies this ball could be used like the Summit, but with a little more potential for making a sharper turn and generating more entry angle from inside. Do you see it that way?
That's how they stack for me at least, the Evoke doesn't necessarily like getting deep, but when my Summit starts to slow down or get lazy or weak, I still have several boards further inside that I can move with the Evoke. Or like you say, if your Summit starts getting lazy a couple games in, you could change to the Evoke and have a similar look with more firmness on the backend.
@@LukeRosdahl Thanks Luke. I appreciate what you do.
Sounds like this and the X-Cell will be in similar spots, from what little we've heard about the X-Cell so far.
I would agree.
I'm also curious about the Duramax additive, but I want to see numbers from a ball scanner, perhaps after game 1, then every game for 5-6 games.
That'd be Hickland territory there. I'm not sure the numbers are especially necessary, they aren't for me at least. I just care about the ball reaction and this one didn't change much throughout, so regardless of what the numbers may say, it was consistent for me.
Been out of the game a while but it reminds me of the Pro Motion somehow.
My BW 3.0 looks like I compounded it after 6 games, and I actually like it that way, but if Duramax works that well, it could be the first ball out of the bag for several weeks without ever touching the surface….
I got the magic gem a few weeks ago for high volume, and it was actually too strong for the 44 ft 29 mL pattern I was on. Any suggestions for a bit tamer option?
This would be an option, so would the Eternity Pi, Black Widow 3.0, etc.
I was thinking about the archetype solid. Would that be a good idea?
@@connorduncan5201 It's actually kind of right on top of the Magic, little too strong I think.
I hated my Evoke. It just didn't work for me. I should have got the attention star or absolute power.
That's exactly why I mentioned what I did. I wasn't trying to dog on the Power like I said, it's a good one, just not for me. So if the Evoke was too slow or lazy for you, the Power might be the ball then.
How does his compare to the Effect?
Opposite ends of the spectrum. The Effect is a clean and very sharp reaction, this one is a very early and smooth reaction. They're of similar strengths though, just quite a bit different overall reactions and purposes.
How do you convert DA Layouts to VLS Layouts?
There's conversion tools available online! Pretty easy to find and pretty straightforward process :)
What do you search for? If I search it only forums come up
@@aisehd2628 it’s in one of those forums. Very first message here, which is the top result when searching for “dual angle to VLS converter” on Google. www.bowlingboards.com/threads/15842-Expected-Layout-and-Layout-Conversion-Spreadsheet
