I recommend playing Extreme Formula. It just hit Early Access on Steam and it's got 39 tracks. It is one of the best new racing games I've played. I found out that it's not gonna get as technical as I thought, but the sheer speed you feel in that game is CRAZY!!! it also has a cool drift ability if you can pull it off. As for the new F Zero, you gotta wait for the new console...F Zero, the one they want to make wouldn't run on the glorified tablet.
There honestly ain't no better time for F-Zero to make a comeback than right here, right now on the modern era of gaming. I'm an uncle of 2 nephews and i recently got them hooked on F-Zero X through the Switch and when i asked them if they liked playing F-Zero X more than Mario Kart 8, they both said Yes and I've never felt more proud as their uncle.
Who knows, they did release F-Zero 99, and it’s gotten new people going back and getting “F-Zero pilled” as someone called it. I still think the next logical step would be a GX remaster with online multiplayer.
I absolutely agree with most of the video. I discovered F-Zero in early 2023, and have been playing all of the games in it non-stop since, loving most of them (X & MV aren't quite my thing). One of my greatest regrets in life was buying Pokemon cards as a kid instead of asking to go to Gamestop. I could've had the Gamecube's greats, including GX. Just last night I was tinkering with the custom machine system to create an abomination, the handling is incredible, I love the music, with such a fun cast of unique and interesting characters. I've personally felt that the reason GX's remaster has been so weird has been what to do with all of the glitches/exploits that people use. Patching them out would drastically damage the speedrunning scene (which is a lot of players), and may damage the remaster's reputation. Just look at how angry the Paper Mario fanbase got after just a few changes were found in TTYD. I disagree with the GBA games not being "full sequels." 2D F-Zero, much like Metroid and Zelda, is very different and equally fun to its 3D counterpart, focusing on condensed complex tracks over the longer ones that emphasize raw speed. On that topic, why wasn't F-Zero 99 mentioned in the video? It is a fully featured, modern release that's gotten consistent updates and has likely been many people's first attempt at the series, which is good considering how easy it is to pick up. Plus, it already demonstrates how well even a simpler F-Zero works in the "online streaming ADHD landscape" we have now. Also, I do like the F-Zero tracks in Mario Kart, they're cool references and easily my favorite tracks in 8 DX.
Honestly, the reason why F-zero 99 wasn't brought up was because I simply forgot to even think about it while writing the script lol. I don't have a Switch, and my only real experience with F-zero is with the SNES original and GX. I plan on being a bit more structured in newer videos, while keeping it lighthearted.
Ofc the sales for F Zero are not great. The GameCube and the N64 did not sell a lot of units. If they make a F Zero collection for the switch it would sell well.
Almost @ 50 subscribers already, fuck yeah dude 🎉 I bet that’ll just keep going up & going up as long as you put shit out there, & ill share it wherever I can 👍
Also, it’s not as good IMO, but the WipeOut games kinda scratch a similar itch as F-Zero does. Still, it’d be hype to get more of this, bc Mario Kart ain’t the best way to have a legitimate competition w your buddies. Blue shells & whatnot, ykno’? And yea, DS is accurate actually, every entry I’ve played has wrecked my shit something fierce 😅

Wow this looks fantastic! Thanks for putting it on my radar!
@@manicgrant my pleasure dude. It really is an F Zero successor in some ways.
@@kukukachu I might try to play it sometime once I start getting into streaming. So thanks again for the recommendation!
Indie devs have been picking up the slack. There's the F-Zero X inspired Aero GPX and the F-Zero GX inspired XF Extreme Formula.

Another racer I have seen no one point out here is Aero GPX. It looks amazing and is just what you need for that F-Zero itch.
YES jfc they could do SO MUCH with a new f zero.
I doubt we'll ever get a new one though, it's too unknown and doesn't have much if any mass appeal.

@@manicgrant That makes sense. I didn't get a Switch until 2022. I wanted one when Odyssey came out, but didn't have the money until then.
The fact you have rainbow phoenix is still quite telling of your ability as a pilot. Certainly a decent deal more than most people can say

@@manicgrant Congrats!
Was this video written before the release of F-zero 99?
SPEAK TRUTH!!!!!
I've got Fast RMX to keep me company.
For now...

The early Wipeout games on the PS1 are great. I plan on doing a review of them at some point.
Dude, you gotta play Redout 1 and 2! It's as fast, if not faster than F-Zero! As a big F-Zero (and wipEout) fan, i can only recommend them.
@@juliusbelmont350 I love RO2! Definitely helps scratch that F-Zero itch.
Aero GPX !!!
