Being you go through so many knives you’re questioning steels on sometimes, I’d love it if you had a HRC tester to at least kinda confirm or ballpark good heat treats or at least a range they’re hardened to. Thanks man I’ve grabbed tons of your finds and deals.
The Amazon listings give the range of HRC.
@ they can claim whatever they want though. To test it is to prove the specs aren’t just being made up.
I don't think that's Brian's thing. He's more of a real world tester. I kinda appreciate that he does not get too technical testing hardness and all that. Does it feel good? Does it work? Does it look good? Thank you!!
@ yeah real world would also include 3 seconds to toss it in a hrc testor. Not much more real than that? I can cut paper with my debit card after a few passes on a stone.
@@The_RC_Guru I think those testers are very expensive. Might be out of his budget.
I have the Mossy 8 1/2 inch hunter, and it is my favorite pocket fixie! There is no better $15 to $17 fixed blade out there! I cut the top of the sheath off just below the snap to make it pocket-drawable and form a thumb push-off. I think mine came a little sharper than yours--passed the paper test easily. Mossy Oak is putting out some really affordable, good quality knives now.
That first fixed blade is pretty dope
Thank you!!
Keep up the great work, Brian! You always try to do the best for us and don't think some of us don't recognize it!✌
Anybody know if SDOCEDC does a good heat treat of their DC53?
I don’t know but I have three from this company and I can chop off branches of redwood to make a hiking stick and no dull all.
Also if they get little things right like sharp out of the box, no sheath rattling they’re probably getting the heat treatment right (probably).
@agator2660 Hmm, I've got my eye on a smaller fixed blade from them, it has a 2.68" blade and looks to be the size of a neck knife (but comes with a belt sheath). It looks like it would be a good food prep and detail knife for bushcrafting projects.
Glad you checked out Mossy Oak (I saw one the other day, too)! Check out their multi-tools, too.
Sweet blades! 🔥🔥🔥
Love all my mossy oak knives, great quality for great prices 😊
My older eyes are finding orange knives and tools, a smarter choice when in the outdoors. 🤓
That Mossy Oak has a dessert color option that would be great for dying if someone wants to color their own
cutting up the kids' church activity sheet misprints... 😉 nothing wasted! that's good stewardship. 🤙
Hahaha true !
I sure wish your 704 knives shipped to Colombia 🇨🇴. I'm definitely going to order some when I come to the USA 🇺🇸 to visit this spring.
They are all good if you know how to sharpen and maintain an edge..😊
These are some sweet blades
Man, I'm such a sucker for fixed blades.
Thanks for the honesty!!
What does dc53 compare to?
Ive never heard of it
Randomness for the Algorithm
Great deals!
Awesome…. banner…
Great Chinese knives.
HOW BOUT THOSE EAGLES!?!?!
Kinda off topic but the Birchwood Casey shoot-N-C targets on sale for $7.79 on Amazon
Nice
GO BIRDS 🦅 🦅🦅
You cant spell eagles either?
Two conflicting numbers on the China steel. No way😂
Are any of these good for striking a ferro rod? ✨️🎆♨️
(I asked to soon, but still...)
The tan knife with ferro rod, needs a sharper spine to strike it's ferro rod. You can sharpen that up with a flat file, but should not have to!
Let’s go
😎👍
Ya eh tay.
