Jefferson was actually a very withdrawn and anxious, keeping to himself and actually had a fear of public speaking. The musical Jefferson and historical Jefferson are two completely different beings, one being an idealistic viewing of how Jefferson would've wanted to be vs how he really was. Lin made Jefferson like this in the play because he wanted to portray how Jefferson was a villain in Hamilton's eyes, seeing as how they disagreed on so many things and had opposing opinions and political parties. So yeah, Jefferson wasn't as savage as Daveed Diggs take on him is.
TRUTH! If you look at history he did alot of things that made people think he was a confident outgoing person.
Leah James yeah he once pretended to be sick for a month to avoid parties because he made a fool of himself in front of a pretty lady. ( which honestly is a mood)

Lol thing is Jefferson was tame irl. Musical Jefferson is sassy, loud, charismatic, and is made to match Hamilton's fierceness. But TJ in real life wasn't charismatic, like, at all. He had a huge fear of public speaking and stuttered.
Daveed Jefferson You may be thinking of Madison. Jefferson wasn't much of a stutterer, he did have trouble with public speaking though.
Only spoke a few sentences at a time very quietly. He was very charismatic in private though, and very sassy.
Considering this is a musical, he kinda has to be loud, haha!

irl jefferson was an awkward quiet guy actually. but the musical makes the characters based off of our _perception_ of what they were like. you think of jefferson as a really really important guy in history, so he's portrayed as super flamboyant and obnoxious in the musical

Burr was a horrible person in real life. He's much more pitiable in the musical, especially because it says he regrets killing Hamilton (which real life Burr didn't).
Mhm. I love how Lin actually made Burr a likable character, and Leslie's acting made the audience sympathise with Burr, making him less of a vilain than he was in real life.

Violet - Madness I can't really think of any good things he did except like care for his daughter. He really wasn't a great person. He always joked about killing Hamilton, and only once or twice was he like "oh, maybe we could've resolved our problems in a better way. "
BivloBubbings/Mo Well he did good things. First of all, he took care of other people's children whose parents couldn't for free and treated them as if they were his. He also helped Maria like A LOT with her divorce. He was also a hug feminist who tried to defend women's rights when he could, he was a great husband and father who put all of his effort for give his daughter the best education he could, apart from defending the immigrants and being an anti-slavery. He was a very open-minded man for the time he was and also very smart. I'm not saying he was an angel, he actually did some crazy and not that good things, but my point is that he wasn't a "horrible person" neither.

You should do 21 chump street first because it's the shortest with only 5 songs. The others have like 20 something. And it's not like the songs don't convey the plot, they really do since the musical is only about 15 minutes long.

You were right with the "Can we get back to politics?" "Please?" Bit. In the musical, James Madison comes on stage wiping his eyes with a tissue whilst crying, it is a nod to the sadness of "Stay alive (reprise)" and "It's quiet uptown". Awesome that you picked up on that!!
So what happened is Burr did not have a party, he danced around questions about his veiw on politics. Jefferson asked him to be his vice (back then you would vote for a pair then voted who would be vice and president) the votes tied every time in congress it came down to the delegates by they all wanted to know who Hamilton would vote for. Hamilton wrote a leter persuading The delegates to vote for Jefferson. (Burr started to companion for president after the votes started to tye so he backstabbed Jefferson) so Jefferson no longer trusted him and later changed the law so you could not vote the vice for president.

Fun fact: The election of 1800 happened before Philip's death. Philip Hamilton died in 1801. Three years before Alexander died.
Ps. Angelica, Eliza and Margarita (Peggy) did have a brother. Their father (Philip Schuyler) had a son: Philip Jeremiah Schyuler.
Pps. Peggy was very brave. Once; a bunch of native americans and british soldiers attacked their home, looking for their father. All the women hid upstairs except Peggy. A baby had been left downstairs and she went back for it. On the way back up, they found her and ordered her to tell them where her father was. She said he had gone to fetch backup. This was a lie. He was just not home. They quickly left. (though rumor has it one of the natives threw a hatchet a Peggy which missed and lodged in the banister.)
Peggy sadly died in 1801 from sickness... She put up a firce battle, but she died anyway. Alexander stayed by her side and wrote to Eliza daily on her condition.
This should have been in the show...
Next up is Your Obedient Servant. My personal favorite fan-made video would have to be the Rough Storyboard by a-sanne. I just love how the story of the song is being conveyed. Although, I will say, a more recent animatic by Violet - Madness is really good too.
So yeah. Fun Fact, Burr actually does become vice president, but it quickly became a meaningless title for him. Jefferson never trusted him after the election so he kept him out of every meeting and gave him next to no power. Burr's not very happy right now. Livid even. Yeah................it's about to go down.

It's funny because Burr, historically, had a lot of beliefs, and he certainly wasn't silent about them. During his time in the Senate, he proposed a bill to give women the right to vote... two hundred years early. Because of his intelligent wife and daughter, he was quite the feminist. ;)

Jefferson was not a savage in real life. He was a nerd who didn't like conflict. He would snipe at people through the press but that's about it. He resigned from Washington's cabinet because he hated fighting with Hamilton every day while Hamilton thrived on conflict.
And hamilton did the right thing by backing Jefferson. Even though it killed the federalist party. It's was what was best for the country in retrospect. Hamilton backed Jefferson and basically got him elected because he didn't trust burr but it leads to American democracy as we know it today. Jefferson let everyone realize that liberal ideas worked for governing a country. And that the old world federalist with their centralized power view of government and vote and let us run shit because we're smart wasn't needed. It took until Jackson to kill Hamilton's financial system but after it died America only became the richest nation the world has ever known in a short amount of time. The federalist ideas are back although and that damn financial system that Hamilton cursed us with.
Yep, Jefferson was pretty ruthless, him and Hamilton indeed were rivals and he even didn't see eye to eye with Washington on that much stuff.

My answer would be: Yes, i believe he chose the right person to vote for, considering what you said at the end is very true...
but, indeed this leaves a thorn in your heart as Burr, at the moment, lost the love of his life (Theodosia-his wife), took trust in Hamiltons suggestion and said Hamilton, a close friend, ended up turning on him, with that, going against the very suggestions said *friend* (ham) gave him. He was so close to his goal, and because of Alexander, whom he slowly began to feel jealous for, considering all the chances life threw at him, he lost it all in one blow.
I believe at the end when the lyrics played: "Jefferson- When you see Hamilton, thank him for the endoresment." Instead of the blank face Burr had, he should have had an embarassed and pained, salty look to his expression.

The Election of 1800 song is so sad for Hamilton like the guy didn’t even get a chance to grieve over Philip’s death (which he was never the same afterwards, his son’s death broke him) before everyone was like “we know your hurt by your son’s death- bUT IF YOU HAD TO CHOOSE!”
