Angela Davis is living proof things like segregation and the Civil Rights movement are not lost in the distant past but rather a very recent series of shifts in American society who’s echos still affect the way we live today

The great divide is self inflicted. If you think of the world as racist, you will find excuses not to succeed. Angela Davis knows that’s not true.

Change is achieved through social struggle. And the struggle of each era is based on the achievements of previous historical struggles.

We have need of history in its entirety, not to fall back into it, but to see if we can escape from it. Activism is a way for useless people to feel important even if the cosequences of their actvism are counterproductive for those they claimed to be helping and damaging to the fabric of society as a whole.

-As I Run My Fingers through Your Hair-
      Motionless between arms
      With tender love and care
Your very nature pure and warm
      Releasing my heart’s despair
And as you lay restful and calm
As I take the deepest breath
My soul recalled the sweetest psalm
      Of love and nothing else
I began to trace your very grace
As I place my fears aside
My fingers began to have their way
At the same time weaken my pride
Within my space your darling face
      My thoughts began to compile
God’s creation of beauty, an angel before me
      An essence worth my wile
Like a breeze so, so softly
My kisses was filled with air
      Your silhouette I touch gently
      Basking in my atmosphere
      Touching your head waiting patiently
To engage in my emotions I bear
And as you awake for heaven’s sake
As I Run My Fingers through Your Hair…
      -Pharaoh Speaks-

Angela dear I wrote a paper about you when I was 12 years old. You were my hero and my start of being a protester against the Vietnam War. I wore a black arm band in honor of the MIA in the war. and walked out of my junior high class. You were my hero just as Nina Turner and Brianna Joy -- they are the backbone behind the Bernie Bros -- Bernie was too connected to the establishment he went way further than the establishment had wanted. So he is now under their beck and call. He will be their spokesman -- he knows the progressive will not follow him. So nina Turner is taking the baton and passing it on to us -- we the people "hell'o somebody."

People are waking up, and if we can organize collectively and get them to join groups like the Poor People's Campaign to keep this movement going for the long march towards justice. We can not only defeat Trump, but we can organize to create a better world free of racism and patriarchy where people's needs are met.

    Warning to all African countries!
Ethnic-based federation experimenting in Ethiopia caused much damage. The fascist Nazi communist TPLF from the Tigray region experimented with the ideology of the federation which they never understood, the same with communism which they also had difficulties among the Ethiopian people. This social experiment caused ethnic cleansing and apartheid among Africans. The international community eagerly followed the experiments, and some were aware and warned that it would lead to civil war. That's what's happening now.

@hint0122 did she murdered someone in your family buddy. And if you're referring to that trial from the early 1970's, she was acquitted and should I add by a mostly if not entirely white jury, so get over yourself. Angela Davis is an amazing women and you know it. Peace.

    @amadeusyaoi,
I don't recall exactly to what you are referring but Davis was in Czechoslovakia at a time when their people were trying to overthrow their Communist oppressors peacefully. She sanctioned the torture of their political prisoners. Read Alexander Solzhenitsyn, whose accounts were praised by socialists, on the subject of communist torture.

Doubt she “sanctioned” the torture . Doubt she had political power as a black woman in Czechoslovakia ... as she said in the lecture which I DOUBT you listened to whole thing ... sometimes history and what men say isn’t exactly what happened . &&& as she said communism just like any other system can be corrupted as PEOPLE/INDIVIDUALS who are in power tend to succumb to corruption . She said even the black panthers were toxic & fell off course doesn’t mean that she shouldn’t have joined them and enacted the changes in their community and the world that they did

wow! I didn't know that black women stood behind the process of the civil rights movement - Amazing! When I was doing a project on the movement, only male names appeared and then Rosa Parks. It's very disheartening that they don't want to give black women the credit they deserve.

@Too Cool For Cardi I agree 100%. I'm an african woman who lives in Denmark and have never stepped a foot in America. I have been doing research on black history. Whether it's american american, black british or african. So many voices were left out, especially black female voices. And looking at what is going on right now, it is very clear that it is still happening. I'm so saddened by the fact that I see many people only mention black men when they are talking about the black lives matter movement. And it breaks my heart. Black men's voices deserves to be heard. Black men's voices deserves to taken seriously. But black women's voices go unheard unless they are talking about another dead black man. Black women are also victims of the same system. Let's be very clear, what police officers do to black men doctors to to black women. We are not taken seriously at all.

You really would have more influence here if you used DEFINED wordage instead of words you make up. If "historivisionist" is a new dictionary word, I would like you to point me to the source. Thank you.

@RED PILL PORTAL I know that. I was commenting on the stupidity of made up words. I know she's a radical liberal and belongs with the Dem party. But seriously, she is a murderer and member of the "old" Black Panther party, which were all violent.

@@hobabby That’s crazy because I’m pretty sure she defended herself & won vs the United States of America lol and if you didn’t know society makes up words & terms especially in philosophy political science and sociology that’s why new words are always added to the dictionary also English is the language literally of made up & borrowed words soo....
