I came here looking for how to use a signal mirror. Watched that EXCELLENT video, then binged through all the others. I have camped most of my life, spent a lot of time with Navy and Marines, was associated with an excellent Boy Scout troop for 3 years, and still learned a ton of great tips and skills here. Thanks Ranger Mike…you are an outstanding teacher!
Very good simple instructions for those who wish to learn basic skills. The one sticking fire is great for scouts to practice with. Thank you Ranger Mike.
I have just finished watching the entire series. I find that it is a down-to-earth and interesting introduction to the subject, being neither overbearing nor overly technical. The introduction to using a bow drill, is the best I have ever watched. I will definitely watch the series again with my sons. Thank you!
Hey there! I came across your videos quite a while ago and found them really useful. I also remember commenting something about not using your knife in the fire. While I can't find that comment now, I just wanted to apologise for being an annoying know it all. I was most definitely early on the dunning kruger curve and was speaking out of my backside. Thank you for putting up with annoying past me and being so polite in your responses 😁
I just finished the 18 videos... great work and thanks for making and sharing them. I learned a lot and thanks to you I discovered Mors, so now I have more videos to watch !!
+Carlos Zenteno Thanks for watching! Really glad to hear you found the vids useful. Mors is definitely the man. I'm also a big fan of Ray Mears as well. Happy trails, Carlos!
Finally got through all your videos - Excellent presentation! I teach a Wilderness Survival program for a State Park in California - I am amazed at how much your videos parallel my program. You being on the East Coast, I guess our environments may change buy our needs and priorities in a survival situation don't.
backwoodstrails Wow, I'm humbled that you watched all of my vids! I'm glad our programs matched up. I guess that means we're both on the right track. Thanks for watching, and best of luck with your program!
Thank you! I originally recorded this series of 18 videos as a parting "gift" to the Urban Park Rangers so they could use them to train future Rangers. I now live in Hawaii, actually. I've been thinking of filming a couple more... we'll see. :)
did anyone else randomly find these videos and then decide to binge-watch the entire series lol
That's a lot of me to take in one sitting. I'm honored! Thanks for watching. :)
