recently discovered ur vids..ty so much 4 the tips etc. as a stroke survivor still lil weak on left side, my dog and i r in the woods alot..walking fishing....i often put on lil fire make tea have lunch...happy trails

+karen holman So glad you are enjoying the vids Karen! What a shame that they didn't take women at that time. Many of my ranger coworkers, including my Sgt. were women, and I owe them so much for sharing their excellent knowledge with me. Enjoy your woods time with the dog, that sounds perfect! :)
Those are nice tools to have and I also have the ability to produce fire using the Bow Drill technique and plan to learn how to do it using the Hand Drill method also.
With reference to using the firesteel, I find that when using the back of a knife it does not have to be sharpened; just straight and not rounded. I also find that NON stainless steel works much better.
