I have a Speedbox 3 fitted to my Scott emtb and have now clocked up 3800Km - everything works fine. One habit you must learn - is to NEVER turn off your display (let it time out) and NEVER plug your charger into the bike until the display has gone blank via its normal time out mechanism. If you turn off the display early, then you will trigger the Bosch anti hacking software on your bike which means a dealer reset.
I sometimes get 503 error, even though i never turn off computer until it countes down to 0. Now I read that you say never to plug charger to bike until its off. I never heard anything about that. Can you tell what you know about that problem?
@@runef7471 , the Bosch gen 4 motors have anti hacking software. If you have a speed dongle fitted and you plug in your charger or before the display has fully reset it will trigger the anti hack lockout. Unfortunately I have discovered (the hard way!) that even though the display looks like it has timed down to zero the software doesn’t agree!! Consequently the only way to be absolutely sure that the software has correctly reset after a ride is to wait for the display to time out and go blank after a ride. Since I have taken this approach I have never had a problem. We have a number of Bosch powered bikes: our Haibike, Scott and Canyon bikes all are fitted with dongles, and I can report that waiting for the system to go to sleep is foolproof. Hope this helps.
For those of you wondering about the 504 Error, I rode my Trek Allant 2022 model for commuting and even after 700 miles of riding the error didn't occur. Don't avoid the countdown, as annoying as it is, it prevents the system from detecting the tuner for you. You can wait 5 min and it even auto shuts off. As long as you do what the speedbox organization directs you to do, you should be fine with the speedbox 3.0. Happy ebiking!!
@@len9483 if you have the gen 3 motor you may have to take the crank off, but with gen 4 motors there’s no need to take the crank off and you can simply take the cover off and install the chip.
I've got mine today, installed on Cube stereo hybrid 140, kiox display, easy to install, no problems with fitting wires, easy to set up, works fine! The only issue is that actually it gives you boost up to +/- 50 km/h on turbo mode, so no way you can ride much faster than 50 km/h. Still I am happy to have it, more options and more fun than speed limited to 25 km/h.
Active Line Plus. I did not end up needing to remove the crank arm to gain access to the wiring. The placement for the connectors to the motor varied from that in the video. I ended up having to loosen the motor from the bike frame to get enough wiggle room in the wiring to remove the plugs. First ride, on the dirt track behind my house, worked great.
Got it, installed it and had some trouble with the speed indicator connection. Installed it again. Worked like a charme. Walk mode is the on/off switch, so walk mode doesn't function anymore. I ride my bike, so that doesn't bother me. I have the 2020 Bosch CX Performance 4th gen and I have driven >200 km the last 2 weeks, even in some pretty bad weather. I love it!
@SpeedBox Tuning : I've not seen the performance I'd expected to gain after installing my SB3, best I've managed is low 50km/h's on a downward incline. Now I know I'm not fit enough to perform this on my own, so it IS working to some degree, but I expected the Pedal Assist to be much better than it is at lower speeds (I bought the SB becuz I am extremely unfit and required the additional assistance but it doesn't seem to be there). Do you have any thoughts about the lack of performance improvement I'm experiencing? Also, when j first purchased this bike (2nd hand), the previous owner had moved the speed sensor magnet onto the crank arm, and the sensor in a location to pick it up there. I changed this once I installed the SB and noticed - was there anything to gain from them doing this? I've ever since had troubles getting the speed sensor to pickup the magnet. I've tried a small cube length of neodymium stuck to the spoke, and also a regular bike computer screw on sensor, and neither is better than the other, I have to fiddle with the magnet and the speed sensor before each ride to get it working and prey it continues to work. I'd really appreciate some technical assistance/feedback from you guys as soon as you have the time. Cheers, Nash
Just installed the 3.0 on a 2020 CX with purion display , just awesome what a speed, no need to remove the pedal on my bike on installation. Flat out with MTB tires I reached 52km/h on a flat road. Safely shutting down the bike just takes 5-8 seconds. Totally happy! UPDATE: Drove 500km no problems. Shutting down time is longer than 5-8 seconds. More like 30-40 seconds. I notice it gets shorter when i put the setting back to max 25kmh mode for the last 300 meters of the ride. That saves 50%. Again have to say its a great ride i average 40-45 kmh can easily keep up with speedpedelecs :)
Installed mine back in January on the top of the range Trek Mountain bike. I have done at least 50 long rides with it without any problems at all, It just works every time. I don't know what the "leave on until 0 is shown" means. Sometimes I forget and turn it off straight away without waiting for 0, but it makes no difference, it still works normally every time.
The reason that you should wait is that the Bosch system will know that the sea box is plugged in don’t wait. It’s a computer so it recognizes there’s something plugged in and work around from Bosch is that you wait till it says 0.0.If something happens to your motor god for bed, your warranty will be void.
I did not need to remove the crank arm on my 2020 Riese and Muller Delite. Just removed the two screws for the cover and voila simple install. First ride today and everything worked well. My bike does have the 85nm update. Thanks !!
I also own a RM (Delite Mountain) and there was a RX Chip hidden inside the motor cover which i removed. Was it a problem to place the speedbox inside the cover? I think there is not much space...
What is the RX Chip for? To fit the SpeedBox just takes a little time to carefully pack it in the small space around the motor and secure it with a zip tie. The bike now has 9674 miles and haven’t had any problems.
Sorry guys, this was in 2012. It was a non-electric bike. The gears and the mountains allowed me to do that😁. Just got a cube acid hybrid 400, with Bosch motor 500w. It doesn't have gearing to go over 35mph..
I had an idea: on this ebike Cube acid 400, with mid motor, I am thinking of adding a 1500w 48v front wheel motor. Plus, derestrict the Bosch original motor (I already ordered speedbox 3.0)
As mentioned in the posts below, the hardest part of this install is keeping all the wires in place as you install the motor cover. I suspect this procedure wasn't shown in the video because it is very hard to do.
Thnx for you quick response. Got the chip out, received the upgraded, put the chip back in. Tested it, got a new bike. Specially in ECO you can feel a much better response and longer range. Very pleased with the upgrade and the Speedbox.
@@SpeedBoxTuning Nice video I have cube touring hybrid one 500 ebike, since it is a paddle assist and due to my health requirements I would like to add throttle to my cube ebike, please advise / guide on how to go about having throttle control installed in it. Thank you
Thanks for great video just got another gestapo bosch motor (Great Priced full carbon Canyon Grail On: Wished the had used wonderful Yamaha motors....) so bought another great speedbox. Correct me if I am wrong, respectfully why did you have to pull the crank arm to remove the cover ? I did the same procedure 2 years ago on that model motor and easily removed the cover by removing those two torx screws without pulling the crank. As everyone can see by this video you can easily get to them by turning the crank arm out of the way.
Hello. We are glad that you are satisfied with the SpeedBox, even if it is not for a Yamaha motor 🙂 It is true that it is not always necessary to remove the crank from the motor. We made a video of the handle being removed to demonstrate this option as well. Plus the video is clearer and the motor cover did not obstruct the shot.
Yuba Spicy Curry- cargo line I just bought and installed it on my bike. The damn thing works. I had to do the plus minus option. I rolled down my hill that reaches 35 mph. Normally the engine cuts off at 20mph. I could hear and feel the engine going that I pushed it to 40mph. I doubt I’ll ever continuously pedal that speed, but it’s nice I can actually pedal finally passed 20mph.
Hi, Thank you very much for the nice review! Don't forget to let the mileage recalculation finish after your ride or during longer breaks 🙂 We wish you many happy miles!
1000k,s now since i installed speedbox ,great really is an easy install, tiny cable tie for the wiring and tuck the box away ,literally done in minutes
Hey, is the speed limit setting permanent or do you have to set it every time you toggle the speedbox on? If you don't activate the speedbox on your ride do you need to wait before turning the bike off? How long do you have to wait before turning the bike off and does the wait time depend on the length of the ride or the kilometers you have put on the bike?
Hello Vesa. Sorry for late reply. Speed limit setting is permanent until next change in settings. You do not need to wait for the countdown, if you do not activate the tuning. Yes, the countdown process depends on the length and speed of the ride - usualy takes a minute or two.
Hi. Have the 3.0 speedbox on a Bosch performance. I just realized that I only can enable the tuning via the app. The walk button or the +-+- no longer enable the tuning. Any tips?
Got the news there is a software update for the Bosch 4th gen, with some pretty great new stuff. Can we use the old chip or do we need a to buy a new chip (Which I don't mind, because I like the fun of it!)
SpeedBox 3.0 for Bosch is fully compatible with new 2021 Bosch update. This update is related to Gen4 only so you must have SpeedBox 3.0 for Bosch to be able to enjoy the new udpate.
I‘ve read that the Bosch software detect the modification and deactivates the motor completely after some minutes of usage. To unlock it you have to visit the bike dealer. Is that true?
SpeedBox 3.0 for Bosch overcomes this. We stay behind our products. Furthermore, if Bosch accidentaly detects tuning, motor is still usable, just the motor support is decreased for a while. To resolve this, you don't have to visit the bike dealer. Visit the bike dealer is just one of the options.
yes bosch software will detect it, but only after few hundreds km.., probably something in the statistics of usage doesn't sum up and it will trigger a tunning detection, happened to me on cx perfomance Gen4, was all good the first rides but after ~300km it started to show random speeds while riding, then error 504, limp mode, and had to take the speedbox 3 out, will not use it again
Hello SpeedBox, this looks great and think it will work well with my Trek. Just one thing I didn't quite get. When SpeedBox is deactivated, does the motor revert back to Bosh original settings until activated again on the walk button. ie Can you flick between Bosh and SpeedBox?!
When SpeedBox is deactivated, bike acts like there is no SpeedBox installed = default speed limit. You can turn the SpeedBox on/off whenever during the ride.

Will this work with the new update just came out recently? And does it effect the EMTB mode that ensures even better control on the trail since the new update?
@@artgreg2296 I've just bought mine but not opened the box. However, I've had mixed reviews. Some people say it work's with the latest update I believe that you need to make sure that when updating the latest bosch software that you remove the speedbox and always make sure you let it run-down the clock before switching off and before connecting your charger. It should work that what I've been told. I'll wait for the someone from the speedbox box team to answer us. But checking their the Facebook page they inform us that it works with the current version!
Hi do you need to remove battery completely b4 u fit speedbox chip? As i have one on order but cannot find the keys for my battery!!!!dont think I've ever removed the battery in the year plus i have had the bike so do i definitely need to remove it?TIA 😊😊
Hi. We recommend removing the battery from the e-bike, as installing the chip interferes with the e-bike motor, even if it is only a matter of disconnecting and connecting the connectors. If you don't remove the battery during installation, the motor should not explode and the SpeedBox will work. But please take it as a recommendation to guarantee the functionality of our product 🙂
bonjour.sur un moteur bosch performance line cx MY15 BDU2xxCX "generation2" sorti en 2015,quelle speedbox faut-il que j'achete....merci pour la reponse
when is the speedbox 4 out ? the version 3 is putting a lot of Bosh Gen 4 and older Gens with the firmware updates into Limp mode after so many miles. WHEN WILL THIS BE FIXED ? and why are the speedbox makers all quiet about this like its not happening..
I think I have a question that could help all people having performance cx 2020. Will the 2021 85 newton update will be compatible with the speedbox 3? Or will there be a mandatory update on the speedbox 3?
I went to one of my bike dealer he told me he does not make the 85newton upgrade because that would break the unrestriction kit... but did not know kit of which brand
Hi, if the Speedbox 3.0 is removed from the bike before any warranty claim, will they be able to detect that it was plugged in, and then invalidate the warranty?
Yes ones the "computer" of the bike is conntected to the dealer/sellers laptop etc for service etc. History of the bike will show that in its "lifespan" it has provided more KW's at higher speed which leads to the proof the engine has been messed with.
There is nothing better than a firmware flashing/cracking. (I never bought a limited bike. I bought electric motor kits only to avoid these speed limits).
Great video! I have a 2015 Haibike Xduro Hardseven with the Bosch Performance Line motor on it. Will this chip work with the older Bosch system? Cheers.
My (Canadian purchased) 2022 SCOTT Strike eRIDE 920 has the BOSCH Performance Line CX GEN-4 , which has 5 plugs all with wires going into them .Only 1 of the ports don't have a wire plugged into it. Is there some other product or adapter that I'd require to make this work?
I dont have this brand I have a Philodo H8 which alone I have 9 PAS modes, but usually use hand throttle and can hit 38 mph when freshly charged, then it drops to like 31-34 mph range when riding a little. I just want to know if theres any tune kits for that type of bike, all the computer parts are located in a bag by the battery, and a box on the bottom frame by the front tire. I just want my bike to take of quicker sometimes lol cause it has times where it peels out, or times where you have to pedal to help the motor realize I want to go lol
@SpeedBox Tuning what you do if you stop at stoplight and countdown start? Can you pedal forward? I live in city, I stop at stop light many time , and another one and another one.. What happen if I pedal before countdown is over? What happens if you ran out of battery life?
We counted with situations when customer must stop on traffic lights. In this case you are allowed to interrupt the countdown. Basically, countdown might be interrupted occasionally. However, it must not be completely ignorred. Just at the end of your ride, please let it count down to the 0.
The sockets on my Haibike Trekking 3.0 with Bosch performance line CX motor look different - there are two smaller sockets with plugs in and one larger one. Question is which of the smaller sockets does the Speedbox plug in to?
I read on the Bosch website that the motors can detect that it's going faster than it should and goes into a low run mode that can only be reset by a Bosch technician with a code. Is that true?
Basically, it's true. However, there are ways how to overcome that. SpeedBox 3.0 for Bosch is the way. It's fully compatible with the newest Bosch motors.
Requested advice from Speedbox for the e-bike I have, got the 3.0 for Bosch also ordered their crank puller. But puller does not fit Canyon GrailON. No options, warnings or advice from Speedbox or it's website. Local bike shops do not carry a bigger non-standard crank puller either.
Hi Carlo. We recommend a crank puller for e-bikes where this is needed to remove the crank. We do not recommend a crank puller in general for all e-bikes with a Bosch motor, as we do not know which e-bikes necessarily require a crank puller and which do not. Thank you for your understanding.
Yes it WILL void your warranty. I run a bike shop and these render your bike illegal and the manufacturer will not cover you should there be a problem. Your bike can record data that can be addressed under warranty circumstances. This is setting a dangerous precedent Speedbox Tuning.
I've got a brand new 2020 trek powerfly 5 and I've been told that if this is fitted it will work fine for around 30 miles then go in to limp home mode , You then need to take it to a shop and it will need resetting from there lap top , The new software in the bike will tell the computer that it's been messed with and the warranty will be gone ,Plus ths speed box will need removing , On early bikes they can be hacked but the manufacturer's are now wise to it and have stopped it , people are never happy they always want a bit more . Myself I am happy with my bike as it is ,I can go along at 14 to 15 mph for my whole ride and I certainly couldn't do that on my normal bike , If I wanted to go faster I would just get another motor bike , personally I think my ebike is a great bit of kit .
I think it sucks that Bosch/Trek would sabotage the software. You should be free to do whatever you want once the warranty is expired. Does Bosch/Trek warranty the bike for life? NO! Then remove this "limp mode" shit. I'll never buy another Trek or any other BS product that does this to their computers, (ie: TESLA).
It works.. But I can only set it to 25 kmh and 99 kmh. I can't set any other speeds. I'd like to set it to 32kmh.. I'm following the steps in the video, but i can't set the speed correctly.
I just bought your speedBox 3 and installed it on my new 2020 Cube Reaction Hybrid EX that has the new software installed (85 NM vs 75NM) Displ : 4.0.0 DU: 1.1.00 Bat : 1.1.0 and I have received 2 ERROR's on the display in the last week. Why is this happening??? Other than that I love your speedBox 3.
your comment is interesting because i was planning to buy the same bike and i went to one of my biker dealer he told me he does not make the 85 newton upgrade because it would likely break the unrestriction kit. do you nevertheless manage to ride with it? despite the errors?
@@artgreg2296 So far the bike still works after you shut it off and start it again but it could be the 3rd time is the charm. I will let you all know if and when I get #3 Error. Hi. After switching the e-bike off and on, it is necessary to activate the tuning again. The display shows a value of 9.9 kmh or 6.2 mph. But if you set a maximum speed of, for example, 30 mph, it will stay in memory and you won't have to set it again every time 🙂

Hi, I have a 2023 bosh gen4 ebike (Cube) And i got the Speedbox 3.0B This has Rectangular plugs but my bicycle has small round plugs. How do i convert this?
Hello Emanuel. Looks like you have a Bosch Smart System. Boch calls it 4th generation, in fact it is more like 5th generation. That's why Bosch 3.0 doesn't fit there - it's only up to the 4th generation. Don´t worry, try contacting your dealer for a replacement kit.
I wonder what this tunning does to your motor in the long run.. Yes, it drains the battery much, much quicker, that's obvious. Can the bosh gen 3 handle that sort of extra 'stress' 'assistance' ?
We've been producing SpeedBox products for Bosch motors for seven years now. I mean there is many customers who use our products for seven years. Battery is not being drained so much quicker. Depends on your speed and plenty of other things such as riding mode, terrain, your weight, etc.

once you checked if it functions @2:50 , do you have to let it turn off ? then you show later that you turn it on again. because mine is showing error and i did not let it turn off..i tried setting it to 28mph limit and it still not working...I am waiting for it to turn off by itself now .. It would help if you explained this in the video - you make it sound so easy but its clearly annoying. i dont know why i bought a speedbox if you dont tell the problems, proper rip off
Hello. Thank you for your feedback. The most important thing is to choose the right SpeedBox. Version 2.0 is for the 2nd and 3rd generation of Boch motors manufactured up to 2020. Version 3.0 is also for the 4th generation of Bosch motors. Installation is simple: remove the cover, remove original connectors, install SpeedBox in the correct plugs. Do a tuning check. If an error appears, the connectors are probably not connected correctly, or they have not clicked into each other properly. If everything works, the motor can be covered again. You can turn off tuning or not - it does not affect the function. It will probably shut itself off before you can cover the motor. If you do not know how to install, contact us via chat at www.speedbox-tuning.com or on our social networks, please.
@@SpeedBoxTuning Thankyou, I appreciate for your reply. It seems to be the correct one - Speedbox3 for non-smart Gen4 Bosch. I disconnected it and it seems to work as it originally does, so I am happy with that ! I thought I was going to lose precious days of cycling. I will try again next week to reconnect. I will try contacting via email. One thing I have noticed in the comments, is, is that we should let the display system shut down itself, as to let it do what it needs to by itself (also to charge when display system is off). I did not see this in your video and I may have turned it off, for it to trigger some safety feature on the system. I noticed the pins are quite delicate, but the connections seemed to clicked in correctly and are not bent/damaged. I Will try again as soon as possible. Otherwise I may try another 'hack'. Also for UK, and my setup, do we have to set a speed limit ? I believe they should be set to 30mph Thankyou
Just an update. I refitted today. The plastic sheath comes off to show the pins, and one was a little bent. I carefully checked which way the color wires go back on too, you can also see from the plastic insert too (just to make sure). Once all reconnected, and closed the pedal cover (mine I dont have to take the pedal off thank god). I did a manual wheel spin too without pedals, and speedometer was working this time. I noticed a sharp bite when trying to cycle off, so I pressed the turbo mode up and down. Just to say it works now. I have it set to 2.8/28mph from last time was still on the memory (I think that is way more than enough tbh). I thought it would add this comment for the happy ending. Somehow your video also shows the same speed setting I put on, and to leave display on now for Bosch motor systems. not sure if that is coincidence(that I didn't notice before) or updated, anyhow, Cheers and all the best

Do you have bike models where a tuning device doesn't fit inside? I have a Carver Strict E.410 bike and the place inside that powerunit is razor thin! I don't see a device fitting there inside at all.
@@SebGruch actually it is more complicated than that because if you do the 85 newton upgrade and so will be the 2021 models by default it seems it will not mork anymore as someone commented here
Hello, you can definitely any of those SpeedBox 3.0 products. When WALK button is disabled, you are supposed to activate the SpeedBox by pressing + - + - (alternative activation).
How does it work uberhaupt. I've a cargo bike, and even with 70kg of load, it is more cumbersome to enable walk mode than just push the bike. Also it is very annoying the pedals rotate while walking.
cant you just go into manufacturer setting and change the settings.also does this work on wheel motors or is it just crank motors also did you leave your part hooked up and try to find room inside or do you remove it once you put codes in then put back together and once its done does it effect battery i would imagine it drains battery faster thank you
Speed can not be unlocked anywhere in the settings. SpeedBox is compatible with mid drives only. Ebike tuning drains battery a bit faster. However, it is just one of many factors that have impact on discharging of the battery.
It says that you shouldn’t turn off display before 0kmh or 0Mph with speedbox. What happens if you accidentally do so or if you run out of battery and it shots down? Thank you
I've read someone on a forum say that if you power down, when you power up again the countdown resumes. Seems to be doing something to fool the stats in the motor. Like sending a signal that the wheel is still turning so the power used was correct etc.
What’s happens when I unplug the speedbox 3.0? Is it just a normal e bike and is everything working still the same for example the walk button? And do I really need the latest update on the Bosch software to run the speedbox 3.0?
I have a Speedbox 3 fitted to my Scott emtb and have now clocked up 3800Km - everything works fine. One habit you must learn - is to NEVER turn off your display (let it time out) and NEVER plug your charger into the bike until the display has gone blank via its normal time out mechanism. If you turn off the display early, then you will trigger the Bosch anti hacking software on your bike which means a dealer reset.
Did you have 1.5.0 Firmware

Cheers,

Yes, the countdown process depends on the length and speed of the ride - usualy takes a minute or two.

yes bosch software will detect it, but only after few hundreds km.., probably something in the statistics of usage doesn't sum up and it will trigger a tunning detection, happened to me on cx perfomance Gen4, was all good the first rides but after ~300km it started to show random speeds while riding, then error 504, limp mode, and had to take the speedbox 3 out, will not use it again

Can this be used to calibrate a Bosch motor? I don't need to speed, just want to be able to ride 25 instead of being capped just under 23.
@@SpeedBoxTuning so you're basically admitting to tricking the bosch software, then telling people this won't void the warranty. Very nice.

Hi Carlo. We recommend a crank puller for e-bikes where this is needed to remove the crank. We do not recommend a crank puller in general for all e-bikes with a Bosch motor, as we do not know which e-bikes necessarily require a crank puller and which do not. Thank you for your understanding.
Did you resolve this?
Very Nice... but will it void my 2 years warrenty on my bran New cube?
Don't worry. SpeedBox does not void warranty. In case of experiencing warranty, we recommend to uninstall the SpeedBox temporarily.
Clark Fox Yeah I agree. Why mess up your warranty with these hacks for what?
I think it sucks that Bosch/Trek would sabotage the software. You should be free to do whatever you want once the warranty is expired. Does Bosch/Trek warranty the bike for life? NO! Then remove this "limp mode" shit. I'll never buy another Trek or any other BS product that does this to their computers, (ie: TESLA).

If I have Shimano Steps E6100 series motor with 36V 250W 50Nm + 36 V Comfort Li-Ion battery 625Wh (17.4Ah) 40-65Nm what will be the highest max speed ? Thanks
Whoah! You have Good battery i have E6100 its so fun with speedbox but max 50 km/h
Wanna do this with my Tern GSD S10. Has anyone tried it?
Does this work with 2022 Bosch Performance CX (Gen 4) motors (smart system) or do you need the B-tuning?
Hello. No, for your Smart System you need SpeedBox 1.0 for Bosch or SpeedBox 1.0 B.Tuning for Bosch. B.Tuning means Bluetooth, so you can pair you e-bike with SpeedBox App. www.speedbox-tuning.com/p/speedbox-1-0-for-bosch#413 or www.speedbox-tuning.com/p/speedbox-1-0-b-tuning-for-bosch#421
Per my last post - What I mean is - when I turn on using top button do I then each time have to go to the walk button to select 6.1 or whatever the Speedbox is set to please - Or does it remember and pick up from the previous mode I. E either normal or speedbox?
Hi. After switching the e-bike off and on, it is necessary to activate the tuning again. The display shows a value of 9.9 kmh or 6.2 mph. But if you set a maximum speed of, for example, 30 mph, it will stay in memory and you won't have to set it again every time 🙂
I have a performanceline cx gen 3, and i have a speedbox 3.0 with BT. I have a EMTB but not the EMTB program installed? Normaly the emtb is on e mtb in stead of the SPORT program. when i do the update does the speedbox still work?
Yes, SpeedBox is fully compatible with this update. Feel free to download it.
Can you do this without the crank puller? My Speedbox 3 just arrived (Amazon) but now I'm seeing the installation video and it uses the puller. Now I'm finding that Speedbox actually sells it on their website but now I would have to wait awhile for it to arrive.
will this work in a Canadian purchased 2022 Scott Strike BOSCH Performance CX ?
Hello. SpeedBox 1.0 works only for Smart System. SpeedBox 3.0 (B.Tuning) should work with your e-bike.
@@SpeedBoxTuning Thanks..👍🏻
finally got around to having a look inside mine, it actually has five plugs all with wires going into them. can you elaborate on what I need to do or purchase?
Hi, please advise how to activate - adjust Speed Box 3 with Kiox display! Thank you!
The procedure is same on all the displays. Please follow carefully second half of this installation video.
@@SpeedBoxTuning Thank you! After the sequence Turbo-MTB-Tour-Eco / Eco - Tour - MTB - Turbo double press Walk!
I've got a COBI smartphone adapter (came with the Bike). Will it work with the smartphone display? If I get the installation wrong is there some sort of assistance from Speed box? I take it more control via the SpeedBox App
Yes, SpeedBox is fully compatible with COBI. You can reach us on many phone numbers that are situated on our website. You can reach us on Facebook, Instagram, email, etc.
just installed seedbox2 nice 👌
does it mean that i DONT have walk function after i install speed box? also no issues with KIOX? i see only Purion in your vids
Hello. The Walk function also works with SpeedBox installed. The button for the Walk function must be held.
You can check product compatibility here: www.speedbox-tuning.com/p/speedbox-3-0-for-bosch#237
Hi,
I have a 2023 bosh gen4 ebike (Cube)
And i got the Speedbox 3.0B
This has Rectangular plugs but my bicycle has small round plugs.
Will the speed box work on a Bosch performance line ?
Yes, it is fully compatible with Performance line motor.
hello it is ok for eride scott 930 for motor bosh cx generation 4 ? where i can buy it ?
Yes, we confirm compatibility. Link is situated in the video description.
I have a 2022 ebike with the Bosch smart drive system. And I don’t have a display unit. Can I still use this chip and use my phone as the display with the Bosch flow app?
Hello, yes you can use SpeedBox 1.0 for Bosch anyways. Flow app and SpeedBox works together.
@@SpeedBoxTuning but I also have the Bosch wheel rim/valve stem magnet. So is there an update that works for this?
Hello, I have a cube reaction pro 2020 bike with performance line cx motor and it has the unit software 1.0.2.0, is it compatible with this version? Has anyone had problems with this software? Thank you.
@SpeedBox Tuning can you reply to this message as very interested in getting one of your chips
We confirm compatibility with this software version. Feel free to download it.
@@SpeedBoxTuning how can I check my unit software version please?
What size crank puller do you use for a haibike?
once you checked if it functions @2:50 , do you have to let it turn off ? then you show later that you turn it on again. because mine is showing error and i did not let it turn off..i tried setting it to 28mph limit and it still not working...I am waiting for it to turn off by itself now ..
@@earthling2022 Hello. Thank you for the information. We are very happy that everything is working as it should. Of course, if you have any further questions, please contact us at any time. This video was made three years ago. Here we have a new video including a Bluetooth version. It's just a little shorter, the tuning check is only after the engine is covered. Enjoy the spring season and many happy miles 🙂
Good morning, is it still possible to apply this device to the latest engine versions of the Bosch performance line CX engine?
Hello. SpeedBox 3.0 is fully compatible with Bosch motors including the latest versions except Smart System. SpeedBox 1.0 or SpeedBox 1.0 B.Tuning (B like Bluetooth) is intended for Smart System.
Will this work on a trek rail? Is there a tutorial? Thanks for answering!
Yes,I´ve a 9.7 and works ok,awesome!!
Does it work with cobi display? because walk button is ring ring :-)
Yes it does. Activation on Cobi can be done by pressing of + - + -
@@SpeedBoxTuning What is the difference between the speedbox v3 sold in a cardboard box and in a bag?
Are there bike shops that can instal this for you, as I don't have the tools to do it? I have a gen4 15.5mph, but I will be moving to USA later this year where 20mph is the limit.
There is many of them. Depends, where are you from. Only special tool is crank puller though.
Do you have bike models where a tuning device doesn't fit inside? I have a Carver Strict E.410 bike and the place inside that powerunit is razor thin! I don't see a device fitting there inside at all.
Will this Speedbox 3.0 work for Bosch Center Motor Performance line CX Gen 4?
He says this pretty much on the beginning of the movie.
@@SebGruch actually it is more complicated than that because if you do the 85 newton upgrade and so will be the 2021 models by default it seems it will not mork anymore as someone commented here
I have a Trek Super Commuter 7 and the “walk” feature comes deactivated. Can I still use the SpeedBox 3 or should I go with the 3B?
Do you have to activate the walk button and make sure 6.1 or whatever speed you've set each time you ride?
Hi. Yes, you have. It is also a bit of prevention against tuning detection.
Is it worth doing does it compromise the motor life battery life
It's definitely worth it. Give it a chance, you won't regret it.
Will it work with the bosch 4 Gen "cargo" motor? Before software update or after update will be good to install? Thank you
Hello Paul, we recommend to update your system and then install the SpeedBox. SpeedBox 3.0 for Bosch is fully compatible with your eBike.
It says that you shouldn’t turn off display before 0kmh or 0Mph with speedbox. What happens if you accidentally do so or if you run out of battery and it shots down? Thank you
This is a good question!
I've read someone on a forum say that if you power down, when you power up again the countdown resumes. Seems to be doing something to fool the stats in the motor. Like sending a signal that the wheel is still turning so the power used was correct etc.
Will this chip stop you hitting that wall of resistance when max speed is reached.
Yes, this is exactly what SpeedBox does.
What’s happens when I unplug the speedbox 3.0? Is it just a normal e bike and is everything working still the same for example the walk button?
And do I really need the latest update on the Bosch software to run the speedbox 3.0?
Yeah it’s the same if you turn the speed box off. The bike will go back to default.
