EckhartsLadder now that’s what I call unlimited power
You are Awesome
@Drew Schuley
My apologies
I think the acclimator is critically underatted- although less for it's naval power as it's ability to drop an army on any planet at record pace and without the need for resupply along the way ( man that 0.5 hyperdrive is op) and don't forget once it's landed you have got a capital grade armoured and shield command centre - it's certainly way better than the landing craft of other factions.
I agree with the lucrehulk but i would rather have the radus which is way bigger than home 1 in the original trilogy and i agree with home 1 as well so yeah we are prettymuch the same
I AM CAPITALLY IMPRESSED
This is a capital crime deserving of capital punishment, and then I can get a like to capitalise off your comments success
And there I was trying to write an essay...
BEGONE ESSAY
Yeah I was writing my seminary paper too...
Got another 3000 words to go, and need it in by Saturday. SWTOR isn’t exactly helping either
HEEEEEYYYYY!!! I was also writing an essay!
Oh look
I saw the notification so I capitalized on the opportunity to take a break.
Pun aside I’m surprised you went with the Lukerhulk for the clone wars although listening to your explanation it makes sense. I will always love the Venator, it’s probably my favorite Star Wars ship. I’m also surprised that you didn’t go with the carrier variant of the Nebula (sorry I forget the name) but the Nebula is a beast even though it’s small.
the carrier varian tof the Nebula sucks, it has worse firepower, worse pint defence, slightly better shielding, less hangar space, can't get fighters out as fast and is slower than a Venator, despite being newer(though the hull of the Endurance is a lot better, and the hangar isn't a major weak spot)
The Venator really is woefully underpowered for a Star Destroyer type ship. The unusually large hanger space and extensive point defences, in favour of Turbo Lasers, suggests to me that it's more of an "jack of all trades, master of none" Capital Ship that can do anything OK, but nothing excellently. The Lucrehulk, on the other hand, actually manages to be the master at everything. A large part of that is the size advantage, but the usual downside of this (the cost) is mitigated by the enormous savings that come from being a converted cargo hauler.
@@InevitableVitare 3 Venators equal a luchrehulk in canon, that is better than a Victory class stardestroyer could do
Venator has 8 Heavy Dual turbolasers, and 2 further Medium ones, the Lucrehulk has 42 Quad, nevermind the literally hundreds of other weapon emplacements. I don't know what numbers you have that would suggest a mere 3 Venators can match a that.
We see it in the clone wars (we once see three Venators beat a lucrehulk and 8 munificents with some clever strategy and the loss of two Venators)
also the ROTS:ICS.quote about a "flotilla of Venator-SDs needed to bring down their shields" and we see in the clone wars that Venators are usually sent in groups of two-three
Number of weapons doesn't always matter, the Venator pumps more power into those weapons than most ships, and has decent shields
Aye just got home from school, perfect timing
Same
same, also.
The Yuuzhan Vong vs the Dark Eldar.
Zann Consortium vs Jul Mdama's Covenant.
The Separatist Alliance vs the Rebel Alliance.
The Mandalorians (Mandalorian Wars) vs the Swords of Sanghelios.
The Covenant vs the Eldar.
The UNSC (post war) vs The Rebel Alliance.
The Imperial Remnant vs the First Order.
The Dark Elday would beat the Vong unless they are allowed to vongform several worlds first, the Dark Eldar are more numerous than they appear.
I do not believe any ship in the Zann Consortium can stand up to Covenant ships, they damage they ACTUALLY output is just too low. On the ground they would fair better, but I think the Storm Covenant(alternative name) win.
The Separatists had a decent military, despite the B1's, and they probably would take the Rebel more seriously and destroy them outright.
I think this one would be fairly even, although the Elites have the close combat advantage.
I think the Covenant could defeat the Eldar, but only if they isolated the Craftworlds and destroy them one by one. The Eldar are good for lightning fast strikes, but in attritional warfare they falter, and the Covenant Empire has a good deal of resources at its beck and call.
The UNSC would win, because they have the Infinity and its Spartan 4's. I don't like them, but they are still Spartans...
First Order would beat the Imperial Remnant, they have the Resurgent-class battlecruisers, the Mega Star Destroyer, and Starkiller Base. Plus, AT-M6's.
1: The Vong are also rather big and the Dark Eldar are not as well organized nor as well unified as the regular Eldar or the Vong. It has been stated that the mercenaries that the Dark Eldar often hire are more loyal than their own kin. The Vong are on a religious quest and are fighting for the survival of their race at the same time.
2: I think the Keldabes shield draining ability makes it a fair match for smaller and similar sized ships. If paired up with the Aggressor-class Star Destroyer the two could do some real damage.
3: True but I think the Rebels hit and run tactics and mobility would make them very hard to destroy.
4: I am not sure if they would have that much of an edge. There were Wookies within the Mandalorian army and their powerful armor (remember at this time their armor was made out of Beskar). This, along with their great fighting skill could make the fight more even.
5: Agreed, but it would be a very tough war.
6: I don't think a single ship would make to much of a difference. I mean the Empire had many Super Star Destroyers/dreadnoughts and still lost. Same goes for the Spartan 4s, the Empire had Inquisitors and lost to the Rebels.
7: I don't think their ships would matter much, the Remnant had a powerful navy of their own. Starkiller base could be a game changer though
Couldn't the Remnant just take out Starkiller base with the galaxy gun?
@@brucejedilee5290
The Spartans were specifically created to fight insurrection and rebellion. And the UNSC really wouldn't underestimate the rebel alliance.
You copy pasted that from the last video
Would love a look at the mandalorian war ships and the great galactic war
2 star destroyers vs full gta online lobby
Battle scenario: the empire has heard rumors of a city on planet earth that produces indestructible material and unlimited fuel and goes to invade it
Rules for the empire: empire must have their star destroyers near the city of los santos and not in orbit
Depend if gta can use the mods then gta xeelee stomp them if not hi don't know
BXOTROT ___
Hilarious idea, but interesting and it might work out.
No like it he’s like no mines and every DLC on GTA and they have about 600 to 500 people and they can’t respond
@@ashton4043 what are you talking about?
No mods not mines
Best species to clone as soldiers?
Wookies, then Yuuzhan Vong, then Mandalorians.
Ewoks
Humans. They're much smarter than any of the brute species like Wookies, and are naturally durable. Especially with full armor suits.
SpiritVDC nogrhi or wookies if no force sensitivity. If yes to force sensitivity species like the sith or miraluka. Or hell,I wouldn't mind an army of cloned duinuogwuin soldiers
Gungans.
Noice vid. Love the CIS ships.
Recusant Class Light Destroyer vs Something
Recusant has never been featured in a versus.
keep on making that awsome stuff of your's ! it brings delight into my day everyday
Honestly, I'd also choose Lucreshulk for one more reason. It can act as an excellent sort of mobile command centre. Nebula is a masterpiece on its own, and there's no doubt that Imperious was the best vessel of its time.
I have doubts about the MC80 being the absolutely best designed ship of that time, but it's still a great video.
Nothing better than coming home from work and seeing a video from ya mate
Awesome video Eckhart's.
It's cool how you like the lucrehulk because so do I. to the point where I have made a UNSC ODP variant with 1 super Mac attached to the core and 7 mini mac guns on the outer rings, and of course over 200 point defence cannons, 2/3rds of them are lasers and 1/3rd is rotary 14mm cannons. I feel even a whole covenant fleet would have trouble taking down this refit
I don't agree that the MC80 is the best capital ship from the Galactic Civil War era. Sure it has more powerful shields than the Imperial Star Destroyer, but overall it was built as a civilian vessel, not as a dedicated warship and because of this it has a weaker hull and less firepower than the ISD, let alone the Imperial II-class. The placement of the MC80's turbolaser cannons on each side means that it can't concentrate all guns on a single target, unlike the Imperial Star Destroyer. The ISD also has a much larger complement of starfighters in it's hangar.
The ISD can't focus all of it's weapons on a single target. It's turbolasers are mounted in such a way that they physically cannot all fire at the same target. Not even with most of their gun even.
Actually you are wrong! The ISD CAN in fact focus all of it's weapons, including it's main guns, to fire on a frontal single target by dipping its bow downward. It's mentioned in Wookieepedia.
@@rng_lord1276 it can,but this arc is very small, like 15 or 20 angular degrees wide. The problem with gun placement is that if ISD tries to maneuver, target will leave the killzone. The ship was designed without the idea that it has to maneuver, which makes it vulnerable to flanking attacks by small fast corvettes/frigates and MC80s,which don't have that problem
Василий Данилов you forget that the ISD is also armed with several tractor beam projectors positioned on the fore, port and starboard of the ship for capturing smaller ships like corvettes and frigates, so flanking attacks are not really a problem!
Firepower isn't everything for making a ship great, the MC80 bested the star destroyer un flexibility, and it had the best shields available, capable of withstand full barrages, and it might not be able to face a star destroyer directly, but it didn't needed to, it could out range an ISD and it had the weapons necesary to kill it with the right strategy, plus you could customized it for a variety of roles, even making it a proper Capital ship Killer by adding better weapons than what an ISD has, like proton torpedoes, particle cannons, etc. Also, along with its better fighter compliment, the MC80 itself could destroy fighters with its heavy weapons thanks to its advance targeting system, something than none Imperial star destroyer could even dream to do, plus, that thing of "weaker hull" is pretty debatable, cause variants like Home One, the MC80B and even the Liberty class had very strong hulls, the one I think it has really a weak hull is the MC80a, outside of smaller ships like the MC40a, for obvious reasons
I love the design philosophy of the Fel & Krayt Empire ships in the Legacy Era. The Pellaeon and Imperious Star Destroyers and the Ardent Fast Frigate are some of my favorite ship designs in Star Wars.
That thumbnail pic of the Imperial ship is utterly stunning !!!!
Ach! Uploaded right as i went off break! But, amazing video Eck!
So early that the E-Wings were still canon.
E wings are canon
EckhartsLadder GAWK! THEY ARE?!??
Blue Milk fuck off im not getting on Zsinj went to eb
Well, they is a cameo of one in the Poe Dameron comic. May someday be on screen too...
Another awesome video
The Lucrehulk is also my favorite. It's just awesome!
home one is one of my favorites but I also love that finale super star destroyer class you showed toward the end of the video the final big ship
It would be interesting to see your opinion of the old Republic era of battle ships like the Thranta-class corvettes, Valor-class cruisers, Harrower-class dreadnoughts and Terminus-class destroyers. All four ships were the back-bones of the Sith and Republic navies respectivly in the Great Galactic war and the following Cold War.
The lucrehulk is one of my favourite ships! It can just as easily be a station as well as a carrier ship
The nebula is probably my favorite of the bunch mentioned here, even when considering the lucrehulk. Who knew such a relatively small ship could kick so much ass?
I'm glad that someone is finally getting some love. I have loved it forever. Its so OP that it shouldnt exist... But it does
2:11 "Sure you won't be running any blockades with it." I see what you did there!
The Lukrehulk refit is my personal favorite. Since I first played Starcraft Ive had a love for super carriers or carriers that are also well armed.
Video idea: What was the state of the Confederacy of Independent Systems by the time the Clone Wars ended with the deactivation of the droid armies? With the separatist council in hiding, first on Utapau, then on Mustafar, it calls into question how bad off they were. Its also interesting that there was apparently no separatist fleet to speak of at Utapau, where the council was, which again raises the question- was this a strategic choice, or had the fleet been decimated so badly at the battle of Coruscant that there wasn't a fleet left to speak of? Greatly enjoy your videos, thanks for all the good work!
Great vid once again!!
126th Attempt:
Reapers vs. Yuuzhan Vong
Videos únicos de estrategias ,Lore y curiosidades de Star wars...eso sí,alguien debería subtitular tus videos para que lleguen a más gente (mí opinión)
Yay another video
Can we get a very detailed vid on the mc140 please I love it and wanna know more about it
Honestly I would just like to hear your opinion on the Mandalorian Kandosii-type Dreadnought, anyway fun video and best of luck to you
Do the Old Republic Interdictor VS 1 or 2 Dreadnaught class heavy cruiser. Ive been requesting this for months, please notice this.
Totally agree on your number 1, the lukerhulk is highly underrated
Dreadnought, Dreadnought, Katana Dreadnought, Legacy Dreadnought.
I pretty much agreed with your whole list, though I do not have enough knowledge of the Legacy era to weigh in with any confidence. Time to go grab some audiobooks!
I love the secutor as a multi-role ship for galactic civil war
Damn you Eckhart I'm trying to do my homework!
"Lucrehulk retrofitted during the Clone Wars is the best ship of it's era." *Fanatically hammers like button on phone*
Where did you find the art for the gladiator? That was really well done.
The Nebula is easily my favorite warship in all of star wars. I also agree with you that the Mon Calamari ships were fantastic as well. I like the MC80 Liberty because it looks cooler but the Home One type was easily the best ship of the era. If the Rebellion had better funding to allow them to challenge the Empire head on then they would have creamed the Empire in my opinion. They're ships, starfighters and even their tactics were better. The Mon Cala fishtanks really are something to behold.
I'm glad the Carrack-class at least got a mention. It is a solid workhorse of a warship. If there was a list of most reliable capital ships the Carrack would be near or at the top.
Like this Best of every ERA maybe next Best Fighter, Bomber, Tank, Artillery, Spec Op's Troops & even maybe a more In Depth look at some diff Hero's or "Villains"
Now this is just my opinion but I think the Type 77 M0M Spaghet was the greatest Star Wars ship ever. Could carry upwards of 2 million tons of moms spaghetti and a massive complement of M3AT B011 fighters. To bad we never see it in the movies
We need to have a huge livestream, where you just, talk. I would love that and we can ask questions and do things.
Hi... It would be great to see who would win in a free for all bar room brawl in the Canteena Bar.... Could you make a video on that.
could you do a video on the best ship overall out of these?
You should do a video on how you would change the venator like you did with the star destroyer
What star fighter video is Eck talking about in the beginning of this episode? I can't remember the last tie i missed a video and it feels dirty knowing one got away...
My favourite is definetely the venator class. I just love the shape of it.
Cool vid
From watching all your videos I knew from the start it would be lucrehulk mon cal nebula and imperious
I agree with some of your choices. I think the Venator is exceptional though because its lack of capitol ship weapons. The MC80 was relatively insufficiently armed but well armored with good shields and a strong hull. They also held fewer fighters than SD's. On the flipside, the MC80B such as Mon Remonda and the later MC90 series were awesome. Another excellent ship pound for pound would be the modified RSD Dreadnaught series Assault Frigate. Some smaller ships also pound for pound were awesome. Corellian Gunships for instance for their size and power were very dangerous. Victory II's were also another great ship that corrected some of the earlier model flaws. All in all it comes down to the tactics involved in an engagement. An Imperator SD I or II series could be extraordinarily potent if used correctly, even more so in the hands of the New Republic which used large numbers of them but with a much more capable fighter contingent. If you give an SD a wing of Republic fighters say 1 A-wing, 3 X-wing and 2 B-wings and you have some serious firepower.
For the clone wars
I like the venator since I loved the design and multipurpose variations with very well made bones for my carrier
I have liking for two ships
I Agree with eckhartsladder with the Nebula class star destroyer for legends but for cannon my favorite is the starhawk class star destroyer from the aftermath series
The Ascendant Spear is forever one of my favorites
The Crimson Command’s upgraded Victory 2 Star Destroyers hit the right marks for me. An armament second only to the ISD, upgraded shields which probably place it close to an ISD in shielding quality, enough fighters to support itself, all in a compact package. If, for instance, the fighter compliment was made up of something better than the fighters readily available to the empire, while still being compact, like A wings or droid tri fighters, the crimson command vsd’s would’ve been some of the best pound for pound capital ships of their day.
I’m watching this in class :P
I love the lucerhulk battleship too
can you breakdown the second battle of geonosis and what the republic could have done differently?
Could you make a video explaining how bombers and proton torpedoes are so powerful in the SW universe and why we never see any capital ship firing these?
Damn it, Eck! I wanted to go to sleep!
@eckhartsladder pls do a video on the zann consortium. Or the black sun
I'm creating my own Terrodine class star destroyer. It has two Massive forward facing long range uTL's, a 360° firing arc, heavy forward and broadside weapons, a point defense system, about 8 squadrons of fighters, a class 1.18 hyperdrive
Only thing I’ll say, for best capital ship, you should take into account how many galactic Credits are. So example. How much money would a single luckerhulk cost in comparison to a few venators or providences? Bang for your buck. But that’s just me, great video like always!
Sith Empire Harrower. Heavy guns, thick armor, good fire coverage, and solid amount of fighters. If it had a better air superiority it would be unstoppable. Not the posted eras but still.
Would be interesting and efficient to retrofit old ISD's to Nebulon style and use the extra size to add point defense. While not as good as a brand new purpose built ship, it would be a good use of all those ISD's lying around.
Could you cover some Stargate content please ? For example the Ori try to invade the Star wars Galaxy
Could we have a galactic versus between the UNSC infinity and the battlestar Galacttica please
Unsc vs alliance from mass effect. Both versions of humanity duking it out would be cool.
Systems Alliance. It would be very close, but I think the Alliance would win that one.
Handsome Jack Don’t forget, UNSC has Spartans and specifically Master Chief
What would you classify the ships in Empire at war? Legends or Cannon and would you have considered them? Just wondering because the Mandator II was in service during the clone wars and there was the Rothana Destroyer.
I like the turbulent star destroyer for the warlord era
Hey Eckhart, i have a request, this might be a bit out of your wheel house, but still I'd like to ask. Could you do a video on dieselpunk? It and grimdark are my two favourite genre's. dieselpunk because of the mechs and overall design. grimdark because warhammer 40k. If you do the video, much love and thanks. If not oh well, i still enjoy your videos.
Anyone know y so many UA-cam Channels like this 1 don't put in Full ENGLISH Subtitles? I like to make sure sometimes I dont miss anything and the Eng Auto Gen is lacking. Is it harder to install, cost more take to much time?
Great video with great points, but I'd have to disagree with your take on the MC140,; the whole point of mounting it's weapons on a blade is to create a cross of fire - a point in front of the ship where, when flown into, would prove deadlyy for any ship. While it's broadsides where vulnerable, it easily compensated for it with it's powerful almost fighter-like engines. It can act more like a massive gunship and that was the whole point of the design.
But I don't know maybe that's just me
I'd personally say that the Chiss star destroyer is a better mainline ship then the Nebula. It is shown to have considerable firepower and it's cloak drive and Clawcraft compliment make it an extremely versitile ship that can engage the enemy always when it's at an advantage
My all time favourite was Aclimator.
My favourite warships have to be the Bellator and Assertor Class for the Empire, the MC80 and Viscount Class for the Rebel Alliance and New Republic respectively, and the Paelleon Class star destroyer for the Legacy era.
I have a soft spot for Star destroyers. A bog standard Imperial Class if it had it's full compliment of fighters, troops and vehicles has a great amount of versatility for space combat, planetary support and invasion. It may have not been the best at all three but it did all three decently
I kinda liked the design of the old Sith Empire's ship design best. I can't help it the Harrower and Mark VI Supremacy looks good to me.
I like the mon calamari cruisers with just the shields and the weapons range of the guns
Clone Wars: Yah, the Battleship refit of the Lucrehulk takes it for me as well. I would prefer smaller normally, but it fully embraced its role as a mobile and heavily armed space station. :)
Galactic Civil War: While it technically overlaps Clone Wars and Galactic Civil War, the Marauder Corvette is hard to beat for versatility in its standard configuration. While only able to carry a single squadron of fighters and not matching a gunship like the DP-20 in pound for pound damage output, in my opinion it strikes a fair balance between carrying capacity and armament. The missile refit isn't bad as a dedicated fire support platform, though the Diamond Boron Missiles that it was supposed to be outfitted with are approaching super weapon levels of Du Ex Machina damage.
For the New Republic and Legacy eras I'm only peripherally familiar with the capital ship developments there (allot of reused ships during the New Republic era) though the Quasar Fire class carrier (Truce at Bakura) comes to mind for the New Republic era and that Fell Empire Star Destroyer with the planetary Turbolaser mounted spinally (Does that count as a super weapon? Makes for one heck of a fleet fire support vessel if not.) for Legacy era. I'll admit, I like fire support/siege ships with spinal mounted heavy weaponry, just not at a planet killing damage level.
What about the Dreadnought heavy Cruiser, aka the SW Battlestar without flight pods? i know it doesn't compare to the Tactical reconnaissance Dreadnought but still it's worth an effective design
Love the vid, but what about old republic?
I'd go with Resurgent class for New Republic era. Protected bridge, overall improved over old SDs.
For the Old Republic era, I would Say the Harrower-class Dreadnought....it has tons of guns, and quite a lot of fighters, and can carry 7,000 soliders, so it is a Perfect combination of all 3 classes(Battleship, Carrier, and Assault Ship), while Only being around 800 meters long, give or take.
Can anyone help me, I’m trying to remember what the name was of tuber Zann’s ship in Empire at war: forces of corruption
Why there's a Resurgent Sith Empire ship on the video preview and no ships from the Great Galactic War era? It's kinda strange...
Top5 best and worst mobile suits both grunt type and custom in the gundam franchise.
Lucrehulk-Class Battleship (Battle of Corusant-Lucrehulk) Vs Nebula-Class Star Destroyer
Lucrehulk
The Viscount Star Defender is unquestionably the New Republic's most powerful spaceship.
So a way I see the tech change is Clone vs CIS is WW1, Empire vs Rebellion is WW2, then after is modern era
I have to agree with this list the venator was ahead of its time in my opinion the shields reactors and turbasers of the era where just not there for it perhaps with these the ship would be more capable
My Picks
-Clone Wars: Either Admiral Trench's Providence Dreadnought or like you said, the Lucrehulk (but if were counting super weapon ships then hands down the Malevolence)
-GCW: The Interdictor Star-Destroyer (Not Cruiser mind you) because it A) succeed in the Tarkin Doctrine (the rebels were terrified of it) B) Could support itself as a LONE patrol ship and C) When used properly (Like when Thrawn got a hold of a few) could decimate enemy fleets and to quote Leia *"If the Empire knew how to build smart-not just big-they would have made thousands more Interdictors. If they had, we might not have survived."*
-New Republic: I don't know much about this era but I'm gonna have to go with the Vong Worldship
-Legacy: I know less about this era than the last so I'm just take your pick, the Imperious
I know the Imperial line of SDs and the Executor-class were SUPER flawed in their design...but they're my favorite space vessels, let alone Star Wars vessels, EVER. Sure I'll go down to one wayward A-Wing but I'll look damn good doing it!
I think the valiant a fan made star destroyer is great
Clone Wars Era: I'd have to agree. If I were to build a fleet using only CW Era ships, I'd use the Lucrehulk as my main fighter-carrying force with a couple Venators as command ships holding elite squadrons or specialized units. (I like a heavy Droid/Organic mix. Droids are the main backbone, organics are the ace up the sleeve)
Galactic Civil War Era: Again, I'm inclined to agree. Similarly to before, were I to make a fleet with only GCW ships, the MC80s would be my prime choices for command ships; though they'd be a lot more "front-line command" than the Venators. I'd possibly bring more fighters in with Gladiators, but I'd need to know they were protected by something.
0:37 you always show this picture......
Haha XD
