    NTA. The plans were already made. It would be unfair to your guest to make your MIL feel better about her backup plan.

    Oh heck no! Stick to your plans. But have your husband tell her that next ye ar there will be no cooperating with endlessly changing plans. Once the die is cast, it's cast. She seems to enjoy causing upheaval.

    Let your husband and daughter go to MIL for thanksgiving. You do what you want with your family. Or, have separate days to celebrate with both families. Just let your husband be the only one to communicate with his mother about the plans. Remove yourself from her mental illness. There will be no pleasing your MIL.

      No, there would ABSOLUTELY be more stress. I know you kids have never been married, but you should know before you do that way in the future, divorce is sooooo much harder AND you lose half your shit in the process.

      This isn't divorce worthy. This is talk to FIL about how MIL is acting and treating everyone. This is confront MIL about what she is doing. Record the confrontation. When she goes telling the family lies about the confrontation. Send them the video.
