  • In this video we will discuss nephrotic syndrome in a way that is easy to understand, learn, and most importantly to REMEMBER! We will start by focusing on the clinical features of nephrotic syndrome. We will then tie each one of those clinical features into the various pathophysiologic abnormalities that result from nephrotic syndrome. It is much easier to remember the clinical features of a disease if you can connect each and every clinical feature to the disease pathology in a way that is straightforward and makes sense! We will do this using drawings and diagrams. After this, we will then discuss the work up (labs, imaging, biopsies) that aid in diagnosing and managing nephrotic syndrome. Again, connecting each one of these studies to the pathophysiology and clinical features of the disease. We will touch briefly on the different major causes of nephrotic syndrome and how diagnosis differs for each one. We will not focus specifically on each major cause and it's management, as those will be topics for future videos! Check out this video to finally master that confusing disease known as Nephrotic Syndrome!

Are you a nephron? I always find nephrology daunting. Well done and I learned a lot. Am I missing something or are afferent and efferent reversed?
