Great video mate. It's good to see government investment in recreational fishing. Is that partly funded by fishing licence revenue? We don't have any licence requirements in SA, and it shows. There is hardly any public investment in boat ramps, limited fish stocking, and minimal regulatory control. I've seen a fisheries officer once in the last 4 seasons, and that was at the boat ramp. My mates and I would happily pay for a licence if it meant the money would flow back into recfishing.
Hey Louis, yes it is partly funded by the fees received from victorian licences. I had no idea that was the situation in SA. We have seen some awesome restocking programs and development to recreational fishing facilities including new boatramps. Thanks for the awesome feedback.
Very cool, but one thing that is very different in stocking between here and the States, in the States they wait until the fish are much larger in size, the hope is they don't become food for other fish are wildlife. Great question and answer session too, well done!
There’s no chance Eppalock had anywhere near up to a 20% stocking success with Cod. Personally think Fisheries would have more success if the stocked less Cod fingerlings & more cod that were at least 12 months old. That way at least they wouldn’t be Reddy fodder. Its also a bit disappointing Eppalock only set to receive 400,000 fingerlings this yr not the 700,000 it has received over each of the last 2 seasons.

Interesting Larry, yes it's a question I would like to ask the FVA. You're not the only one who has aked this question. Thanks for tuning in.
Exciting stuff!!
Sicko mate
You can probably tell people now you have caught 100+ cod in a day now when you scooped up those fingerlings 😂
😃 Yes it's not often I had over 10,000 + cod in the boat.
i reckon a handful will survive the redfin onslaught

Thanks for the feedback - you have some really interesting points. Yes agree I believe the success rate would vary greatly at each waterway.
