I had exactly that, with the supercharger on my first engine, and would stop with the side panels on. But now working having filed supercharger . HOWEVER second engine I filed out supercharger and still didn’t work. I found it’s the motor mounting as the shaft through the firewall wasn’t centered. So I had to file the hole in the firewall as the black connector that connects the motor to the shaft was fouling against the firewall. So I have it working with sides on, but as soon as I attach the propellor it stops. I noticed you didn’t connect the propeller ! Now I have to say I’m still on the 3v so I’m praying once I get the new battery pack that it will drive the propeller on my 2nd engine. The first engine runs with propeller and 3v but the 2nd engine will run just as yours does on 3v but attach propeller and it won’t work. To me the answer is dreadful motors. Had Hachette spent a couple of pence more on better motors with better torque it would work fine, the extremely small friction caused by the supercharger just wouldn’t have occurred with a better quality motor. These motors are dreadful and couldn’t pull the skin of a rice pudding and will stop at the slightest thing
My 1st engine had a problem with the firewall and I asked for a replacement and that cured that. The 2nd engine works with the propeller as does the 1st but as the propeller is a poor fit with the nacelle, it can be hit and miss. The propeller needs another connector to ensure a snug fit and then hopefully we won't have any further issues. Also put some silicon grease on the front of the nacelle between that and the propeller to see if that improves rotation but it still rubs on the front of the nacelle.

Hi John, with the amount of money spent on these models I don’t think we should have to troubleshoot what is obviously a poor and cheap unit.
