I was refused a refund because i left the game on the menu for too long on day one. I 100% the achievements on Steam, the only thing that made me very happy was the controller support for games. No amount of multiplayer improvements can save this game unless significant content is dropped such as maps from the PSP games or cross-platform support is added.

I did play a few full 64 player games before everyone gave up on the game and stopped playing

@@hamsanner on PlayStation 4 it was laggy right when I died or spawned sometimes but what’s weird is that when I was actually alive and running around the map it surprisingly wasn’t very laggy especially with what everyone online was saying about the game
Thanks to this collection, i managed to love Nightdive Studios (Quake 2 remaster specifically) even more.

The ps5 version has no background music ever since the 3rd patch
I'll probably end up buying this game, but not until it's at least 40% off. $35 USD is kinda steep if this game was perfect and had stable servers at launch. With no player base, it is a lot for a pair of 20 year old pick-up-and-play single player games.
It is currently on sale now but personally I think it's nowhere near good enough, it will eventually be on a good enough sale though I'm sure
What scares me the most is I'm pretty sure Aspyr are the people in charge of the Knights of the Old Republic Remake (at least that's what the teaser trailer from a couple years back said) that's supposedly not dead and has been in development for a long time. I really don't get how they could mess this up so bad. If I recall right they remastered the first three Tomb Raiders in February and those were well received. Like I said I just don't get how someone could mess this up so bad. Especially when they have proven that they can do it and do it quite well with Tomb Raider.
for Tomb Raider. they hired modders to do the work for them
@@darthmaul5413 so I guess a lot of the visual changes (ground textures draw distance detail etc) from the classic Battlefront 1 and 2 to Battlefront 1 and 2 on the Classic Collection was their attempt to mod it themselves without hiring people? That would make sense considering I heard accusations that wouldn't surprise me if their true that they stole modders remade textures from modding sites and applied them to the game (and some cases didn't even apply them correctly) and didn't give payment or even credit to the proper sources. That scares me even more for Knights of the Old Republic Remake because if they struggle to even mod games what business do they have remaking a game from the ground up especially a game like Knights of the Old Republic? This sounds like a recipe for disaster and when they have to say after being asked multiple times about it's status that it's still in development and not dead considering the time that's elapsed from the teaser trailer and then the radio silence for the next couple years I wouldn't be surprised if it's deep in development hell right now. Which is very unfortunate.
@@justinjames858 the Knights of the Old Republic Remake was move from Aspyr to Saber Interactive the demo build from Aspyr apparently failed to impress when shown to Lucasfilm and Sony given how star wars classic collection turn out i say that was a good call

Is this game alright to buy on PS5 and play if i strictly wanna play it as a single player game just how I used to play it on the PS2? I dont have a PC. If I just want to play Instant Action against bots is it playable?
With all the fixes made to the game since launch, if you want to play it offline, absolutely go for it. The game runs great. BUT for anything online, it's not worth it :)
I can’t believe aspyr still can’t even fix the the damn game, if they can’t fix, i’ll just buy the two original games for PC CD ROM.
I have this game and I do want to try it again. I just wish that people would give it one more chance after this update and get back online so we can maybe get online matches going again

I feel like it's still worth it if you own a console. The game has improved a lot since launch, it's more stable, and unlike PC, there is literally no alternate version play console online PVP, which is the intended experience. I feel like a lot of the criticism comes from PC primarily because the worse launch and the of the larger online community that spoke out about it.

The campaign missions be broken too.. I look 1 direction half the map loads and I can see through stuff while buildings are colliding in eachother. This has set in stone for me to never ever ever pre order a game again especially from ASPYR the biggest scam company

100% right here. It's sad because now it is in a good place but there's no one playing!
Lets not forget that even battlefront 2 2017 is more cheap on sale then the classic collection but they are all great games (except the classic collection of course)

depends what you want. I picked collection because of Split screen.
People are very critical. But Aspyre is doing their best, and mistakes can happen to anyone over anything. But they are dedicated to this and it shows by how hard they are trying to make it a perfect experience.
But people being overly critical is what kills amazing games, such as Battlefront 2 2017. But the classic collection is amazing as it stands right now. I love the experience I'm having and I'm playing it on the Switch. No issues or bugs, and just having a blast reliving my childhood.

Oh no people have every right to be critical. Obviously you can't expect a perfect launch, especially if you have an online game but it's not too hard to make a rough estimate how based on wishlists and polls how much server capacity you'll need to host the ~6k players that wanted to play.
And EA Battlefront 2 deserved the treatment it got, too. EA put tons of micro transactions in it and it took them 2 years to make it playable.However the grind was still awful for new players and by that time the playerbase never really recovered. The full potential that it might have had was never reached. It could have become an ultimate shooter classic. The rift between new and experienced players was just too big at this point. I know the game still had an active audience and wasn't dead but the audience could have been way bigger if Devs just were more thoughtful before launching their game.

@@hamsanner ya I’ve never been too big into the online aspect. I don’t play often enough to be as good as people that play a lot so I’ve always avoided online portions in any game I play.
Offline wise, yes.
The file size of the game is reduced, a lot has been fixed, and now it's as good as the original releases of these games.
Online wise, no, but I don't care for online for these Battlefront games anyways.
EA's Battlefront games are better for online.

I just gave it a try and I would say the update fixed it or at least to me. I didn’t have any issues. Only problem is now is that there is very few people playing.
I really hope people see this comment and maybe give it another try, I really hope people go back on and maybe we can get a few full matches and maybe people will see that and go back on. (But the chances are very low, I feel like everyone has completely given up on this game except for the few people playing)

I completely agree! I feel like if we got a big enough community and I keep making videos on it I hope we could at least get some traction and get a full lobby at some point. I haven't had a full lobby that was without any lag so if people could see how good it was maybe they would give it a chance. And yes sure! My PSN is HamSanner

@jango-fetrsw972 This game had 1-3 servers tops for over a 100,000+ people. Each server can only carry 64 people tops and in this case they couldn't even do that.
