I am 71,and once a year the school went to Bertram Mill's Circus(UK).As well as the circus and and menagerie,there was a FunFair,including a Flea Circus.The fleas were quite large(but not that large) and came from horses(I think that they are the largest of animal fleas) They had parasols etc glued to them(Not kind to them maybe)The last part of the act was the flea guy counting,and saying~"Oh well one is missing,but I know you will give them a good home"Amazing how many people went out scratching!

Aha! Now I get it, (duh ) Goober was cousin of Gomer Pyle...

Goober! Who woulda thunk it? George was a fine actor. To play the character of Goober, the way he played it, you know he was good at what he did.

I remember visiting the flea cirus at Belle Vue Manchester England a few times in the 1950s
I always thought that Belle Vue was an insane asylum.
Four years later, the paths of George Lindsey and Jim Nabors would cross both on "The Andy Griffith Show" and on TTTT. On 4/13/64, Lindsey made his debut as Goober Pyle in preparation for him to replace Nabors as a regular cast member on TAGS. A month later, Jim Nabors appeared in his final episode of TAGS, showing him as a U.S. Marine, sort of a pilot episode of "Gomer Pyle, USMC". That show began to air in the new 1964-65 season. On 10/26/64, Jim Nabors made a rather forgettable appearance as a guest panelist on TTTT to help promote his new show.

I guessed Barbara #3 just based on how she pronounced her first name at the very beginning.
I love how the ones guessing then turn around and try to state what they feel someone answered wrong when it was actually a correct answer.

Agents did everything they could to get their up and coming clients on these shows, just to get them used to cameras, mics, etc. Goober here, Tom Selleck, on The Dating Game, etc. You never know who's watching.
There is a long list of future stars who made their appearances on such shows. If you have watched any of Grouch's You Bet your Life you can see many as well.

Wow, that IS bad! I had never noticed it before. If you want to see the best comb-over in the history of comb-overs, see John Daly, it's a doozy!
I don't think it's a hairpiece. He looks like he has extremely curly hair which has been flattened down with Brylcreem or similar styling product of that era.
