Nice video! You mentioned using Lightroom and DaVinci Resolve which is great. There are comments on Reddit that the physical keyboard plays a lot on the table as there are no rubber feet. Also that pin connectors scratch the desk surface a lot. Also that the lower screen is much brighter and colour profiles don't match. Please comment. I would really live this to work properly.
The keyboard when separate do have feet but only at the bottom end. In terms of play I didn’t find it moving around too much when I had my weight on it. But I can see what some people may not like. If you purposefully push it around, it will move. In terms of the scratching, from what I can tell it’s not the pins, but the bottom feet I had mentioned earlier that are in contact with the surface. These are plastic instead of rubber so that’s the scratching sound they hear. I do wish these were rubber as well, but it’s not something that bothered me personally. I didn’t even realize until I read this haha. As for the screens, this was not my experience. Both screens look the same to me. I do however have the 2k / FHD version here in Canada. Maybe this is a 3k screen issue ? Not sure but this isn’t the case for me.
Thanks for the detailed reply! You do care for your viewers and you deserve following! I got the 3K version in the meantime. The thing about screen brightness is a bug. After a while the upper screen does become more dimmed. But going to settings and adjusting brightness simultaneously for both screens, they match immediately. About the keyboard, it's thin and plastic. I guess to keep it light. Mine looks slightly bent. Magnets are strong. On the upper side the magnet is in the center. Lifting it at the corners the keyboard bents slightly. It would have been better if they put two magnets in corners as at the bottom side. But this doesn't affect usability. Pins do protrude just a fraction over the plastic. But I got the pad in the box. So no chance to scratch and it doesn't play. All in all a great product which can be improved in details. I love it! I didn't get the backpack, as the unboxing videos show.
@@zeljkovedris8360 I got the top spec as well. I saw the comments - and a convincing photo - on Reddit about the keyboard's pogo pins scratching a table, and other comments about it sliding around while in use. To avoid the possibility of both, I cut an old Yoga mat the exact dimensions of the keyboard. Whenever I work with the keyboard off the unit I put the mat under it so whatever surface it's on is protected. Also, and perhaps more importantly, the underside of the keyboard is well protected. In addition to 2-way protection, the mat is a really nice touch because it gives the keyboard more of a solid-base like feel, even though it - the mat - is thin. The stability of the keyboard not moving its place while working also lends to the solid-base feel. I cut the mat precisely so it's barely detectable underneath it. It's also super easy to pack the mat to take with. I highly recommend it! I do see the screen brightness difference, but only if I turn the brightness all the way down. I saw a few comments by users who are really bothered by it. It's not a issue for me. I use Dark Reader for 99% of my web SAAS work, which I use for basically all my work, and dark settings every where else. My eyes don't tolerate white screens (plus they get on my nerves aesthetically). In fact I keep my brightness at 100% all the time. One of the joys of these beautiful oled screens is their visual richness, which IMHO is best taken in at full brightness.
Thanks for the video. I bought my here in UK. It cost £2000 for the ultra i9 with 2 tb ssd. Do you think the price worth it? Seems the same version in US is cheaper, when converted to GBP.
Nice Start with the drone shot, but I am not amazed by your nail clippers to open the packet. You also could just connect the laptop to a second display thats bigger
Would you think the Core Ultra 7 model is enough for a few years' use? It's the one I'm considering because the base model also has the lesser-resolution display which they say should make it more energy efficient for the battery.
Yeah I haven’t had issues with it tbh. Unless you’re doing some heavy workloads then maybe in a couple years you’ll start to notice. But the ultra 7 seems super capable.
You should get the top spec. I have one, and believe me the performance and screen quality are worth any adjustments you find you need to make to increase battery use. BTW, battery life in conventional laptop mode is excellent! When going dual-screen, the experience and performance is worth it...plus the 120hz make's it super-smooth.
I got mine yesterday. The I-9 version just a wonderful machine. I tried the HP Spectre X360, 2024 with the I 7 CPU two weeks ago. Fun fact. Fusion 360 rucks on both machines. But on the HP it got a warning about a too slow on the graphic. But not on the Asus.
This particular one I got in Canada didn’t come with stylus or mouse. As for comparison to Lenovo yoga, tbh I haven’t tried it personally so can’t comment yet! But if I get my hands on it I’ll be sure to update you!
This is what I'm wanting to see also. To me, hardware wise, the 360° hinge vs not is a big factor. Also the built-in kickstand vs the separate stand; as well as the track pad.
I work in an architectural office and sometimes have to carry out high-resolution rendering processes. Does this laptop have the capability to handle this so that I can also use it for this purpose in my home office?
I want to buy zenbook duo ux8406 But I am afraid to face problems and lagging during working 3d architectural programs in the 2 screens at the same time I think there is weak gpu and missing nividia card Can you help me
Great video. Can you see yourself switching to this type of machine? Or do you prefer the MacBook Pro? Also since you have the 14 inch MacBook Pro m3 max would you ever go back to the 16 inch size?
Thanks for watching! If I wasn’t using Final Cut Pro daily, 100% this would tempt me to make a complete switch. Even now, if I’m not editing on a trip or something, I’d love to take this instead. In terms of MacBook pro sizing, na I’m in love with the 14”. Don’t miss the 16.

Asus: Dig our product? Too bad you can't purchase it huh? We'll flood the market with reviews and keep it out of stock for months instead! Sounds like a plan Asus.
I also faced difficulty ordering this laptop in many places, but I was lucky to buy one when I traveled to Taiwan. The laptop is indeed very good but there's one important point to note: the first screen is very thin, so even if it's kept in a bag, if it accidentally falls, it's easy to crack. My laptop was in my bag and fell from a 1.5-meter shelf, resulting in the first screen cracking😢
Guy in a another video said it feels just like any regular tablet for notes and the 120 Hz display keeps it smooth. I also would like to use it for school notes, sadly not many reviewers comment on it.
Can you answer your iPhone calls on your Asus? Can you receive and send text messages on your Asus? I work from home. Two displays would be great. The thing is that I need to copy and paste codes from my test messages, and I really enjoy the ease of calling from my PC.
@@TausifHussain Can you post a video? :-) Microsoft's implementation was terrible. Asus's worked like crap too. I wonder how Intel's implementation is. You'll be the first one on UA-cam too...
It is a niche product, as 99% of us do not need a portable two-display setup. Zero use for my workflow, but I am sure some people will buy it if they are portable and need two displays. I have external displays at home or work, so the Duo's advantages are moot. No dGPU is also negative, along with its price (starting at £2000).
Im skeptical on the review because you just said gaming an skip below it should be mentioned this will suck at gaming unless its a very weak game you are playing or super old games. This would def be great for productivity but gaming its not something to get this for.
Batterylife is still laughably terrible at 5-6 hrs og light use, om combination with Windows terrible sleep mode/shutdown practices This will be a bad experience for sure.
Oh I would buy that, for doing video editing though, I'd need 32 GB of RAM, the most that it'll come with, having experience with Apple using MacBooks with M chips, this thing is the same idea, the system shares the RAM with the CPU and GPU, so the RAM acts as vRAM too. I'll use it for other stuff too, it's actually a perfect laptop for school, two screens makes it easier for multitasking. I can lets say run a homework assignment on one of the screens, then look up information to answer questions for the homework assignments on the other screen.
Great review, video and energy. Thank you.
