It’s hilarious that Barbie is more controversial than a movie about the life of the person who created the atomic bomb.
Barbie has always been a controversial toy since it came out so the tables have turned in adapting it to a movie 😂
Never underestimate the right-wing grifters ability to manufacture outrage.
had me thinking back to the month Captain Marvel came out and the 200,000,000 identical neckbeard angry reaction thumbnails...
Tbf there’s been debate and controversy over Oppenheimer since the trinity test
Its almost like near documentary level biopics have more realism than the 327th "men=bad" feminazi movie to come out this decade. Who'd have guessed!?

So original
Barbenheimer has the same energy as when Animal Crossing and Doom Eternal dropped at about the same time during COVID. Two really good pieces of art, both good in their own right but wildly different in atmosphere and theme, released simoultaneously
Oh my god yeaaaaah.
Yep I had this vibe too. I’m still disappointed with New Horizons tho. I dropped it after a few months
@@katlyndobransky2419 It was one of my favorite games for about a year, played it the minute it came out. Now revisiting it i'm just so sorely dissapointed by everything, they just completely gave up on the game and it has almost less content than new leaf did, such a shame. Went from one of my fav games to a game i'll probably never play for more than 10 minutes at a time every few months.
Amazing. I used this same example to explain to my partner.
It also felt the same in how there was a “rivalry”, but no one actually wanted the other to lose. Just both of them to win.

The best part about Barbie's "they tell you the main theme over and over again" complain (a valid one as I felt the same) is that dude bros and morons still take it the wrong way.
I can’t even blame movies anymore for having their characters look at the camera and state the theme after going on the internet.
barbie basically has a character stare at the camera and say "treating people worse on the basis of gender is categorically wrong" and people took that as saying men bad
Yeah, I was thinking that this movie was hamfisted too, even though the message was good, until a dude behind me started talking about margot robbie's ass. The people who need to hear the message of this movie needed it spelled out even more than it was
So it's self-aware in its messaging?
Thank you! I've been saying that since day 1.
Oppenheimer was a really nice flick to cool down and have a laugh after witnessing the utter cinematic brilliance and the complex, yet devastating philosophy of Barbie

_what a wonderful film_
It's funny that Barbie's best moment according to Marcus and I agree (ie. her on the bench with the old lady) was the one scene Mattel tried to dissuade Greta Gerwig from keeping in the film and she said it was the thesis and the whole movie is nothing without that scene.
It’s such a triumph that she was able to keep it in. Warner Bros. doing Warner Bros. as always.
The bizarre synergy of the Barbieheimer meme is something I don't recall experiencing and it almost feels like the Internet was invented to allow that to happen. What a time to not be dead.
Something sorta similar happened in video games, when Animal Crossing and Doom Eternal released on the same day, and we had a lot of "Doom Guy hanging out with Isabelle" memes for a while.
It makes sense that after all the events of the past decade "what a time to be alive" phrase got a much needed update
Video games were a fun parallel to this when DOOM: Eternal and Animal Crossing: New Horizons came out on the same day. Definitely had the same energy as Barbenheimer and the internet went crazy for it!
Its the internets canon event

I just love that the barbenheimer meme grew into a massive event for people to go to the movies. I had a blast watching them in the same day and it's cool that so many non movie goers went out to see both. Truly a rare occurrence and both movies ended up being very enjoyable in different ways.
Honestly it’s a relief to hear you say Barbie was good but not great. I agree completely and I was so excited for it, just like everyone. It was cute but it just didn’t quite hit the way I wanted it to 🤷🏼♀️
I am glad I saw it a day late because I had my expectations tanked and it was actually good!
Happy the scene with Barbie on the bench got a specific callout. By far the best scene in the movie, encapsulated just the emotion of Robbie’s performance. Really distilled the whole heart of the movie to that one scene
It was such a beautiful moment! I was expecting to have more powerful moments like that in the film, but that was really the only one that struck me. The end sequence feels kind of forced and un-earned.
fun little fact if you didn’t know, the older lady on the bench is the real daughter (Barbara) who Barbie was named after
I like how even though Barbie literally screams the message in your face, people still don’t get it and just call it misandry. Honestly hilarious
What was the message? Can you put in words, all I got was that it's possible to be a woman...
They get it, they just disagree with it
@@phyynproductionsMen and women need to find a balance and work together in order for society to work. At the beginning, Barbie was happy because she was “perfect” and always happy, ready to start the day. But Ken was unhappy, because Barbie didn’t want to spend anytime with him and was always being shot down. I loved how childlike and innocent their characters were while still staying true to what they were branded as (keep in mind, they’re being played by kids). I like to think that maybe Ken was played with by a younger boy, or maybe a little brother (since I doubt other girls would make Ken more of a tragic character, I honestly doubt they’d even care about Ken), while it’s revealed later on who Barbie is being played with by, hence why she starts having an existential crisis. Barbie ignored Ken, while Ken would spend his time just trying to appeal to Barbie. Barbie eventually learns that there’s more to life than just being perfect. It’s okay to be sad and imperfect. That’s what makes life worth living. And Ken learns that he needs to find who he really is. He is more than just Barbie’s accessory. He admitted he hated breaking things and was disinterested in the patriarchy when he learned it wasn’t just about horses. He just wanted to be respected, and Barbie apologizes for not doing so. Even saying she “took him for granted.”
@@katlyndobransky2419 if only they didnt add the line after all that about kens having as much real power there as women do in the real world...but i get that, its a bit overshadowed by the "its literally impossible to be a woman" stuff, I wish that Barbie's time in the "real world" wasn't getting sexually harrassed by every man she sees outside of Mattel's staff and the 2 humans who talk like political agendas actually got some development, i do like the ending tho with ruth and not many men will get that message since the kens act so stupid and stereotypically toxic its hard to even identify it as a representation, the ken is me stuff is funny but also really dumb as most men understand the basic concept of being a person
@@phyynproductions I hate to break it to you but Barbie's experience in the real world is genuinely just what being an attractive woman is like.
Oppenheimer might just be Nolan’s best script. It’s like he pulled a 180 after Tenet
I see what you did there
It's like he took all the criticism from his last film and made the next film a retort. They said Tenet lacked character and emotion..., Oppenheimer is nothing but that.
@@GrandeTheftDesperado I think the fact that Tenet is 'one journey', so to speak, is why Nolan's style doesn't work as well. When it's just one narrative going 300mph the whole time, it's almost unbelievable how much goes on in the length of one feature film, to the point that it's a little illusion breaking. Oppenheimer has the same insane pace in an even longer movie, but the 50 little stories it tells at different points in time justify the length and pace. Almost like a highlights reel.
I Loved Tenet 🤷
Tenet definitely has dull characters but the plot is actually a masterpiece
I’m glad I did the double feature because it did truly elevate the experience for me personally. I was so giddy seeing 60% of the people at the theater dressed in pink that I couldn’t help but love it.
I agree, my 54 year old mother came to see it with me today dressed in a pink shirt. She grew up with Barbie, and it was just so cute to me because I never even told her “mom you have to wear pink.” I work at a movie theater and a ton of older ladies came in to see Barbie, all of them wearing different shades of pink. One lady was wearing a more coral color and told me she felt bad for not having an actual pink shirt and I told her it was close enough! Just absolutely adorable, and I’m gonna be so sad when it ends
When THAT scene in Oppenheimer appeared and Oppie said "Now I am become sex, destroyer of virginity". I got goosebumps
This is the most accurate description of that scene I’ve read
Oppenheimer was so immersive it blew up my theater showing for barbie

I have appreciation for everyone who saw both movies on the same day. Also, Dark Mamma is trending, since both The Dark Knight and Mamma Mia were released on July 18th, 2008.

I prefer the comparison to Doom: Eternal & Animal Crossing.

@@jacksondavies3595lack of style is a mind-blowing criticism to make of Nolan. If anything, that's what's most appealing to most people, they're very stylish movies that often have more on vibes and visuals than substance.
I agree with everything else though
I understand the perspective about Barbie, but I also think the fact that it was so heavy handed was the point. They even say in the movie that women are never allowed to express their distaste for how they're treated. I know for me, I cried hearing it all laid out so plainly.
I assume that people who the message isn't directly directed at got a little sick of it, but as a dude that shares a planet with Andrew Tate fans, I don't think I'd mind a more direct message. Those are some scary mofos.
What is the movie trying to say by making the Kens so damn stupid?
Also, the film is meant to be watched by kids (and adults) but also kids - and overtly stated repetition is sometimes the way kids learn best.
@@alittlebitofjessica From my understanding the Barbie world isn't simply meant to be a direct mirror of the real world where the roles are reversed, in which case would lead to some very confusing messaging (wait so women are just supposed to accept being second class citizens in the real world?). It's a fantasy representation of how little girls see the world, thus why the Kens are just kind of there, and also why they come across as childish. It's common knowledge that girls mature a few years ahead of boys. But the point is that the Kens aren't supposed to be "stupid", they're how little girls see their peers-- sweet boys with schoolboy crushes. This is especially relevant because alongside Barbie's, Ken's real-world arc shows what happens when impressionable young boys are exposed to violent misogynistic ideas and the allure of power as they age.
@@jimmylu1352 Why would the Kens be given any decision-making power when they're as stupid as they are? Though they did successfully execute a coup d'etat by brainwashing the Barbies (???) so they have that going for them I guess 🤷🏻♀

Is this funny? Do you actually laugh when you type this?
I loved it when Barbie became death, the destroyer of worlds
I’ll admit, while Barbie’s main theme did get repeated again and again, I LOVED (spoiler character’s) monologue delivery. It was truthful and raw and angry and sad and I felt every second of it. Had it been delivered in any other way by anyone else, I might have been “okay, we get it,” but that moment was awesome for me and the ending broke me. I was a sobbing mess and I loved it.
Mr. Sunday Movies pointed out that Barbie basically has the attitude of Anchorman, and I that clicked with me perfectly. It's weird, funny, and you just go with it.
My main issue with Barbie was the “real world”. I didn’t understand what the Mattel board wanted (or what the box was in-universe?) and everytime the closeted bully from Sex Ed kept showing up, I was like “why are you still here?”. America Ferrara needed more screen time as she gives a huge monologue at the end, so why not combine her role with Sex Ed closeted bully (hell maybe even with Will Ferrell) and have HER hunt down Barbie? so we can see more of her life and get to know her weird side even more. The scenes, acting and design were all still great and the film was super enjoyable regardless of the weak plot.
You make such a good point, she's such an important character but only shows up halfway through the movie for no good reason
Adam, his name is Adam.
I did think the point of a box was weird since there is a specific way to get back to Barbieland. But the way I saw it was that she needed put back in a box otherwise both worlds would combine, perhaps even open a black hole. Kinda like how in Spiderverse, when a character travels to another universe, they’ll die if they stay too long. That’s the way I saw it. I know people were upset it wasn’t stated, but maybe that was the point, to let us use our imagination. And with the box, I saw it as another way to send Barbie back to Barbieland, like a portal of sorts. Clearly the joke was that the Mattel board knew things that people of the real world didn’t know (like Ruth’s ghost also living there). It’s goofy and it might not make any sense, but I think that’s what makes it fun. It’s not realistic, and I think that’s okay
I was also a little confused by the box but after thinking about it I interpreted it as Mattel trying to erase barbie and make her new again, basically resetting her and leaving her as a new blank slate where her previous experiences would be forgotten.
I think making her an antagonist would’ve made the film much better since it wouldn’t just be a basic “men vs women” shit, and show that women too can be evil and good just as men can. I also wished they were more diverse on the Board of Corporate men because there was mostly a ton of white people but then the Barbie land and everywhere else has diverse people and such.

You’re the first reviewer I’ve watched that really hit the nail on the head with all of my issues with Barbie

True, I enjoyed it but I didn't love it. I went in so excited , humming all the soundtrack, but it left me somewhat disappointed with it.
Feel like people might become disillusioned w Barbie the more Mattel does it’s toy cinematic universe… Barbie was fun and charming but definitely a Mattel marketing stunt, they might kill their own hype w their greed
when she said, “now i am become Barb, the destroyer of norms.” i was blown away
I'm glad I saw Oppenheimer second. The humor in it was a nice change up from the complex existentialism of Barbie. I kid but I was surprised but the complexity of Barbie, I didn't expect to cover so many themes. I honestly didn't mind that, if yes it was presented a little on-the-nose sometimes. Oh and yeah Oppenheimer was great too I expect as much from Nolan, even if yeah he didn't quite get away from usual gripes with Nolan movies..................Also agree 100% I guarantee people are going to pretend in a couple months that everything was overblown with these movies..........just to be contrarian lol
In all honesty, I think I would watch Barbie again before I watch Oppenheimer. Although I think they’re both equally good for what they’re going for, Barbie was shorter, and just a load of fun. Oppenheimer made me fuckin depressed and scared
Funny. Barbie made me more depressed and scared than a nuclear explosion ever could. At least it would if I took its "modern audience" pandering bullshite seriously...
I actually did the opposite in one day and it was a better option for me 😂😂
exactly how i felt!
Barbie made me more depressed than Oppenheimer. That first half of Oppenheimer was so boring, would definitely watch Barbie again tho
Funny cause my sister said she would rather watch Oppenheimer 4 more times before seeing Barbie again
The scene where barbie talks to the old woman is so moving to me. As we can see in barbieland there's no one who ages, who has lived and seen the experience that this elder has seen. Barbie had earlier expressed fear of ageing and not having smooth skin, but when she really immerses herself in the real world, and turns to this woman next to her, she without any hesitation or irony calls the woman beautiful. And the woman simply smiles and says she knows it. It was so sincere that I was afraid they'd undercut it with a stupid joke but no, the scene is allowed to longer and have you feel the emotion.
It's a very poignant seen and I wish that for crying out loud the rest of the film could have stuff like this.
I understand why you would also want the message of Barbie to be subtler (i did too) but with how popular it became and how many people STILL managed to misunderstand what the movie was about i think making it so in-your-face was a needed evil. Also i bet many other people who don't think too deeply about movies came out of the theater rethinking their view on the world because of this movie and i think it's worth ignoring the lack of subtlety.
We need more movies that just hammer home what they’re about. Subtlety doesn’t work anymore. I’m tired of the millions of men who think Walter White and Tyler Durden are aspirational, or the crazies who think They Live is about the Jews

Agree with your take on Barbie 100%. I was really excited to see it but at a certain point the message, though I as a woman I obviously get it and agree with it, it just felt really heavy handed and almost...corny at points? By the second half I was starting to wait for it to be over. Seeing the consensus from everyone online who thinks its the best movie of the decade I thought I was the exception so glad to hear your thoughts!
Well the cornyness is probably part of the cheesy humor, it also has like 2 pretty deep moments, the end scene(kinda) and the bus scene. Still agree, but I find it hilarious that even when the point is told to you directly so many times, people still are not getting the message.

I can tell you're under the age of 20 and has only watched Marvel films. You know nothing about good filmmaking if you thought Barbie was good but thought Oppenheimer was "boring". STFU kid.
These movies couldn’t have come out at a more perfect time
I really liked how Barbie didn't obscure its message behind subtlety
It was absolutely not trying to be subtle on purpose, because they knew idiots still wouldn't get it and didn't want to give them excuses lmao
@@ReydrielI think that’s exactly it. Like the message was pretty basic and it was very very blatant but people are STILL missing the point and saying it’s too radical
Oppenheimer is one of the most important films ever made & one of the best films ever made too
Barbie’s also a great film,definitely worth a check out
I completely understand your issue with the Barbie movie being very overt with its messaging because I felt the exact same way the first time I saw it but I ended up seeing it a second time and it worked a lot better for me.
I think part of that was because I knew what I was getting into this time around with it’s satire on patriarchy and I picked up on ideas and themes that the Barbie movie has that I didn’t the first time.
Yes, this is a film centered around feminism, which is amazing and I appreciate, but what hit me hardest this time around was what the film had to say about the beauty of life and the creation of art.
The line that was used in all the promo material: “Ideas live forever.” Has a completely different meaning in the context of the movie. Yeah, ideas live forever, but it’s people who create meaning. Be it through movies, comics, toys, etc. It’s their life, experiences, and creativity that make something of the ideas and art that are made in the world.
Barbie herself wouldn’t have meaning if not for the personal inspiration that drove Ruth to create her or the way she impacts the people who play with her (at least until she makes the decision to become human at the end of the film). It’s this desire to be seen and understood (and inspire) and help others to feel less alone that drives creation and it’s how people relate to that creation that creates meaning.
As someone who wants to work in film and television I know that’s why I want to go into it in the first place. I felt seen and understood in aspects of film and television in a way I wasn’t in my day to day life and I want to be able to take my experiences and help put stories to screen that can connect and help people who went through the same struggles. It’s the parts of themselves that people put into art that makes the initial creation meaningful and after it’s made it’s how people relate to and are effected by it that creates meaning.
I probably got a bit too deep about aspects of the Barbie movie but that’s what I took out of Barbie’s arc in particular the second time around that really resonated with me.
I’m not saying this is how everyone will read Barbie’s arc and those scenes she has in the park and with Ruth but that’s what I took away from it and it’s what made the movie land much better for me.
9:09, funnily enough I feel like this sentiment "telling the audience exactly what you're trying to convey" is going to come up again with the Dark Knight trilogy when you review it.
Fr, I liked dark knight as a kid but not so much anymore, feels like every other scene someone is talking about how "Batman is a symbol! The joker is a symbol! Harvey Dent? Symbol!" It feels like what happens when someone who takes themselves too seriously to make a superhero movie makes a superhero movie
Barbenheimer was amazing, my favorite part was the end where Heisenberg makes a cameo appearance and says "I AM THE DANGER" as he turns into the atomic bomb.
Truly one of the greatest moments in cinema
i love that everyone’s doing the barbenheimer joke💀💀
I was super duper hyped for Barbie, and yeah, I liked it a lot, but also some things bugged me about it, it didn't quite hit the mark as much as I hoped
Now, you say they beat you over the head with the messaging of Barbie, and yet I've seen COUNTLESS men completely miss it. So, in my opinion, if it had been super subtle, they literally wouldn't have realized there was a message at all.
I don’t think most of the men you are referring to are actually missing the point. In most cases those men are likely pretending to miss that point because they went into the movie with their minds already made up
I don't think those Men came to watch the film with an unbiased and critical viewpoint in mind. Being super subtle would've helped bring in the film critics to help defend it for having "complex and deep themes" against those guys.
Not all men hate the Barbie movie, as well as not all women like it.
Why should a feminist film hamfist its message to the audience to educate bigoted men on the internet? They’re not going to “get it” either way.
Y E S . Like was Marcus actually expecting the people who need to hear the message the most to read between the lines????? like HUH 😭✋ They're the ones who need to be spoon fed and it still doesn't work
i think both films are masterpieces in my opinion
The Barbie movie lingers in my mind...I can't help but smile when I think of certain scenes that really tickled me and there are so many of them. I also fully recognize that my own experience playing with Barbie heavily impacts how I experienced the movie. Like, that scene where Sasha was throwing away her dolls had me tearing up...who doesn't remember that phase in their own life? And Ken's character arc?? Chef's kiss. I already know I'll be watching it again.
Dude started playing Manon's theme as the Barbie portion started....I respect that.
I'm just happy to see people being excited to go to the cinema again honestly, and treating it like a proper event.
As a Barbenheimer veteran, I was just glad both movies turned out so well. Oppenheimer was incredible, and I can see myself liking it more on repeat viewings (typical for Nolan movies). As for Barbie, I think my opinion will change significantly over time. The sets, direction, and performances were great, but there was just so much in it; so many ideas, subplots, characters, etc. I see myself both loving and disliking different parts of it more and more on further reflection.
I was waiting for this video, goddamn you hit the nail on the head with both movies, extremely exceptional takes
The great Nolanian paradox: movies made for the cinema, that you will never fully understand without subttitles from your tv
Barbie surprised me on how great it was. And that it beat Oppenheimer in the box office.
Well Oppenheimer is rated R and Barbie is something everyone in the Western world knows about already
@@Alfie02Yeah it's pretty obvious Barbie would win in margins.
@@Alfie02exactly, it's a 3 hour r-rated movie that still made $300million at the box office
Its pretty obvious that Barbie will win a lot of money. PG13, big IP, 2 hours long Vs an R Rated 3 hour biopic movie. Of course Barbie will win the box office. Most people know Barbie instead of Oppenheimer
It was pretty obvious that Barbie was going to win, but Oppenheimer performed way above expectations and their opening weekend has become the 4th biggest weekend in film history, which is very impressive considering that these genres are not in high demand at the moment. People are clearly looking for novelty and strong creative vision, something to set them apart from the sludge of superhero films and action flicks that typically dominate the box office, and both movies clearly delivered on all fronts
I really needed Barbie after the way Oppenheimer ended
Pretty eerie, checked your channel for new uploads about five seconds before this popped up.
*kisses you*
Love your videos and reviews my dude!
I love both films and Barbie was way better than I was expecting!
I hope we reach a point in society where it's ok to say "I liked the Barbie movie but there were some elements that I don't think were executed well" and have it not be a big deal.
my exact thoughts for both, kinda nailed every part of this review, great video!
Is no one gonna talk about how the Worst superhero movie is a review of what looks like "Morbius". Really excited for that
I hate how I was able to immediately recognize those pixelated frames.
I noticed and loved how both Barbie and Oppenheimer were made with care, passion and heart exactly like Across the Spider-Verse.
I thought Barbie for example was gonna be just a simple fun cash grab movie based on a popular franchise. Boy, how wrong i was. Instead, i got a deep emotional fun movie with a powerful message based on a popular franchise. And you get that with Greta Gerwig 👍
And of course, Oppenheimer was just epic. Easily one of the best Christopher Nolan movies. It’s beautiful and haunting at the same time. It was a big spectacle.
In the end, both movies are good and everyone should watch it 👍
Just watched it, the jumpscares had my eyes shaking
Been waiting for this video
Oppenheimer was Movie off the year. It didn’t feel like a 3 hour movie but OMG when it was over I needed a mental break. The way the music raised the tension had me exhausted when I got home.
“I am become Death, the destroyer of Worlds”
I honestly really liked Oppenheimer, it felt refreshing from what's out there currently
1:35 this indeed made my day and filled me with such happiness
Another month, another 8 minutes of content from a channel w a million subs 😊
Unexpected manon theme cameo when he went over Barbie lol
the multiverse scene in oppenheimer was insane guys
you word for word got down every thought I had during both Barbie and Oppie
Appreciate that Nolan's editing style is getting talked about more! Sometimes it fits and sometimes it doesn't!
Cosmonaut never uploads omg
The dark knight trilogy review yesssssss
I really enjoy the use of fighting game music in your videos. It makes me feel more at home listening to these reviews.
I did barbenheimer with my mom as a little mom son day, and it was the most fun I’ve had at the movies in a while
One of my favorite historical quotes, uttered while tiddies are onscreen. 10/10 would watch Oppy again
I LOVE that you have the mona lisa in your bathroom lol
Love how he brought back the black and white structure he used in memento
Is that batman marathon gonna include mask of the phantasm
all theatrical releases so yes
@@cosmonautvarietyhour bless
So many people skip it cuz it’s animated yet it’s my personal favorite
Ben Shapiro is the type of guy that tells his daughter this movie is bad and if she watches it she will forever be a disappointment to him.
Ben Shapiro is proof that men can be Karens too.
Goddamn Cosmonaut!! You’ve convinced me now I got to watch both of them lol 😂
Thanks for the video, Steve.
Ben Shapiro said he was dragged into seeing Barbie and shows up in Ken Cosplay. Dude is so weird
Remember that time he bought a piece of wood from Home Depot or him being confused by the idea of his wife getting wet.😂
*Me after **_Oppenheimer:_* I'm emotionally exhausted after seeing _Oppenheimer._ I feel this existential dread of living in a world where nuclear weapons is both the thing keeping our peace, and the thing that could kill us and all it takes, is one leader who doesn't care about the consequences.
*My mom:* follow up with _Barbie;_ feel good movie.
*Me after **_Barbie:_* I'm emotionally exhausted after seeing _Barbie._ I feel this existential dread of living in a world where it's exhausting being a woman because no matter what nothing we ever do will ever be good enough and we'll always just be an accessory to men.
That's honestly kinda funny considering the Kens were actually the accessories to the Barbies the whole time in the film. Apart from the 10 minutes of peaceful enjoyment every individual in Barbieworld had when they experienced something closer to the real world that GoslingKen brought to them after being woken up seeing a modicum of respect directed his way for the first time in his existence, before it was then torn down and replaced with the exact matriarchal dictatorship they had before with no lessons learned. And all through slow subtle brainwashing too. I can see why that all would be emotionally exhausting, most shitty writing is, just not in the way you described 😂👌🏻
@@Ki_Adi_Mundi And THAT'S the entire point sweetie. If you saw that Ken was the accessory to Barbie, then you understand what WE feel like literally every SINGLE day of our lives. Every SINGLE time an assult is blamed on US "why didn't you fight back, what did you wear, I think you were asking for it. Why didn't you report it sooner", every SINGLE time we stand up for ourselves we're belittled "ugh such a BCH, they're so rude, maybe go back to the kitchen." every SINGLE time our rights are further stripped away. We are nothing more than an accessory. And that's why Barbie can feel like such a fun yet such an exhausting movie to watch, because it wakes young girls up, and women up to the world we live in. And it's a sad one at that.
