    This is the red house 🏠 for anyone following along.

    11 -- I put this exact same style sink in my powder room. No regrets and as for a rental, I bet the bottom will get smashed. Renters do not care. Still a better decision than a cabinet sink. Those collect everything but men and money. Roach nurseries too.

      Haha. I think the sink cabinets would be fine if they used real plywood instead of particle board. Haven't found one I like.

    I'm so close but my pipes don't line up so I think I have to move the pipes behind the wall... or quickly get a boyfriend...

      Probably already fixed issue, But u may be able to move sink over or use a 45 for thin wall pipe.

    Another great video. I have to say I avoid installing pedestal sinks at all costs.

      Thanks. This is my first. I normally do the cabinets but I've been discouraged by how quickly they are trashed.

      I’ll take a pedestal any day over a vanity, can’t stand them.

    Liked the plumbing tool. I've been using the old basin wrench and the springs always give out after a while and don't seem to grip until you are tight against the wall. PITA.

      I think they are 20 bucks at home depot. Get one you will love it.

    fyi pipe dope is not a sealant.

    • @handylandlord
      @handylandlord  2 місяці тому

      I like using pipe dope on all my tubular pvc pipe connection’s. Just a personal preference. Not needed.

    Hate the pedestals except when bathroom is tiny. I rotate the base sideways while i'm hooking up most of the connections then rotate back and make final p trap connection

    • @handylandlord
      @handylandlord  9 місяців тому

      Yeah I’m not a big fan of them. Good tip on rotating the base. Thanks

    pipe dope on all those connections but not the water connectors / hoses ? I do them all unlike the consensus of others doing like installations, thxs for sharing

    • @handylandlord
      @handylandlord  9 місяців тому

      I pipe dope water connections if I reuse the old hoses. If I install new hoses I do not dope. Idk just what I do. Haha 😂 we all have our ways. Thanks for watching.

    Nice you mention eye warning. I personally refuse to wear glasses unless I’m grinding. And I will one day pay for it.

    • @handylandlord
      @handylandlord  9 місяців тому

      I’m the same way. I normally only wear when weed eating, grinding and busting concrete. Trying to turn over a new leaf.

    pedestal sinks are terrible if you need to snake the drain. I install the HD cabinet sinks now, and you get under sink storage.

    • @handylandlord
      @handylandlord  9 місяців тому +2

      I agree from a service side it's not great. Wish Hd made a plywood option for the sink cabinet instead of particle board.

      Which gets loaded up with crap that never gets used and you have to remove it all before worming your way back there. Then you get a small leak that isn’t noticed and starts rotting the wood. I like the pedestals obviously :)
