Patton is one of the best rock/metal singers we had, all the different voices he got, the freedom when he sings... Master Patton ! And this album is just perfect even if heterogeneous in style
I was at the FNM show here in Chile in October 2010 and he had serious problems with the soundman and also with his voice. They had played a smaller venue the night before (a really intense one) and that day he was trying hard to reach the high notes. What never fails is his attitude onstage...powerful and charismatic as usual.
I got a question: has Mike Patton ever had a ''bad night'' as a vocalist? I've seen a lot of videos of his shows and it seems like the guy is just nailing everything everytime. No throat problems, illness etc. and he's in his 40s! Seems like his voice is getting even better when he's getting older.
Bordin is my alltime favourite drummer..he is such a crucial part of the FNM drive...but to be honest..he is not cutting it anymore..Ive seen them live this summer and all this stuff on the tube..and he is not as intence anymore as he used to play. Dont think he broke a stick or a cymbal on the show we saw...while when I saw them 15years ago..sticks snapped like twigs, cymbals folded, roadies running around with new snare drums..he was stuffing the music down our throats so hard it felt good!
@prosenquist Could it be the chronic weed use subduing him? (Just a reference to Mike singing "take it from our drummer, "Puff," being good it gets you stuff...don't know if he actually smokes.) Seems to happen to a lot of musicians as they get older, less anger, energy and maybe he lost his stick/cymbal sponsorship?
cantankerous cranky energy lots of greatplaying/vocalizing interesting lyrics...may require deeper exploration...eh cuz but i'm old & there is so fucking great music ...??
Mike Patton is always full send on stage ...love it

In their defense, Patton is the youngest. But yeah, they all aged very visibly. Especially Roddy.
@hootyhaha man that's a very good call !!!

Unwatchable with this many cuts. Great performance, utterly awful editing.
Pattons singing was awful
Guy managed to ruin his own song by getting a little too coked up
No he just sang it differently. The guy's a fucking weirdo
No drugs here.....dickhead.
