Sherlock: I'll tell you next weeks lottery numbers. John: Ha ha ha ha ha Sherlock: Worth a try. If that does not show a knowledge great enough for an Old Married Couple don't know what does. Brilliant.
7:11 "tell me where they are please! tell me. please!" he begged ... twice! does it ring a bell ? Irene telling him she's have him beg for mercy TWICE!! well look at this!!!
Fancy_Bred when I first saw the show I laughed and pointed out the moustache he drew. I was a TPB fan before Sherlocked and still oblivious to the existence of TJLC. (I ship everyone with everyone so I thought I was alone with the johnlock ship).
This may sound odd, but I'm pretty sure this show and the crazy in depth analysis helped my own analysis skills and is helping me pass my literature exams???? Thanks so much man lmao
I have learned SO MUCH just from being in this fandom and reading as much meta as I can squeeze into my day. For me it's too late to help with school, glad it is not too late for you and many others!
Phoebe Cupcakes literally same.. I take English language and literature A Level and this series is actually helping me analyse texts in more depth and detail.
Also, I recommend HIGHLY "The Hero With 1000 Faces" by Joseph Campbell, he writes about a story template as old as humanity which underlies SO MANY of our most beloved stories, movies, tv shows, etc., not just ancient myths. ASIP is a TEXTBOOK hero-journey, it's GORGEOUS. (and I think the overall arc of the series is too)
This is one of my favourite TJLCE videos! Once you actually realise how many classic romantic tropes are used between John and Sherlock, it's ridiculous how cheesy the show becomes. Brilliantly done, as always! :)
It finally happened. I actually believe in TJLC now. Omg. What am I going to do with my life till January. This was such a great episode. Thinking about Sherlock in a narrative structure point of view makes so much sense. The tipping point for me, after everything, was realizing what the tarmac scene TEXTUALLY said. Naysayers can scream all they want that all we have is subtext. But Sherlock had already told John he loved him at the wedding, he used the word love. What could he POSSIBLY have to say at the tarmac if not clarifying love as romantic? There is literally nothing. There's zero things. That's text. Omg. TJLC i real. My life. My brain omg.
I can't watch the cemetery scene without bawling my eyes out 😭 the grief is just too palpable. I don't think anyone could disagree that that's not how you grieve after a friend, is how you grieve after a life partner
Sion Jesse your mother in law is my role model. I actually tried to grow buttercups in my garden after I first saw the movie when I was 11. I stead just grew roses because they were less tedious and would give them to my teachers quoting the movie. My theater teacher loved me. XD
John screams "Sherlock" when he wants him to live and Moriarty when he wants him to not live. Sherlock screamed "John" when saving him (wanting him to live) and i can't wait for Mary to scream it when she doesn't want him to 'live', whatever way that expression is taken.
So I'm currently watching Sherlock with my family. They've never seen it, I've just recently decided to share it with them so they know what I'm talking about all the time lol. But we just finished HLV and when the "John Watson is definitely in danger..." part came and Sherlock heroically began to struggle up the stairs to John my whole family went "AWWW" and I was just shaking with laughter muttering "he's so gay" into a pillow. Then I turned to my sister and announced "I freaking hate this show" and she just looked really confused
i rewatched this, and thought something: the way in princess bride the grandfather tries to 'save' the grandson from the last kiss, and the grandson demands to hear about it paralles eerily about the s4 and the "ending" of the series: wild adventures and no 'icky' romance. i have no idea why the long wait (there was a theory about the latest of sherlock homes stories to becoming public domain being the reason). but i really think that making a fake ending (like doyle killed sherlock off and then brought him back when the audience wasn't satisfied) is to contrast that without sherlock and john's romance the story isn't complete.
actually, in the pre-court mirror Held Gaze scene from TRF Sherlock and John aren't looking at each other - Sherlock is the one to look at John when John is looking at himself, but when John's eyes move towards him, Sherlock's gaze moves to himself as if he wasn't looking. these are very minimal eye movements that require much much focus but it's there. idk i think it makes it much sadder :(
YOU KNOW WHAT I CAN'T BELIEVE? This glorious video reminded me of it ("reminded" - as if I'm not thinking about it 24/7) at 6:58 - I CANNOT BELIEVE that when Janine says, "Whatever it is you are," JOHN APPEARS AT THE DOOR. RIGHT THEN. WHAT. WHY. WHY
Dear Rebekah and TJLCers, I want to thank you all for introducing me to the beautiful love story that is BBC Sherlock. I won't be addressing the fourth season, because this should be a place for kindness. But you have tought me so much about good writing and the importance of LGBT representation, through your passion and caring for the show and its characters. I will never stop believing and am very grateful for being part of the TJLC community, even if it was only for the past two months.
my favorite part is how smug you sound reading the more obviously johnlock romantic tropes. i think this is my fav tjlce ep so far because it makes it all SO OBVIOUS. ❤
Once again you have renewed my faith in the next generation. With so many brilliant members of the fandom, and scholarly (like yourself) I am looking forward to one day purchasing a lovely hardcover volume or set of volumes that celebrates the metas and meta writers who revealed TJLC so early while being written off as crazy fangirls/boys or getting stalked out of the Internet. While I don't create any content for the "fandom" my life has been so enriched by the show and people like you who help me see the layers within it. Bless you, Rebekah!
I found your channel and THAT made me watch Sherlock, because I never had time for tv shows, but this time I made an exception (because I'm sick and I have few days on my hands) and I watched it in 2 days. I love how much work you put into your videos, and now I just can't wait for season 4 to see all this coming true. I hope. That would not only be one of the best plots in tv series history but also an amazing breakthrough for LGBT+ community. Thanks for all this great work! 😊
Omg!! I have always thought that both pills during the Study in Pink episode were poisoned, but the driver had built up an immunity to the poison (remember the audience was never explicitly told whether or not Sherlock chose the correct pill) just because the set up of the scene reminded me so much of the Ioncane Powder scene
Love the videos! My parents are very persistent that Sherlock isn't a gay love story, and I used to believe them. I'd blow off every suspicion I had, because as a gay woman, I thought it wasn't right to be telling a gay love story as public as Sherlock. When I was younger, if I ever (I mean ever) brought up my sexuality, my mom said I was "getting on a soap box." She said the same thing about the possibility of Sherlock being gay. Now, I couldn't believe more in your message. I'm confident my parents are wrong about Sherlock, and that someday soon, they'll be watching the wonderful episode when John and Sherlock finally get together and they'll be baffled at how a story they were convinced was perfectly straight turned out to be gay. Thank you so much for helping me believe!
I was highkey yelling when you started listing out fencing, fighting, torture. My brain went into overdrive. I didn't know you were doing TPB parallels. A lovely surprise and a favorite video. Thanks for everything you do!
Being new to TJLC, and having never heard the entirety of Sherlock compared to The Princess Bride (I made the connection of the cabby scene to the iocane powder scene the first time I ever watched through Sherlock) I was very excited when you started eluding to The Princess Bride (it's my favourite movie). By far one of my favourites of your episodes, the trope comparisons were fantastic too. Keep up the good work, can't wait for your next episodes!
Brilliant. I had no idea about the parallels to The Princess Bride (which I saw on the big screen when it first came out) and now I can never look at BBC Sherlock again without thinking about it.
To be honest, the comparison between The Princess Bride and Sherlock was the deciding reason that convinced me at 100% that Johnlock is canon and won't be disowned to the very end of the show. It would be an awkward coincidence for Moffat, stating so vehemently that he loves this movie/book and putting whole plot lines of it into Sherlock, not intending to put the meaning of these tropes in, too, I mean: By creating, you would normally realise those things, wouldn't you. xD (Well, as for me, I do.) Btw, it's kind of cute how the little boy represents the homophobic/blind audience. Just perfect reference.
Honestly, I agree with you a hundred percent. However, I'm afraid that due to pressure from other stakeholders, they may never do it. Is there any way we can believe otherwise? Because, at the end of the day, this is a huge risk for many people! Will the benefits outweigh the risk? I'm afraid that they might leave it deliberately ambiguous. However, at this point, no matter how they end the show, it will anger a huge chunk of people. The only way they can avoid that is if they leave it ambiguous so people can believe what they choose to. I really really want to believe it, but I'm too scared to. Help!
Hey Rebekah! I apologise if it seemed like I didn't believe you or anything. Its just some sort of anxiety. I really appreciate you taking the time to explain so much. In the last 14 hours, despite 2 quizzes and an assignment due in the next 2 days :P, I have seen a few more of your videos and I understand your point of view.
I totally see Johnlock but I fear Mrs M has a point. BBC may want to see LGBC people happy but by now the show is sold to and hugely popular in so many countries which are far from gay friendly. And you know money could maybe change the formerly wanted way the show takes. I fear Mofftiss perhaps are not allowed anymore to ship Johnlock openly and without a doubt... so I really really hope Mofftiss and BBC will stay strong and let the show and our boys go to what it's all meant to be!
maithri swamy honestly, The writers NEED to reveal the the story of johnlock because if they don't, they will be just one more brilliant show that threw away what could have made it glorious and possibly go down in history. Inaccurate representative is still alive in media today, so they should make a stand and let the story be told the way it's meant. Both actors I beilive have played a gay character at least one in their Carrers before so they should not have a problem with even a small kiss for a scene. Even if johnlock simply said 'I love you John/Sherlock.' It should be enough for it to be satisfying. Netflix just uploaded the fourth season and I am scared to watch it.
Only finding your videos now. They are making recovery from surgery bearable. And now I’ve fangirl squealed because you have proved my favorite maxim: EVERYTHING can be explained by The Princess Bride!
Holy guacamole!!!!!!! The romantic tropes thing is so on point!!!!! They are professional writers this is their job and it's not like they don't know what they are doing, this is beautiful. I am going to watch the princess bride now.
There's also another parallel: after "dying", Westley came back to Buttercup in a disguise, just as Sherlock did when coming back to John wearing that tuxedo and a painted-on mustache. :) and the mustache looks so similar, too! haha
20:34 I can see this scene over and over and over again.. my gosh is SO ROMANTIC!! The music... the hero scene... He's actually and literally came back from death for John, people. For John.
18:53 I apologize for the implication in advance, but... (this is not me making the implication, just pointing out it is not exclusively a romantic thing. The apology is because I know some people's brains will go there anyway) " _I was there for you before, I'll be there for you again. I will always be there for you._ " Mycroft Holmes to Sherlock Holmes in The Abominable Bride
Probably one of my favorite TJLCE videos so far. As someone who's never seen the Princess Bride before, this added a whole new level of pain and belief! It's so obvious! Keep up the good work!
I would like to add that I think the tarmac scene could be compared to when the Grandpa stops the story at first before the boy tells him to continue. Sherlock leads the audience to believe there will be a confession, hints at a kiss (Mycroft certainly thinks there will be), but there is none because they haven't resolved everything yet. Unlike in Princess Bride John and Sherlock still have demons to slay before they can get to the kiss they've been waiting so long for. It could also signify how the audience is ready for a kiss now, a lot of people have come to realize that John and Sherlock's relationship is so meaningful that there needs to be a confession of some sort to finish their characters arches. I'm so excited for season 4.
I love this video so much. I mean i was convinced, but now i am convinced that i am convinced. OMG, 44:18 and i am crying a little bit. I never cry. Rebekah!
Oh god, all these tropes. So many. I think someone once calculated the average time of the show in relation to romantic tropes and the result was one romantic trope every nine minutes. Of course that was before TAB, so we're probably down to like seven minutes now. I have been waiting for that particular comparsion since you started this series and I was not disappointed. I still remember seeing that tumblr post about "Character A and B" and then "Now, did I just describe the plot of Sherlock or...?" And I sat there and screamed. Bless you for all the amazing work you do, Rebekah. Also, that new intro is great and you are so adorable!
I'm here after The Deadly Trailer™ and I'm just crying a river (to enhance the importance of Water). I think this is the video I'm going to show my friends after series 4, when everyone will be confused. Thanks again for your hard work, Rebs! ❤
I have no idea how much time it takes to make these videos - come up with the script, research, record and then edit, double check above etc. I think I wouldn't like to know because I'd be getting too worried about you putting this much effort and sacrificing so much rather than simply enjoying the purest TJLC truths, lol. I'm speechless. Thank you, Rebekah! Moftiss will definitely call you out one day for being The Supreme Believer. Sure of that
What you said at the end is the centre of it all. I mean I can't think of better words to explain that concept, it's just... true. And seeing them kissing on screen will mean so much for so many.
Please marry me. Thank you for pointing all this out, finally I've something to show my dad that John and Sherlock loving each other is real. But in all seriousness you are very very beautiful, you seem like such a joyful person, definitely gonna subscribe !
Hi there, I know you've finished making this video series. But just wanted to let you know that whatever the future holds for BBC Sherlock, this series you made is a total masterpiece. This video in particular is a great example of one of the many really solid and evidenced queer readings of the show. There is still no other reading of the show that makes sense. These videos will have a really positive legacy in years to come.
You're the best! You give me faith in Johnlock when all hope seems to have failed. Also you're very pretty :) I know it has nothing to do with the video, but I had to say it!
This is great. Incidentally, I think I may have already read up on all the things you mentioned in this episode, but it was still great fun to watch. I'm basically addicted to this series and the joy of TJLC. There's one thing I wonder, though. I've heard in the past about Victorian fans of the original series (which I'm reading, by the way), but I'd love to know more about it. What I know is that when Holmes died, they were black bands and inundated Doyle with fanmail until he brought Holmes back. I also know they wrote stage plays and put them on, and even put a few seconds of him on film when the technology was first invented. What I wondered was if there were any sources available that you know of that addresses the reaction of fans during the original canon. I'm not sure that it could be linked to TJLC in particular, but I've been looking, and have only found a few scattered bits. I'm probably not great at research, anyway.
It's funny how some things are noticed very late in an episode. If you stop the scene where John talks to Billy from the "hounds of Baskerville" at the counter (5:55) you can see the words "Vacancies" and "Hancock's" put into focus. interesting
Ahh Rebekah!!! I never get tired of The Princess Bride/Sherlock parallels, I love that movie!! :D I'm so glad you included it because I wanted people to SEE it SO bad and my little vids only have like 400 views ^,^ So thanks again for being a public face for our fandom, I can't stress that enough!!
I just watched your Sherlock Spoiled vids and they are AWESOME! I haven't seen a lot of the movies you lifted lines from, but it doesn't matter, your skill at matching the lines with the scenes is amazing! The ones I did see, you have clearly carefully chosen matching SCENES, not just any scene you could paste the lines onto. WOW.
good bacon Biscuits inna silly locomotive. this is perfect. who knew Sherlock was so ... in depth. Yo, this is some quality videos u have here. you've managed to impress me once again. now I have to wait for another video.... 😞
Those last few sentences of yours about how everyone would easily see the lovestory in the show if it was a straight lovestory left my crying because you are so utterly right. And I am sometimes so angry at that. All the people go "but The Woman" or "but he kisssed Molly and Janine" ... and I just want to scream in frustration and say why on earth do you see but do not observe???If this would be a heterosexual lovestory you all would clearly pick up on the fact that all of this women mean nothing at all to Sherlock in a romantic way. And NO Sherlock is not asexual as well. Cause again if it would not be a gay love you would recognise all the looks, the intimacy, the want and longing between John and Sherlock for what they are and meant to be. Not only friendships but also love and sexual desire. Johnlock is so plain to see. So obvious in front of us. How can people just not see it??? Do they watch another show then me? And if you only choose to not see it because you don't want it to be a gay lovestory... even worst simply because you don't like it ... than hell yes. You most definitely should go and see another show. Cause this awesome show is full of homosexual and bisexual characters. And everybody in the show is just fine about it. And damn that is what society should feel about it: it's all fine. P.s. As English is not my mother language I hope this is understandable.
I watch all these tropes and the one thing that nags at my mind is... Merlin... Merthur. All these tropes! Right! There! Brilliant video, I was really excited to watch this one. Well, also incredibly excited for ALL your videos!
And I'm so scared it won't happen. I've seen an add, in which Sherlock says "I love you", and I'm so terrified of if they're going to do something to make it not happen, or to not happen quite right... I'm just so scared... So very scared it physically hurts...
I know right?! It's absolutely terrifying to me as well. It feels almost like this will be a tease but it wouldn't make sense, they've been leading up to this moment, I just hope they're not fooling, I will actually freaking sob if JohnLock becomes a real thing I will be that happy... heres hoping that this new series brings Sherlock and John's feelings to light.
I want to thank you for your videos. I discovered your channel a few days ago (while looking at videos on queerbaiting) and ended up bingewatching all of them. I want to thank you (and all the people who work on tjlc meta) because this idea, that tjlc is real, is making me happy and hopeful. I went from having giving up on the show, identifying it as queerbaiting (because I saw most of what tjlc points out, except for the moments that show that the writers talk to us ans that they intend to make johnlock canon). I believe the writers were just toying with us in a bad way and were never going to deliver. Now, I still believe there are some evil writers out there and I still need to protect myself so I am not 100% certain that this is not just pure queerbaiting, but I am 90% hopeful/convinced that it will happen. That johnlock will become canon and that me and you beautiful people will be able to rejoice and scream "we told you so" to the world. Also, the tv show Hannibal helps me believing there is a new era of queer representation in mainstream media coming and that BBC Sherlock could be part of it. TJLC has made me happy, if anything, so I thank the community and your videos for that. (Also I am terrified nothing will happen season 4 and they will drag it up to have it happen only in season 5 and I need someone to hold me and tell me everything will be alright) (and I have been trying to drag my friends down in tjlc hell with me, wish me luck)
This is the best script yet! It is so clear & persuasive & lovely, well paced and easy to follow. The last line was perfect! Thank you for making this whole project Rebekah! P.S. The Princess Bride is my fav comfort-food movie :')
The Princess Bride!!! Quite honestly one of my favourite sick day films, and this a perfect and wonderful video that just marries two things I completely love together ^_^ Keep up the good work!
Would you do a Q&A or " get to know me Video? I really love and appreciate you and what you do want to get to know you. Also I thank you for doing that. (Sorry if my English is not correct, it is not my native language so my writing is not good and I use Google Translate is not one hundred percent accurate.)
I really loved this one. Not only because I have seen so many of the romantic tropes myself on this show but mainly because I adore The princess bride and actually hadn't heard this connection before. :)
I know it has nothing to do with the romantic tropes but I'm irrationally upset that you didn't include the full scene in the Princess Bride where Vizzini has to choose one of the two cups.
Brilliant job Rebekah!! Speaking of parallels, there's also Vastra and Jenny from Doctor Who, I really hope to see your analysis on their relationship someday (both characters were written by Moffat) :) Thank you so much for all the hard work you put in these videos, never before I realized how much alike The Princess Bride and Sherlock actually are, what a nice surprise
"It's you. It's always you. John Watson, you keep me right." -Sherlock
Probably one of the most powerful lines in this whole show.
MamaMeme :'( :')
And probably one of the gayest lines in the show
Millions of ways of saying I love you and this was probably the best one.
Sherlock: I'll tell you next weeks lottery numbers. John: Ha ha ha ha ha Sherlock: Worth a try. If that does not show a knowledge great enough for an Old Married Couple don't know what does. Brilliant.
"I was so alone and I owe you so much"... my favourite line in alle the show, probably my favourite love quote. Seriously, it's heartbreaking.
7:11 "tell me where they are please! tell me. please!"
he begged ... twice!
does it ring a bell ?
Irene telling him she's have him beg for mercy TWICE!! well look at this!!!
I squinted my eyes during the last kiss scene in the princess bride and imagined it was johnlock
how desperate are we eh
Me HELP
Can we talk about how Sherlock even draws on the Princess Bride little mustache ?!!
Uh! I never thought of that! Thank you for talking about it.
Fancy_Bred when I first saw the show I laughed and pointed out the moustache he drew. I was a TPB fan before Sherlocked and still oblivious to the existence of TJLC. (I ship everyone with everyone so I thought I was alone with the johnlock ship).
he wot
It still surprises me that after john found out him and mary were going to have a baby he just awkwardly patted Mary instead of hugging her
This may sound odd, but I'm pretty sure this show and the crazy in depth analysis helped my own analysis skills and is helping me pass my literature exams???? Thanks so much man lmao

Phoebe Lawrence WE HAD TO ANALYZE PICTURES IN CLASS AND I WENT INTO SO MUCH DEPTH AND DETAIL COMPARED TO BEFORE I STARTED THIS SERIES
You looked so smug when you started describing Princess Bride I may have spit my tea out laughing.
"Gay romance isn't perverse or bizarre. It's the story." This sums up all my feels.
This is one of my favourite TJLCE videos! Once you actually realise how many classic romantic tropes are used between John and Sherlock, it's ridiculous how cheesy the show becomes. Brilliantly done, as always! :)

its good right?!
Jada Leopold OMG YES

I can't watch the cemetery scene without bawling my eyes out 😭 the grief is just too palpable. I don't think anyone could disagree that that's not how you grieve after a friend, is how you grieve after a life partner
True story: my mother in law said she named my husband Wes after Westley from The Princess Bride (because it's her favorite film)
Sion Jesse your mother in law is my role model. I actually tried to grow buttercups in my garden after I first saw the movie when I was 11. I stead just grew roses because they were less tedious and would give them to my teachers quoting the movie. My theater teacher loved me. XD

I'm waiting for them to kiss, get married, and strut into the sunset... with Sherlock being the adorable dork he is.

me: *not entirely convinced about tjlc*
me: *watches 1 of your videos* 'well damn"
actually, in the pre-court mirror Held Gaze scene from TRF Sherlock and John aren't looking at each other - Sherlock is the one to look at John when John is looking at himself, but when John's eyes move towards him, Sherlock's gaze moves to himself as if he wasn't looking. these are very minimal eye movements that require much much focus but it's there. idk i think it makes it much sadder :(
yeah, the way they keep looking at each other and away, so as not to get caught looking. :( LET THEM LOOK!!
I liked this Mike on the beggining - he seems to like Sherlock and call him friend. He is so cute.
If this doesn't convince the antis, nothing will.
Merpug They'll try to bromance it.
well, they already bro upped The Hug....
Soledad Suarez Peabody because there was nothing more to it.
The "I Want My Beloved Happy" trope is no joke. I'm living it right now and it sucks.
It's been 6 years, hass anything changed?
I hope it's better now
Teacher : How did u spend ur summer
Me: Laying down in bed eating chips and watching TJLC explained videos on daily basis about Sherlock BBC 🎉
your channel has more content than the actual bbc show im so proud of you
YOU KNOW WHAT I CAN'T BELIEVE? This glorious video reminded me of it ("reminded" - as if I'm not thinking about it 24/7) at 6:58 - I CANNOT BELIEVE that when Janine says, "Whatever it is you are," JOHN APPEARS AT THE DOOR. RIGHT THEN. WHAT. WHY. WHY
'Held Gaze' - It's called eyefucking!
This is my new favourite episode of TJLCE. Because all of this is literally TEXT and some people are still so blind jdkfhskf

And Mycroft says that Sherlock wanted to be a pirate as a child!!!
Thoroughly enjoyable! The Princess Bride comparison is brilliance. Loved it. I'm calling John "Buttercup" from now on.
This episode is so interesting, I can't wait to watch s4 and finally see the declaration of love and kiss we all want to see!
i hope it happens in season 5
Tony Winters it probably will, but i really can't wait anymore..
Ik but i dont want the series to end 😞
ExplosiveCat i have a feeling were going to end up getting a season 5
These videos make me so happy
I actually love for these videos holy crap. I BELIEVE SO HARD AFTER BINGING YOUR VIDEOS PLS KEEP BEING AWESOME
I love your episodes. I smile all the way through them. Its so obvious I'm so surprised anti-johnlockers actually exist.
I found your channel and THAT made me watch Sherlock, because I never had time for tv shows, but this time I made an exception (because I'm sick and I have few days on my hands) and I watched it in 2 days. That would not only be one of the best plots in tv series history but also an amazing breakthrough for LGBT+ community.
Thanks for all this great work! 😊
The amount of evidence is just overwhelming. I gotta show this to everyone i know. Thanks Rebekah
Omg!! I have always thought that both pills during the Study in Pink episode were poisoned, but the driver had built up an immunity to the poison (remember the audience was never explicitly told whether or not Sherlock chose the correct pill) just because the set up of the scene reminded me so much of the Ioncane Powder scene
I've seen all your videos but ffs this one is just.... hitting the nail on the head. its too much for my heart
I am delighted not to be the only one who's made the Princess Bride connection with Sherlock! This was so fun to watch! Thank you SO much! ^5
It would be an awkward coincidence for Moffat, stating so vehemently that he loves this movie/book and putting whole plot lines of it into Sherlock, not intending to put the meaning of these tropes in, too, I mean: By creating, you would normally realise those things, wouldn't you. xD (Well, as for me, I do.)
Btw, it's kind of cute how the little boy represents the homophobic/blind audience.
Eva Trost BBC is a not for profit organisation
maithri swamy honestly, The writers NEED to reveal the the story of johnlock because if they don't, they will be just one more brilliant show that threw away what could have made it glorious and possibly go down in history.
Ahh I just noticed the heart eyes on John and Sherlock in the background
We need to make a PrincessBrideLock au
Ruby, that is basically the show, innit? LOL
lol I understand the desire for this, but also you'd just end up with literally the show we have now hahaha
Only finding your videos now. They are making recovery from surgery bearable.
And now I’ve fangirl squealed because you have proved my favorite maxim: EVERYTHING can be explained by The Princess Bride!
Hope your recovery goes smoothly!!
The apology is because I know some people's brains will go there anyway)
" _I was there for you before, I'll be there for you again. I will always be there for you._ "
Mycroft Holmes to Sherlock Holmes in The Abominable Bride
EVERYONE EVERYWHERE should (must) watch your video ! it's incredible ! it's revealing ! it's enlightening ! :D Thank you so much !
Rebekah!
I'm not sobbing you're sobbing. this is legit one of my favorite movies and I'm so glad that people have made these connections :,)
Slap my ass and call me sally, what a video! Thank you!
These videos will have a really positive legacy in years to come.
could be "a happy announcement *by the end of the week*" a methapor for "at the end of the show" ?
Its so bad because i ship it so hard and all of the evidence you give is so compelling but i just cant imagine it ever happening aaghhh
You're the best! You give me faith in Johnlock when all hope seems to have failed. Also you're very pretty :)
I know it has nothing to do with the video, but I had to say it!
I'm probably not great at research, anyway.
the clip of john watching sherlock pull him out of the fire??? im dead
Thanks for another great video. I really admire Ben and Martin more and more knowing that this is the kind of program they signed on for.
Haha totally called the princess bride! And that is such an archetypal romance, too, not just any casual romance.
The John and Sherlock pop figures at the top right shelf have heart eyes 😂😂
Those John and Sherlock dolls with heart eyes in the background ^^ ♥
WOW.
I love them SO much.
good bacon Biscuits inna silly locomotive. this is perfect. who knew Sherlock was so ... in depth. Yo, this is some quality videos u have here. you've managed to impress me once again. now I have to wait for another video.... 😞
Rebekah TJLC Explained take ur time. Thanks for ur hard work, nerd.
P.s. As English is not my mother language I hope this is understandable.
the pirouette at the end of the new opening is my exact reaction at this video I loved it!
I watch all these tropes and the one thing that nags at my mind is... Merlin... Merthur. All these tropes! Right! There!
Brilliant video, I was really excited to watch this one. Well, also incredibly excited for ALL your videos!
I just love Princess Bride. This is comparisson is amazing! I didn't notice that and it's so true!!
Please for the love of god I need JohnLock to be a thing in series 4 so bad it makes me want to cry!!!!!
I think this video was the most convincing of all yet! I it soooo obviously a love story!
It's rough being the only fan here since like 3 years :'( hello anyone?
As soon as you started listing...I knew it was PB!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing!
(Also I am terrified nothing will happen season 4 and they will drag it up to have it happen only in season 5 and I need someone to hold me and tell me everything will be alright)
(and I have been trying to drag my friends down in tjlc hell with me, wish me luck)
Trust me, most native speakers care less about proper grammar and spelling than we language learners do. Your English looks fine to me.
Canines of unusual size... Thank you for thirty (30!) brilliant episodes
This is your best video yet imo, I'm actually fangirling rn after months of not watching Sherlock omg
Speaking of parallels, there's also Vastra and Jenny from Doctor Who, I really hope to see your analysis on their relationship someday (both characters were written by Moffat) :)
Thank you so much for all the hard work you put in these videos, never before I realized how much alike The Princess Bride and Sherlock actually are, what a nice surprise
It's ok to leave some things for other people to do. ;) You are doing so much already, and so well!
I am like a little more than 10 minutes in, how many romantic tropes did the writers use like holy shit this is a lot
YAYYY NEW EPISODE
you convinced my very passionate sherlolly/sheriarty shipping friend that she was wrong you're a legend
+Rebekah TJLC Explained haha i love the princess bride stuff it's 👌👌👌
