Nice to see Philip Fracassi getting mentions, very involved in his community author and an outstanding storyteller. There is so much new horror coming out this year, looking forward to it.
Episode 13 and Ancient Images sound right up my alley! Also need to check out Delicious Monsters. Pinata sounds excellent as well! Agony's Lodestone is also getting added to the list. The Cherished and Games for Dead Girls also sound really good. So many good books on this list. Gonna have to come back and rewatch this to get all of them written down for my tbr list. All the cursed and lost film books are definitely going to get devoured. Thank you for all the recs, Mandy!
So many great horror books coming out, I need more time to read! I'm looking forward to Don't Fear the Reaper by Stephen Graham Jones. And I just finished Bad Cree which was released on January 10th and it was excellent! My first 5/5 of the year.
I cannot wait for Killing It! Fantasticland is one of my favorite horrors. Definitely check out the audiobook for it if you can! It sounds like a full cast but it’s only two narrators. And it’s made up of interviews, so it’s really easy to listen to. Thanks so much for making this video! I added lots of books to my 2023 list 😂
Just finished How to Sell a Haunted House, not at all what I expected but I loved it! Some wild, creepy stuff! Don't want to spoil anything, best to go in blind.
Mandy, have you read Flicker by Theodore Roszak? Experimental Film by Gemma Files? Marisha Pessl's Night Film? William Gibson's Pattern Recognition? All great eerie books about film and its dark magic, each story standing on its own patch of horror ground. Ancient Images by Ramsey Campbell is one of his classics; you'll enjoy it.
Please pick up Ancient Images by Ramsey Campbell, he is in my circle of fave writers. Episode Thirteen sounds interesting. 😱 new book from Craig Russell, definitely a must-have ! I absolutely ❤️ his other book The Devil's Aspect.
I'm looking for a book with a similar feel to the bird box. Something apocalyptic because of creatures. I LOVE the bird box book but have read it now several times and really want something with a similar vibe if anyone has any suggestion please
I have no idea if you have read or mentioned this book yet (I’m almost through all your videos), but have you read Daughters unto Devils by Amy Lukavics? It’s so unsettling and one of my fave horror books. It came out a few years ago (by publishers Harlequin Teen , weirdly). I cannot recommend Amy Lukavics enough.
@@mandysmorgueofhorror you should definitely look it up! There is a scene later in the book that so disturbed me I had to put it down for a couple of days lol Another one of hers is called The Woman in the Walls, which is a good read as well.
Psychedelic splatter? Never thought I would hear those two words together, let alone the same day hours after I find out Dolly Parton and James Patterson wrote a book together
Hi Mandy.....wanted to inform u of an awesome horror-comedy, indie movie I saw in Tubi. Its called, "Don`t f*** in the woods 2" and its really cool. Has great FX, good wit, great acting and a plotline that is unique and not generic like many zombie movies end up being. Check it out.
Gothic by Phillip Fracassi was so good. I really enjoyed it.
@@mimirudollfie3532 good to know! I still need to read it - thanks for the reminder
I love your energy and passion for horror novels
Thank you!
I was a teenager in the 80s .loved the horror books .fashion and 80s music. A great selection of books you got. Enjoy your reading.❤😊
Me ,too! Love the 80's!

I read beneath a pale sky by him, and absolutely loved it even though short stories usually underwhelm me
Definitely give Fantasticland a read, it's so worth it. And if you like audiobooks, the audiobook on that is great and really gets you into the story.

I have Bad Cree, so I might have to read it next!
Finished how to sell a haunted house. Mixed thoughts, need to let it sit in my mind for a bit
Ugh Im SO EXCITED FOR LIKE 20 OF THESE
Ooo, I love a good snowy survival horror, so Killer and Neverest sound fantastic!

So good to see Ancient Images being rereleased, I’m definitely going to read that one soon.
Very excited about it!
Wow, what a list!! I am adding most of these to my wish list. My wallet and bookshelves can thank me later. 😂 🧡💙🧡
Great video! I need to add new horror books too many 😂 I gotta ask I love your hair color is it natural? Sorry I can't tell love it!
lol no it’s not natural - I get it done at the salon 💇♀️

I’ve read Night Film and love it! I actually did a video on cursed films and mentioned Flicker, Experimental Film - both are on my tbr!
2023 a year of horror!! 😱🎃 I adore the haunted / lost movie trope.
Please pick up Ancient Images by Ramsey Campbell, he is in my circle of fave writers. Episode Thirteen sounds interesting. 😱 new book from Craig Russell, definitely a must-have ! I absolutely ❤️ his other book The Devil's Aspect.
This is the first I’ve heard of his work, so I’m def excited to check it out!

Sold! I want a copy of Killer.
Have you ever seen the movie Orca the Killer Whale? I highly recommend it if you have not.
Omg I want them all 🥰

Devil's Creek - interesting, I read this in 2021, paperback released in June 2020. Wonder why it now says it's release date is 2023?
Nevermind, I looked at my copy and it was published by Silver Shamrock which is now defunct. Mystery solved for me lol
Have you read Into the Drowning Deep? That’s a really good horror mermaid story!
Not yet!
I like the creepy small town books and movies.
Dang it...I was doing so well until this video. I automatically pre-ordered two and put eight more on my wish list lol.
Lol sorry!
😍😍😍
I'm use to reading fantasy books at this point I'm ready to come to the dark side. 👻

The 80ties ruled, huh?!!
Devils creek came out 2-3 years ago
I know! I meant to say it’s being republished, but I could not for the life of me think of the word 😂
gave up on adding all the authors’ names in the description pretty quick i see
Lol I was up late editing and falling asleep - I can update soon!
