It's just absolutly mind-bending how high the qualitiy of your videos has gotten. I don't know how you create a almost 10min cinema movie every week, but this could easily run on netflix (or any other streaming service) and im so grateful for that.
This channel singlehandedly got me back into photography, after 3 years of my camera being on my shelf I've finally rediscovered my passion for the artform. So thank you GxAce.
I was a photographer for nearly a decade, and lost the thrill because I felt like I was never 'in the moment' and that I was always taking photos to look back, if that makes sense. This channel has reignited my enjoyment. This channel is what it means to capture those moments. Thank you GxAce.
Literally I’ve not shoot in about 25 years but after watching these videos it’s made me purchase a new camera & I’m beyond excited to get back out there! Now it’s frosty & foggy here, I will get some ghostly images! 💫🙌🏾
Man, I had a breakdown a few months ago, and I was ready to give up photography and everything else I love. This video made me cry, I cried everything I had and now I'm ready to get back, ready to shoot like I used to do. Thank you GxAce
I think that's how most photographers feel atleast once every couple of years.... but even when the flame is dim you just need someone to pour some gasoline on it and it's back burning brighter than ever!
I can't stress enough how much your videos inspire me. After 7 years of not shooting, you have gotten me back out there, now I'm enjoying photography more than ever. I just want to leave a thank you, and I look forward to your next video.
This video hit hard. This week has been really difficult : depressing weather, back pain, overworked... Yesterday morning i decided to wake up very early and took my camera. The city was still sleeping, a thick fog was covering everything. Being out alone in the dark, watching the day rise and the city life waking up felt incredible. Most pictures taken looked like shit, but i managed to have a few keepers that i really love. It makes you appreciate the little things. Just get out, close your social media. It might maybe make you a better photographer... but you will surely feel a better person. On a side note, i crave for these ambiant piano music. Would you mind sharing the song names in your credits ?
THANK YOU! From an interface designer (among many other things): It’s so refreshing to hear anyone mention this about the tools they use. They are part of your inspiration! My goal is to design things people _WANT_ to use, not things people _HAVE_ to use. Also, these videos are like little movies, amazing production quality. Keep it up! 🙏
This is a masterpiece. It isn't simply a UA-cam video, it is a cinematic love letter to photography. The level of filmmaking in this video is off the charts. Amazing work
This channel is a gem among rubble. Straight up some of the most interesting videos in the entire photo youtube space. I haven's been this excited about a channel in 5 years.
Your work could run on major streaming services and I wouldn't ever question it. The production quality and content of your videos are going from wonderful to jaw-dropping... Keep up the great work!
Your photography is so strong. I really do appreciate it. The overall content quality is always outstanding but every time I find myself pausing to gaze at and enjoy individual images. Not only is the work well constructed, formally speaking, but it always feels personal and connected I can't tell you how refreshing that is. Thank you.
3 mins 46 seconds! Must be one of the most beautiful shot/story I have ever seen! I can watch it all day......The videos you make are beyond good and evil ......
I love that you included Adam talking about his titanium saw. I remember watching the video and almost spending a few hundred bucks for a tool I will rarely use, just because of his passion talking about it.
I just want to say, as a student studying film currently, these 10 minute videos are honestly just cinematically so amazing it’s mind boggling. I hope your channel will gain many more subscribers.
6:27 This shot is SO beautiful. You can see she’s actually releasing the shutter - and then the smile? Amazing! This short little scene captures the joy of photography so well.
It’s so hard to put into words the amount of work that goes into your videos that translates so well to the viewer. Great themes and well structured “video essays”. What blows my mind is how cohesive everything is from reviews to videos like these and even tying it all together with the sci fi lore. It’s just so good and I’m so glad your work is paying off and getting recognition
I guess I shouldn't be surprised at seeing James Hoffman @5:47. His appreciation for industrial design in coffee making equipment equals yours with cameras.
I totally agree with this. When I see people saying it doesn't matter how a camera looks, I've often thought, if you're a photographer, shouldn't you care about how things look?
Man I was almost in tears seeing all of those unique people with their equally unique cameras. Really made me stop and think about how working in the industry has the ability to take the art out of it, but how there is always beauty to be found no matter where you go. Thank you.
SO COOL! Thank you so much for including me in your video Casey. This was such an important message and as always an amazingly put together video. You are going to take over the world with this UA-cam it’s just something else entirely. So cool getting the community involved, love it! 📸🤗🙋🏻♀️🎞️
Consistently impressed. You have yet to post a 'youtube video;' calling your visions anything less than film would be an understatement. Every frame bleeds passion for the craft. Dripping with detail. Thank you.
seeing all of the creators I love most with their cameras was amazing in this video. Thanks for making it. As an industrial designer I hope everyone can start appreciating things they have, they own, that they were given access to by the designers over countless hours of designing and consideration. I hope someday everyone can learn to love their "things"
It’s really inspiring how amazing your narrative work is with these videos, you’ve taken ‘tech discussions’ on UA-cam to an incredible level, never stop doing what you do, you’ve reinvigorated my passion for video creation.
I think that everyone should remeber things you are saying in this video. Very improtant topic, often overlooked by people, which can lead to burnout and anxiety. Also, as always production quality of your videos is just insane. Thank you Gx that you are doing those masterpieces for us and I cannot wait to see more!
I don’t own a single camera, I’m looking to, shortly - but it hardly matters in my enjoyment of what you do… these videos are so beautiful, I’m so grateful when they pop up in my feed - they fill me up. Thank you x
Every episode is a visual masterpiece, packed with not only stunning graphic but also a deeper sense of meaning - actual, worth-watching content. Congratulations.
I thought this video was something else. It’s my favorite video I’ve watched this year. Insane, man! Besides how incredible the videos are, the storytelling in this one is beautiful!
This is such a good point! I think what happens with me is I get really frustrated with myself when I lust over the object and the idea of making something rather than just making something and that’s where the mindset of “it’s just a tool” comes from. But man, when you have a cool tool and it’s eminently functional, chef’s kiss.
I gotta say, I was really touched by the part where all of the photographers showed their tools, amazing video again, keep em coming and I hope more subscribers and views will come too!
This is a solid point for anyone who does a craft with a growth mindset where the tool is a positive and integral part of creation and flow. As a counterpoint, it ignores the reason why the "camera doesn't matter" argument is being made: a lot of people in any craft or hobby feel that nice things make them level up by default, like greatness is the finish line and the tool was the limiter. The romanticizing of the tool is important in a craft, but confuses growth with the dopamine hit of technical achievement or prestige. Your channel is a testament to a craftsman and growth mindset so it looks obvious coming from you, but countless people are frustrated that after the high of their new purchase, their photos and videos still suck. Unrelated, but I've been really enjoying the enormous effort and creativity in your videos, thanks for these incredible works!
I remember, years ago, when you created this incredible camera aperture blade plug for lightsabers. I missed out on that run (one of my biggest purchasing FOMOs), but I thought that brought such an incredible visual aspect to the lightsaber, and I 100% agree that simple cool things like that can just transform how you see something. Loved this video.
Once again I’m so mind blown how amazing your videos are. For me as an ongoing filmmaker, they are so insanely inspiring and helpful! Thank you very much for your art.
I don’t think I’m over exaggerating when I say that you’re the most creative, unique and refreshing content creators I’ve seen in a generation, I’ve never seen someone bend the narrative of what UA-cam content should look and feel like quite like this before
Thanks for making these videos🙌 I'm currently studying film and recently had no feeling to go out and create. Ever since I found your channel, I have remembered just how much I love this creative world of cinematography and photography, and why I ever picked up a camera in the first place. I believe that with any great tool there are always even greater things that can be made using it. I use a Fujifilm X-T30 ii and absolutely love using it! It's such an amazing piece of machinery, and I still feel I am yet to even scratch the surface of it. Thanks again for being such a big inspiration and influence and can't wait for the next video👀
a true photographer youtube channel. not just a guy who takes shots of people on the street with low aperture for views. no, someone who understands the art of photography. keep at the amazing work - a new patreon is coming your way!
I came to this channel for a specific camera video and now I'm in complete awe with your work. From the writing to the insane quality in editing and filming skills, everything you produce is inspiring. Thank you, Gx! Ah, the 21x9 aspect ratio is absolutely beautiful for aesthetic videos. I can't describe how cool it is when a UA-cam Video fills my entire 21x9 monitor screen.
It's called fetishization, attributing the value/appreciation/desire of one thing instead of another. Consumption works well because it has become that: supplying non-existent "needs", and placing objects of consumption as responses to those created needs. I "need" a new lens, I "need" a more powerful camera... Maybe you need to put a little more interest and care in what you already do/have . . .
I can't answer that for you. But why do you ask? Maybe... . I only raise ideas on a topic that you expose, here in a public forum. I have no problems with the methods and objectives of the design, but when consumption is put before all the other premises of the work, it only remains to see how a certain form of economic model takes over everything else. "Fashion design" does more harm than good in the long run... . (and no, getting 'more stuff' doesn't necessarily make our job better. Collectors are cool, but they're not become great photographers/filmmakers just for that)
It's also surprising how often you can find interesting gear in thrift stores, everthing from a Pentax ME Super with most of it's accessories to a Sony FD-75 Mavica, wishing I had a 80mm lens only to layer find a EF 28-80mm "ultrasonic" zoom that fits the bill well enough, or finding a old EF 50mm F1.8 that I can keep on my Rebel Ti so my 3 canon cameras don't need to fight over the newer one. Sure I have to find accessories, film/sd cards/3.25" floppies, batteries, and chargers to get them working, but cleaning these oddballs up, and giving them a chance to live again... if only in my amature hands, feels nice. Nothing sadder than something or someone left alone and forgotten slowly deteriorating, given power and something to record to a shocking number of these cameras just spring back to life like no time has passed, the FD-75 Mavica is weirdly my favorite even with a Rebel T6 and a M200 that massively outclass it, it doesn't care that 22 some odd years of digital cameras left it in the dust, it still happily writes it's 640x480 photos to a 1.44 megabyte floppy disk for me to load up on my computer later, using a colorful usb floppy drive of nearly the same vintage. Heck, with the new batties I've given it, that old thing has endurance for days, WEEKS, and something about that beeping whirring plastic brick of a otherwise ordinary point and shoot camera... just makes me happy and inspired to use it, and by extention the rest of my odd collection, also makes me want to find the FD-95, the last of those diskette cameras... if only to help justify the almost silly amount of new-and-old 3.25" floppies I've amassed and perhapse give my favorite oddball a partner in crime

This video is almost an ode to the channel, the quality of finish and the attention to details in your content mirrors the way that you talk about cameras. Excellent vid
Man! what a storytelling. Like in a world full of short attention spanned people like me, you made us watch the full 8 minute video like the were 8 seconds. I was so INTO the video! Didn't think about anything else... Definately gonna observe your work and will try to learn from that...!!
I can't belive, you got James Hoffman involved in this video! For me, this is two of my worlds colliding in the best possible way! So refreshing - amazing video!
Watching your videos is pure enjoyment. I even find they make my subconscious try to convince me to pick up a proper video camera and an anamorphic lens, even though my frontal lobe knows I really don't have the patience required to add a cinematic dimension to my videos.
I'm addicted to your short form cinema graphic visuals, the sci-fi feel from the color grading to the music and story telling. You perfectly display how i feel on the inside.

I'm just a simple man trying to do my own UA-cam dark photography channel and then I stumble upon your greatness...how do I compete? Simply sublime work! You are an inspiration. I hope i can be ten percent how cool your channel is.
This video speaks to my soul Not only did your channel help me pull the trigger on my Fujifilm camera but I’ve been going out every couple of days with it. I haven’t felt this inspired in years. So thank you 🙏🏽
I made the jump to becoming a full time commercial photographer now two years ago, but in the process, have lost my passion for shooting for myself and my own enjoyment. Your channel has inspired me so much to get back into my own personal work, and appreciate the art of documenting life. Thank you for creating such inspiring videos
You are absolutely my fav youtuber. I’m a 3rd generation photographer and lost my interest in photography long ago, slowly getting my way back and your videos are inspiring. Thank you
This video resonates with me deeply and the quality is beyond words! I am so happy to see someone in the youtube camera community with such originality and top tier quality of content!
This is absolutely beautiful, in every sense. Something I can wholeheartedly agree with and one of the reasons I shoot with a Fuji. The styling, tactile dials and buttons and the beautiful image quality from their X-Trans sensors and film simulations makes the X-T series an absolute joy to use. My passion for photography increased immensely after adopting a Fuji system.
I love that this video is about gear, in the most human way possible. Everything is made to fit our hands, but we have eyes also. Since I got my x100f I feel more connected to my art than ever, it goes wherever I go. More than my pleasure of using it, other people find it interesting, they ask about it, I find it the best "pin" to tell everyone you're a photographer without screaming it
The most part of the video/photo yt channels always review cameras and accessories with cold perspective, talking about features and specifications. That information is really easy to find in the company website and stores. That's the reason I really love this channel. I can find important information about the photography: the feelings, the result, the experience, the passion for the medium, and so on. It's a real shelter for genuine photographers that we are done with all the technical and boring stuff. We want to enjoy photography regardless our level. In addition the production of the videos is really amazing and curated. Love it.
Honored to be in this video on a topic that I couldn’t agree more with! Why else would I buy that insane 8x10 camera! The experience is second to none and motivates me to create!
It is not Lindbergh, not Newton, not Kummerfeldt, it is your work that affected and inspired me the most. And it is said with the utmost sincerity. You have changed my core views on photography, and the quality of your work inspires me to just be better. Just wanted to say thank you.

Easily. The art on this channel is *better* than most things I've seen on netflix.

Step 1 - like Blade Runner aesthetics. A lot
Step 2 - talk about whatever tf

The montage of people putting cameras up their faces is absolutely world class. Wouldn’t look out of place in a feature film just incredible.

I love how many jumped on board for that scene. Such great storytelling.
You're carrying the photography & cinematography niche on UA-cam right now. Taking things to a whole new level. Truly impressive work man.

Just fell in love with the cinematography
no me imaginaba encontrarle aquí
This is defiantly one of my favorite videos on UA-cam now. I try to explain this idea to others and some understand, and others do not.
I missed this video due to work.
Never disappoints how much dedication you put into your videos. Beautiful video as always!
I've been shooting since I was 12, I'm 48!! This is superb on all levels. The colors, the depth of field, composition.. Thank you !!!!

This video is almost an ode to the channel, the quality of finish and the attention to details in your content mirrors the way that you talk about cameras. Excellent vid
The production quality is beyond anything on UA-cam. Blows my mind every video again.
Man! what a storytelling.
Turns out he is a member of my patreon! So cool. Thanks :)
Watching your videos is pure enjoyment. I even find they make my subconscious try to convince me to pick up a proper video camera and an anamorphic lens, even though my frontal lobe knows I really don't have the patience required to add a cinematic dimension to my videos.
Thanks!
This is a love letter to cameras and photography
I'm addicted to your short form cinema graphic visuals, the sci-fi feel from the color grading to the music and story telling. You perfectly display how i feel on the inside.

This is next level work.
The cinematic feel and the striking visuals make this more than just an informative video, it's pure art.
I'm just a simple man trying to do my own UA-cam dark photography channel and then I stumble upon your greatness...how do I compete?
Simply sublime work! You are an inspiration. I hope i can be ten percent how cool your channel is.
This video speaks to my soul
Not only did your channel help me pull the trigger on my Fujifilm camera but I’ve been going out every couple of days with it.
You might just be the most creative person on the web. Really enjoy your particular style of story telling.
Man, you are an amazing artist. You are the definition of that Homelander's meme "Perfect, down to the last minute detail"
👍
hope you know how inspiring / dope your videos are at the same time, thank you so much man
I love that this video is about gear, in the most human way possible.
Love it.
You're on an entirely different level! Another incredible video! Cheers GxAce!
Glad you think so! :). Cheers, Macho!
i think this is your the best video right now
It's just so refreshing to see someone boldly say this. Thank you.
I watch UA-cam videos about cameras everyday and have been for years . I have never seen this channel . This shits amazing! Love the synthwave style .
