What a coincidence, we stayed there in February/March 2019 for a month. It was my 50th Birthday trip. That view blew us away! It was before Duarte did the renovations. It looks fantastic now and the second bathroom is a real bonus! Congratulations from a couple envious Canadians.

Yes! It looks like it was beautifully done, clean and modern. Last time we were in Madeira we stayed on the flat in Funchal (above La Vie) for a month and then a week in Calheta and a week in Machico. We ❤ Madeira and will be back again. Such a beautiful island! Enjoy your retirement. You are missing -25 here this week 🥶

We were planning to early retire somewhere on the Silver coast of Portugal , but now catching a glimpse of Madeira, I might change my mind. You have a beautiful home with an amazing view.
Ha ha that was our original plan - to start on the mainland and move year to year. That area is beautiful, but Madeira just won our hearts, and the weather is better here year-round 😉. But really, one can't go wrong nearly anywhere in Portugal! Good luck on your decisions! Doug & Monique.

Congrats on Vila Doce. Looks like you two made an excellent purchase and got a very good deal. That's exactly the kind of place my wife and I are looking for. We're finalizing a rental in Porto and want to spend 2 years there taking language classes and using it as a base while taking trips to Madeira to start looking for a place to purchase.
