I bought a Beaver! Or part thereof.

- After years of flying the DeHavilland Beaver, I’ve finally bought my own as a project!
This DHC-2 is a 1964 model and hasn’t flown since the early 2000’s. It has the Advanced Wing Technology wings, which allow the MTOW to be increased to 6050 pounds.
It’s going to take a lot of work to rebuild / restore, and will be a future project, so don’t expect too many restoration updates for a while! Like all vintage aircraft restorations, I expect there to be many hold ups! (Such as finding an R985 radial for it, and a prop!)
I'm a former bush pilot and have almost 300hrs in a Beaver on floats and skis. An amazing aircraft!!
Still my favourite of all time!
"It has a seat which is um ... very handy for sitting on," - best line in the video. Had me laughing so much! 🤣
Haha, I'm glad to be of service!
Gotta love your enthusiasm!! Hope you have very, very deep pockets!! $$$$$$$$$$😱
No, just plenty of bad ideas!
@@aeroplanetoby 😂❤️...🫤
cool, i love the beaver! good luck with it
Thanks mate! I love them too.
Hope you have good luck with the restoration very interesting..
Thanks mate!
That's a project!
Maybe a candidate for the RED V12 conversion? I don't think they've got their paper in order yet; but looks like you're going to be a while before you get to teh engine anyway.
Haha a project and a half! I think I'll be a long way off needing an engine, but that V12 conversion does look quite interesting!
congrats! can wait to see what you do with her!
Thanks mate!
Got to be happy when your working on a beaver :-)
Always!
Can you get a spare engine and prop from that Harbour Air / MagniX electric Beaver conversion project in Vancouver?
How about the one they fished out of Coal Harbour last week ?
There’s actually two companies who still overhaul / exchange them, which is very handy!
