Today's word of the day is 'fulsome'.
Fulsome is an adjective. It is usually used in a disapproving way.
It means being too generous in praising or thanking somebody, or in saying sorry, so that you don’t sound sincere.
    The adverb is ‘fulsomely’.
Fulsome first appeared in English in the mid-13th century.
    Some example sentences are:
‘Our guests were fulsome in their compliments about the food.’
‘Despite his fulsome compliments, she couldn't help but feel he was hiding something.’
‘During the awards ceremony, the winner was fulsomely celebrated for his contributions to the industry.’
