Bought a 86 Honda Helix for a winter project. I plan on "going through" all the systems to make sure it's ready to ride and eventually sell/flip. Your videos are well done and the content is just what I need to help me through the project. Thanks for your effort in recording and posting them.
Tony, my thermostat housing and cover need to be replaced on my 86 CN250. I'm having difficulty finding the outlet. It seems it has been discontinued. I've found one for a CH150. Looks very similar, do you think it would work?@@1tonysgarage
Thanks man. I appreciate your videos. I bought an 09 Chinese helix cf250t. Been abused. I got it running great. New plastics, and front brake master cylinder ordered.
I put 20g dr pulley sliders.. I ride with wife on back a lot. 35mph up it made a very noticeable difference. Hole shot is good too. But I’m loving the roll on power.
I had 21g sliders in ch250, actually lost top end trying out 24g ones as the engine does not run peak rpm on highway no more, going back to lighter ones.
@@timothyabbott6698 I have 25g right now depends do u want to take off quick and lower gas mileage or u ride 2 up then I would say 21-22g if u don’t care about take off and want the motor calm and don’t ride 2 up I would say 25g stock is 23g
What exactly do the rollers control? New to the helix I only know how to work on Harley’s so I’m trying to learn all I can, I do a lot of highway riding what rollers would be best for me? Or should I not even mess with it since it’ll do around 70 mph all day on the highway
Rollers work from 2-63mph after that it’s all motor if u want more take off put lighter rollers and a little slower take off go heavier stock is 23g I’m running 24g
@@1tonysgarage I could care less about take off, I use this scoot to go far , not go fast lol, I reckon I’ll try out some 24’s and maybe even try higher cause I pretty much only ride mine on the highway, I do little city riding, and I’m riding this ole 86 helix almost 200 miles a day 😂
@@1tonysgarage where do you order them? I can’t find anything that’s just 25gs or 26gs they all say crazy stuff like 24x11 26x18 some crap like that lol , thanks for any help man
What was your top speed with the 22g rollers? Mine are starting to flat spot, so I want to put something in there for a little more top speed. 23.2 seems to be stock, I was thinking about 24, but I wonder if I'll lose top speed from being lower RPMS and out of the powerband. I have no problems with acceleration, It's plenty for me, so I'm fine with losing some in town acceleration for better highway cruising.
@@1tonysgarage I have an update. I took my variator apart and the Variator Drive Boss was dry and rusty. The Boss was hard to move and to get it out of the variator, I had to tap it with a large socket. After dealing with that and greasing it, putting new stock rollers in, it actually runs with lower rpm and there isn't this rpm hang for a bit before you get up to around 30 when the rpm would suddenly drop. Now it stays pretty consistently lower revs up until around 50 or so and ramps up in rpm, but not nearly as high as before. The variator was staying stuck in a lower ratio until enough force could overcome the rusty boss shaft and finally move. Now the bike feels quite a bit more sluggish from a stop since it's not hanging the revs for so long, so I might actually eventually swap the variator for a Malossi or Dr. Pulley and go down in roller weight to get back the low speed grunt I was getting with the sticking variator. I may try sliders but I'm not sure yet

What’s your final weight and top speed?
My dr pulley 24g rollers were delivered today!’ Will put them in tomorrow. Stocks are fist flat spurred.
Hey Dave, where did you buy your Dr pulley sliders? Is 24 grams stock or 23?
@@kevinspahr6632 Amazon. 24g is supposedly stock. Technically it’s 23.8g
@@kevinspahr6632 they are rollers like the ones in the video. Not sliders.
So if I wanted more top speed for freeway riding would I go up to 26g. Thanks
Ya less take off and more top speed
Would Dr Pulley 26g sliders be a bit much ?? I don't care about acceleration, just more speed...
Should be good my wife is running 26g she likes it. Thanks for watching
Dr pulley makes rollers also? If so, where did you purchase them?
Yes they make rollers parts for scooter’s.com thanks for watching
