- In this episode, I replace the timing belt, power steering pump belt, AC compressor belt, water pump and alternator belt, thermostat, and water pump.
This is my 1991 BMW E30, 318i, with M40 engine. Right hand drive, made in Malaysia. I am restoring it on my own, right here at home, in my porch, with some hand tools. The plan is to get the car to a "good working condition" so that I can use it as my main / only car. Hi perhaps you should starts the engine first to see whether it can starts and also show if the water pump got any leaks , we really would like to hear how the engine sound after repair. 😄

Position of the camshaft is at 7:24, crankshaft should be in the correct position already - if you i guess you can rotate it until the locking notch lines up with the locking hole (7:53).
There are two screw threads on either side of the waterpump. Insert two m6 and push out the w pump
Tried it. The screw threads are in 2 ears molded with the water pump casing. As they are drilled into the thin ears, the ears break instead of pushing out the pump.
Maybe it works if the pump is not stuck to begin with.
