      Except any survivors of the Halo Array's firing who weren't reset in tgeur technological development, be they human, forerunner, or even any of the other soecies we do ir don't kniw about... why would they only leave signs in the form of mythology? Why wouldn't they have recolonized the now empty(ish) galaxy?
      Sure there's already questions like that regarding the Forerunners, but at least there we can see a sort of logic where they viewed their solution to the Flood as a kind of failure, and thus either let themsekves be reset like everyone else after the Array fired, or even didn't reseed themselves at all, as a self-inflicted punishment.
      Ancient Humanity, especially in current lore, woukd have no reason not to rebuild Earth as it once was, then expand out to reforge their old empire, faster than before as they already know so much about wgat systems contain valuable resources and habitable worlds, not to mention taking advantage of their new Reclaimer status...

    I was thinking about this yesterday, if you would consider writing a book, along side with 343, about Ancient Humans, and Reevvolvied Humans us, how we would met.
    Also how it had to of happened, that the ForeRunners finally admitted to themselves, that they were wrong to have killed the Precursors, and stolen away, The Mental of Responsibility, out of nothing more than jealousy! Maybe that is why they deevolved Humans, inatead of not out right killing us off! And because as it was said humans are able to resist The Flood.
    And this also explains why The ForeRunners, did not aid, direct and assist other species, who might one day also become a bearer of the Mantal of Responsibility. Because they attained not by earning, but by conquest!
    Even in your telling Ancient Humans sheperded the Deevolved Humans, it is in our DNA, to look after others!

    I'm going to be cheeky and posit another hypothesis. Erde-Tyrene was the Librarian's "special population", and prior to their removal before the firing of the Halo's had shown a remarkable capacity to rebuild in some cases up to industrial ability.
    What if this was a "back up" population, a "control" population if you will, not imbued with geas, even perhaps made up of some of the some other 120 species that humanity consisted of? And perhaps in lieu of the advantage of being placed by the portal at Voi instead they were placed in the most intact ruins of ancient humanity.
    Anyway, would be interesting to see a vid speculating on the lore of humanities 120 subspecies - did the Librarian consider them collectively special, or just Homo Sapiens? e.g. it was noted on Erde-Tyrene humanity divided into species and of those only some, or one, devoloped industry in 1000 years.

    It’s only logical to think that Ancient humanity had at some point realized they were not going to win the war against the Forerunners. Therefore, it makes sense they would send off some kind of Ark to preserve humanity as they once were, to maybe start over someplace where the Forerunners could not find them.

    taking out the ancient aliens / ancient extraterrestrial humans stuff:
    it is possible a globaly sea fairing civilisation collection existed during the ice age. the end of the ice age roughly 12,500 years ago made that civilisation collaps, so that only subsistance farmers and hunter-gatherers survived, with some members of the old civilisation seeking refuge, but thier specialisation making them unable to teach sufficient knowledge besides common knowledge fragments to the more self suficient tribes. resulting in a relapse into the stoneage.
    the result is a weirdly similar shared culture across totaly seperated groups, seemingly out of place knowlege fragments like astronomy, and the seemingly sudden apearance of technologies like farming or the wheel.
    The deliberately burried gobecli tepe, the erosion on the sphinx quary, and the seeming degradation in stone jar perfection from pre dynatic to dynastic egyptian times fit that hypotheses. as for location, the then green and now desert sahara would have been a great garden of eden for this civilisation.

    • @Chrisspru
      @Chrisspru 8 місяців тому +4

      the civilisationm from what can be recovered, likely was about iron age in technological achivement. with geometry, astronomy, levers, farming, and cultivation of yeast, sourdough and terra preta known.
      they most likely had an incidental understanding of static electricity, highly developed understanding of acoustics, mathematics, iron metalurgy, and an unknown source of rock disolving chemicals (probably an ice age plant from mountainous regions).
      they probably lacked (compared to these advances) glas creation, ceramic creation and cement creation technology (lack of such findings), instead creating what now seems to be absurdly complex creations from natural minerals directly.
      bronze and gold from that era where likely long recycled.
      they maybe had laithes and used waterwheels and windmills for mechanical actions
      modern mankind could benefit from their probably more effective acoustic and mathematic rules of thumb and approximation methodes that are clear in the ancient architecture. the rock disolving agent (assumed to exist to not require them to have effectively cutting edge modern diamond tools) would be very benefitial too. terra preta and natural medicine source info would be helpfull too.

      While I could buy that there were civilizations during the ice age that were more advanced then we'd expect for that era, they were not a grand unified empire or even trading partners.
      This is proven by the simple fact that human genetics shows that our different ethinic groups were isolated and did not interbreed.
      Thus, there was no global empire, not unless you're going to argue that they were so thoroughly and effectively racially segregated that no one interbred?

    • @Chrisspru
      @Chrisspru 8 місяців тому +1

      @@RipOffProductionsLLC an unified empire seems very unlikely indeed.
      most likely a sea fairing empire in what is now the sahara desert, trading with other tribes. later its refugees moved to different tribes, barely adding to the genome but bringing more knowledge.
      the native hawaiians are descended from people who crossed the pacific.
      its far from impossible to have people who fled the desertifying sahara with bronze age or better technology crossed over to south america, india, europe and the middle east

    Not gonna lie, this gave me chills, as I'm writing my own fanfic, and I had a chapter that I already released where my character essentially inserted into the mind of an Ancient Human a hundred years or so before the final conflict on Charum Hakkor. He was a friend of Forthencho, and my character (with his meta-knowledge of Halo) told him what was to come after Humanity's loss against the Forerunners, their de-evolution, the Forerunner-Flood War, all the way to the time of the Human-Covenant War. He would lead a secret refugee fleet to outside of the galaxy, some 125,000 ly from the Galactic Center.
    It eerily lines up, somehow (wasn't even thinking of the materials spoken in this vid), with the possible way of what Forthencho's friend would do after the Halos had been fired, and the Forerunners left the galaxy after they sealed the Endless.
    Bloody hell. This is something else. A hell of a coincidence.
    EDIT: Changed from 25,000 ly to 125,000 ly from galactic center after being pointed out by a fellow commenter, and readjusted following further consideration from the lore (3 galactic radii equals to about 78,000-96,000 ly).

      Sounds great, it's always nice to hear about a fellow Ancient Humanity (AH) fan, especially one who has their own story of how some of them could have escaped past their canonical supposed end.
      One thing I noticed about your story is that if the secret escape fleet was stationed 25,000 ly away from the galactic center, wouldn't that still be within the range of the Halo Array, given that Guilty Spark explained that the full away would destroy all intelligent life within "three radii of the galactic center"?
      Besides that though, it sounds like a pretty promising story, and I wish you the best of luck on it!

      @@PackHunter117Or, alternatively, they could have their hands full trying to hunt down potential galaxies worth of Flood out there in the cosmos before they can do anything too irreparable. Remember, the Flood made a strategic retreat from the galaxy during the final Human-Forerunner War to make the Forerunners believe that the Humans had found a cure, and they only returned to start the Forerunner-Flood War. That's more than 10 millennia to prepare and infect things outside the galaxy, and with how ancient and intelligent the Flood hivemind is, it should logically have kept some forces and assets in reserve outside the galaxy, that way they could grow their forces in multiple fronts, not just the Forerunner one, and when the Halo Array fired, it wouldn't destroy all of the forces.
      If some Ancient Humans followed the Flood out of the galaxy to try and mitigate the damage they would do to the rest of the universe, they could potentially, through a combination of innovation and cooperation with new alien powers, keep up with the pace of Flood cosmic infestation and be the reason why everything in half the supercluster isn't infected already.

    There really is so much 343 could do with halo. It’s not at all absurd to suggest SOME humans didn’t get captured by the forerunner and devolved and as advanced as ancient humanity was, I really do think they could’ve created away to be immune the effects of the halo so they could’ve survived. I think it’d be cool if 343 had the ancient humans come back in the present and maybe help present humanity against the banished or even better yet, the endless or even forerunners as they can come back too especially since we know some fled to nearby galaxies it’s not absurd to suggest they too survived and kept their tech. Ancient humanity and forerunners “coming back” doesn’t have to be nor should it be like their entire respective civilszions coming back maybe only a few hundred of each are left, maybe the endless are something way more powerful than forerunners and ancient humans combined and THATS why they were such a great threat, that’s why maybe it would warrant ancient humanity helping modern humans. There’s so so much 343 could expand on and unpack from the original halo story stuff that is still halo. ALL of these could’ve perfectly piggy backed off halo 4s story easily. I don’t think the notion of ancient humanity helping devolved humanity bc it kinda takes away from the librarian doing her work to ensure humanities ascendancy so I like it better to think humanity is where it is now on their own minus being made smart enough to do it by the librarian. Maybe ancient earth civilizations looked that way bc, in some better more advanced fashion, ancient human architecture was always like that and that just carried in a lesser way when humans were devolved.

    One way I can see some Ancient Humans surviving the Halo Array would be if they were stored in a non-,biological data form, such as in the mid-transition process of a non-Slipspace teleporation process, therefore not being in a state that would ve vulnerable to the effects of the Array. The possible reason for this could be to efficiently preserve as many people in the smallest amount of space possible, as data forms would not need things like air, rest, medicine or nourishment, and they could be better protected deep within their ships and possibly better avoid notice from Forerunner and or Flood forces. These ships could discreetly move towards the edge of the galaxy into Dark Space (which still has a lot of stars, just in a lesser density compared to the main galaxy) or hide within celesrial objrcts or phenomena for extebded periods of time.
    This eould continue until the ships were either destroyed, something goes catastrophically wrong, or the ship AIs have enough reason to believe that their passengers can be safely led out again. In the event of the last option, they eill then be rematerialized into the baryonuc universe again,feeling like no time has passed at all snd hopefully finding a fully-developed colony waiting for them, courtsey of the AI systems utilizing local resources over time.

    I always loved your mystery 'deep dives' into weird or strange rabbit holes adjacent to the lore of the franchise that are unexplored and that we don’t know.
    Anyway, I love your video and I kinda accepted this as canon Especially the idea that the advanced humans helping and meeting their primitive cousins sounds very genius Plus it kind nods to the original lore of Bungie where we thought that we are the forerunners.
    This also reminds of what happened in the original halo 2 cut ending where the Arbiter would find a skeleton of a forerunner only reveal to a skeleton of a human!
    I do wonder though are you gonna update your older theories like the humans and forerunner relations and how would finally solved the issue that could Satisfies both the group that wish the forerunners are humans and the group that is ok with the forerunner not being humans.
    There is also Bungie’d environment designer Paul Russell‘s own theory of this issue on twitter and here is what he says
    “Theory: We’re talking about evolutionary timescale. Precursors pick 3 out of 10 Sapiens and advance them as Forerunner. Millions of years go by. Forerunners evolve under Precursors perhaps differently than Sapiens alone. Not all humans are Forerunner, but all Forerunner are human.''
    Regardless though great video as always!

    Daily reminder that in Bungie’s canon Forerunners were definitively ancient humans. The ONLY outliers were the few things that Frank O’Conner had direct control over. EVERYTHING ELSE pointed to humans and Forerunners being one and the same. It was just kept vague as to whether or not we were literal Forerunners, or apes molded into Forerunners (the latter would’ve been the big reveal of Halo 2’s original ending. Truth’s plan also made perfect sense).

      there’s also the handprints in 2
      1 of them onboard cairo station (human) has 5 digits on one hand
      another in quarantine zone (forerunner) has 6 digits on one hand
      seems to indicate the builders of cairo station and the builders of the halo that quarantine zone is on are not the same. unless the forerunners when devolving themselves said “you know what? 6 is too many fingers per hand, life would by so much easier with just 5”

    • @3mpt7
      @3mpt7 8 місяців тому

      What outliers are those, and where did you get the information that apes were molded into Forerunners/Humans?
      Human ancestry diverged from apes and chimpanzees millions of years ago--millions of years before Halo was constructed. The entire fiasco is similar to the Stargate series with the Goa'uld and Ancients. The show was made in British Columbia, a stone's throw away from 343 Industries, and ran at the same time Bungie was making Halo.

    • @nihilityjoey
      @nihilityjoey 8 місяців тому

      @@3mpt7That's absolutely wrong. The ancients changed the evolution of certain species before they left for pegasus. One of those was early primate species on earth, which evolved to be us. The goa'uld simply came along and kidnapped humans ten thousand years ago and uses them as host/slave and warriors. Nothing at all halo concerning the evolutionary origins of humans.

    • @3mpt7
      @3mpt7 8 місяців тому +3

      @nihilityjoey Halo Contact Harvest. Written by Joseph Staten, the same person who wrote the cutscenes for CE, 2, and 3. The entire reason for the Human Covenant war was because humans were recognised by Mendicant Bias as the descendants of the Forerunners. Frank O'Connor changed this so that the Forerunners interfered with human genetics, and obliterated an ancient human civilization, keeping them as primitives and combat soldiers for thousands of years, and only a special gene allows access to Forerunner technology. Frank O'Connor's ripped off Stargate Atlantis wholesale.

    Not as well versed on the timeline, but it might have been that some of the Ancient Humans either found out about the Halo arrays, or came up with a similar theory (even if they were unable to execute it) for eliminating the Flood and ran for intergalactic space. Third option is that the Ancient Humans wanted an emergency backup population in case they lost to the Flood or the Forerunners. An ark ship launched into Slipspace early enough in the Human-Forerunner war would likely not even come up as a blip on the Forerunners proverbial radar. It could even have been that one of the Human colony/evacuation ships encountered a slipspace anomaly, and either got flung well outside the Halo's range, or even popped back into real space sometime after the Array was fired.
    And just to add one more tidbit of theory, some Forerunner might have also been in on the uplifting of devolved Humanity. Apparently there were some "fishlike" "gods" in both ancient Greek and certain African mythologies. In the case of the Greeks, they allegedy taught humans about metal working, and they crafted some of the tools of the early Greek gods. It seems to me that Forerunners kinda have a bit of the piscene to their features...

    Given that we first saw this planet in halo legends (as far as I’m aware that’s the first time it popped up), which was around when bungie still was in charge of the story and we know they originally planned for humanity to be the forerunners (which is eluded to countless times in the games and extended lore until 343 kinda threw all that out the window), it would make sense for this place to be an ancient home (possibly even the true original home world) of humanity. All this other stuff is just 343 trying to do their best to add mystery to it without retconning it. But honestly I’m interested to see if they pick up any of these mysterious dead ends like that of the “meddlers” as hydden likes to call it… I just really enjoy having a sense of cosmic horror/fear of the unknown in halo

    It does strike me that there is some crossover between Halo and Battlestar Galactica here. Both arguably have pantheons who could be ancient humans. If Kobol is a shield world that was abandoned by the Forerunners but reclaimed by ancient humanity, then humanity could've been preserved. It'd be different from how Earth's humans were preserved on the Ark. Perhaps the few remaining ancient humans nabbed some devolved humans while the Forerunners fought the Flood. The ancient humans could have acted as gods, of a sort, before sending Kobol's populace to a specially terraformed quartenary system, while the Thirteenth Tribe was sent to Earth.
    Wild thought, I know, but I like it.

    3 radii of the galactic center. Maybe with human slipspace tech it would take that long to move out of the way of the blast and come back. The galaxy is 100k light years across. If they were at the edge of the galaxy they'd need to travel at least 100k light years to avoid a lethal dose then travel back at least another 100k light years to get back to the edge. Ancient human ships would need to travel at least 2xlight speed. I don't know if that is quick in halo lore.
