The spores are a massive plot problem realistically speaking from a story telling perspective... where they sort of wrote themselves into a corner because the way they are described make it literally impossible to write the story. Spores cause several issues in continuity, with canon stories... which is why my head canon is that the spores are a last resort infection attempt, when all other means of infection have failed, they are released from the final infection form's corpse in the area once it is terminated. Then these spores slowly infect any near by living creature. Once the released spores from the prior "last" infection form, succeed in infecting a host, it's remains stop producing spores in favor of a preferred form of infection, like a combat, or infection form. It's 1:26 am so apologies if this is jumbled.
Ok something I dont understand, once the flood infection form infects a host, why doesnt it just leave? If spores and body fluids can infect people and turn them without an infection form then why do host die if an infection form dies? Like is this just a plot hole since they introduced spores? Flood combat forms that are infected by infection forms just seem weaker than those who were infected by other means since if the infection form dies so does the host. Doesnt make sense to me.
@@zachhowe98 I think technically spores, or other means of infection can't produce a active combat form by itself. It would first convert the host creatures flesh into flood biomass and then create infection forms from that, which it would then turn the remaining body into a combat form if necessary, being piloted by an infection form. If that^ Isn't how it works, then yes it's just another in the long list of flood spores cause plot holes and issues.

Every time I think if flood infection, I'm reminded the type of tests I'd like to run on them can never be done. I'm an aliens fan, and every time I think about the flood, I'm reminded of the perfect organism... The Xenomorph. And I'm reminded that it is not outclassed by this, rather shaped by it. The two are like combining viruses to make new deadly pathogens, a fusion of alien and flood. See, alien prototype the audio book to see why I think they would be able to... Sort of fuse together. A host infected with both would be a interesting comic book plot point, better I think than say what marvel just did. And unlike the avengers, the resulting alien would steal powers from the flood. The combined result is something I think could catch the eye of a couple viewers... It may be worth doing a video on the possibility of these two meeting, and what might result of a host being infected by both, where the alien embryo is free to steal flood DNA without becoming flood, via the black goo, the pathogen... It's something I'd like the communities of both franchises to process, and run their mind thru until they see what I do... Crossover potential, and something we all can bring to life. A chance to rebuild what 343 destroyed. To rebuild or community from the ashes, joining hands with another community, one that gave birth to halo in many ways... Aliens fans and halo fans don't always seem to both know about each other... It's time that changed
The alien franchise is regrowing itself, our predecessor has returned... And this means there will be plenty of ultimate badasses, ready to come over and again fight the war for humanities freedom. Rebuild halo, by having a bit of fun with another similar franchise... One not unlike it... Brothers, at last!
You have a great voice for this kind of stuff. Who else thinks he should do readings of the halo books? I would pay to listen to you read them like audible. Great work mate.

A flood horror game would be better than dead space
I feel like the necromorphs are heavily inspired by the flood.
Eh personally I like both series. Necromorphs (the brethren moons more accurately) are a lot more lovecraftian while the flood are more "down to earth" so to speak. At least this is for the early stages. In later stages they become powerful enough to manipulate reality itself. Now that's an utterly terrifying and godlike enemy to face.
Necromorphs: We have a hivemind
Flood be like hold my keymind
@@VolcanicTsunami "hivemind" is a massive understatement, they become entire moons with telepathic capabilities.
@@Verystoic in theory a brethren moon could drive a gravemind/key mind insane
Was thinking about this video and spent a few hours looking for this video. This was an amazing story.
Dude this was terrifying. 10/10
You did a really good job with that, excellent work.
That opening narrative was such a good horror story. I’d definitely listen to a long-form flood horror story by you
This is brilliant. Amazing video. Id love to hear more!
Fantastic job my man, did a great job really setting the scene, hope there are more of these at some point!
Damn! that was one heck of an ASMR.... I think I need therapy now
Damn, that beginning is legendary
Awesome! That was so good, thank you so much for doing this. I really hope 343 brings them back.
Of course I still have questions. But I'm satisfied for now. Again thank you for this!
That narrative is horrifying and really shows the horror of the flood
That first part could be an epic creepypasta
Man, I love your voice 💕💕💕💕
Its so good and literally listening to this with my eyes closed I felt like that marine, can we please get more of your narration plz
I’ll do this later tonight for the absolute spook
Player: "may peace be with you."
Keymind: "Always"
Its terrifying the implications that the flood take your very soul. There is no escape even in death.
04:38 - “He’s just standing there… MENACINGLY”
come back to just listen to the opening monologue... shits just too good man.
This is amazing l, only had enough time for 4 minutes sadly, cannot wait to watch latter!
"Living" through a flood infection is probably more accurate to what this should have been named.
Such a haunting introduction. If I could mod/animate Id make this a fan cutscene
I know its late but this "Asmr" story style in the beginning is just amazing would love to see more of that
PERFECT timing on this video, homie.
As amazing as this video was in terms of lore content, I'm probably going to have nightmares after watching this. Seriously though, great video!
I'd like to see halo have nanites developed as a way to fight flood, but only if given in seconds after infection given speed of infection
The pin is mightier than the sword and the flood makes that very clear to you that knowledge is power
I think you should do another one of this in the summer time. Would be a great scary story to listen too
And I had to listen to this after replaying the library and guilty spark from CE. Talk about timing.
What's scary is that something like the flood could exist. Space is so massive and im sure they do exist, it's just that we haven't encountered them yet.. I hope I'm gone before we encounter that species.
What if they ARE real, and they are the reason for the Dark Forest Theory?
i like to play you videos while i do math hw and when i heard the introduction i was very confused because i thought that was the whole video. very well done
Man that intro really scared me
That was an INCREDIBLE intro!!!!!
Everyone before Infinite: I hope the Flood will show up
Infinite: (gets a Teen rating)
Everyone after Infinite: They "are" in the game technically
Me: It's a texture file in a hidden area. Wowee.
That introduction was crazy. Good video
They should make a game similar to that Alien vs Predator game from ages back; except you get to play as; Spartans/ODSTs, Sanghelli or flood.
Great video, especially the opening. Really grabbed me. Thanks!
That intro story was legit!
You have a great voice for this kind of stuff. Who else thinks he should do readings of the halo books? I would pay to listen to you read them like audible. Great work mate.
That was amazing. Thank you so much for your videos
Listening to this in the dark hits different
Ooo spooky Flood Halloween story!
