- Hey everyone, so in this video I'll be installing a Great Day - Lawn Pro Hi-Hitch on my John Deere riding mower. This hitch is very sturdy. I'm 250 lbs and can stand on this hitch without any issues. You can install this on most riding mowers. It's pretty easy. You will need to purchase a hitch ball separately.

I had the same on my John Deere LA130. Really expanded my use of the Mower. Now purchasing the same for my Cub Cadet XT1.
Yeah its a good one.
I think I’ll put those two braces on the mower first 🤔
Ok.
I'm thinking of adding this to my JD to move a log splitter around my yard.
Yeah that would def work. This think is sturdy.
Rule number one when assembling anything: Don't tighten anything until you have completely assembled the kit. Rule number two: Do not use a crescent wrench unless absolutely necessary.
Okay.
Great video! Thank you!
Glad you liked it!
Seen simular setup on other garden tractor, the bottom of rear tractor plate flexed from weight and cracked. He replaced bolts hardware with grade 5 instead of the grade 3 provided. Made gusts for all areas bolts went through to prevent rip out. Last used angle iron under rear tractor plate to reinforce bottom edge.
Great tip!
It looks way too high for a utility trailer or boat. Of course you’re demonstration was on a chicken tent?! Oh well, I gave you a like anyway.
Will a 2-5/16” ball threads fit down through the hole? They have a bigger threaded shaft then 2”.
I haven't tried, but I don't see why not. Those balls are less than $10, so give it a try.
What model is your JD?
These hitches are on sale a Tractor Supply on-line only. Free delivery to stores. $39.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve already determined that I’ll need to drill the hole larger. I’ll need to take it to a machine shop as I don’t have a drill bit anywhere near that big. Thanks again!
Yeah I just looked into it. The hole will definitely have to be bigger.
I think it would have gone a lot easier on that 2nd one had you loosen up the brackets more
Cool. If I only I had a time machine.
what are the handles on the back on each side of the seat used for?
A good time if you know what I mean.. They're not handles. They're pins for trailers.
Just curious, whats in your rear cargo mounts? Looks like handlebars maybe?
Those are just hitch pins. I put them there so they don't drag in the mud.
@@NicholsCounty ohhh okay 👍
What do you think the weight handling of this setup would be
I'm 250lbs and I got on it with both feet and jumped up and down and it didn't budge. I've only ever had about 500lbs in my trailer and it pulled just fine.
thanks man.. just purchased, this vid will be helpful if anything arises
Hope you enjoy it!
@@NicholsCounty went on without a hitch ;) ... had to drill a hole because the bagging system takes up the rt side slot... not a big issue... seem pretty stout. looking forward to trying it out
Wonder if you could tie a push mower and attach like that?
I'm not sure what you're asking.
@@NicholsCounty You tied the barn up and attached to the hitch. I wonder if you could tie a push mower to the hitch the same way.
Great video, how much weight do you think this modification will hold. Can you stand on it and it still feel sturdy. Looking to by thus to haul around my bbq pit.
I was able to stand on it and sway pretty hard without it budging. I'm about 250 lbs, so I think its sturdy enough for a bbq pit.
You think it would handle a 5x7 trailer work light duty
we don't need to see every turn of your wrenches....speed up the video. We get it, you wont lose us if you do that!
Thanks for the feedback.
