It never happened in the films or tv series. 3) They sense vibrations with the things they move with, which are more like small legs than spikes. I have seen these before in a documentary about ground tremors, they were largely responsible for seismic tremors had in areas exactly as you describe! there was a town that was being overrun by them & even killed some of the townsfolk there! I ALWAYS remain of pavement surfaces now after seeing that documentary.
