Great video again Ritchie. I have done this mod and fitted Spiegeler braided brake lines on my SP and the brakes are briliiant now. Much better feel and stopping power. I also have Brembo SA compound pads 👍
adrian vac ordered spiegler non abs brake lines, now waiting for my brembo mc 19x18 to install them all at once. I just hope not to block the front on hard braking...
Great vids but, please do a test ride and review after all that work so we can hear your feedback on how much of an improvement the mod has made. We getting all the foreplay but no satisfaction lol ;)
Hi Richie, I heard that once you bleed and refill the brakes, in some cases, the ABS icon lights up even after you go past 10kph. Reading through the MT-10 service manual, it states that you need to hook up the bike to the Yamaha Diagnostic Tool and run the Hydraulic Unit Operation Test: this test comprises of two methods: 1) Brake Line Routing Confirmation: this test checks the function of the ABS after the system was disassembled, adjusted, or serviced. 2) ABS Reaction-Force Confirmation: this test generates the same reaction-force pulsating action that is generated in the brake lever and brake pedal when ABS is activated. Did you run the Hydraulic Unit Operation Test? If so, can you shed more light into this?
Hi Ritchie.. great videos - been using them as a guide and have done the pads and AIS block using ur howto. I have the Gilles front levers on my MT and Stoltec reckon they won’t fit the R1 master cyclinder - any thoughts?
Kal , thanks for stopping by and for your kind words . 👍 I’m glad my guides have helped you with your bike . Sadly yes Stoltec is correct. I had to change the lever perch on my “MT “ brake lever to a R1 perch but managed to retain my Mt lever. If you flick thru to around the mid of this video,I’ve explained what I did there. Also if u wish to retain your cruise control , I just wrapped a bit of electrical tape around the small arm that pushes on the cruise switch....
Richies Bikes Cheers... I’ll watch that section again and take a closer look and then make a decision. Lovin the M135i too.. had one myself, straight 6 all the way 👍🏻
Great video thanx , I also did it after watching your video , in my application there was a minor issue , after installing all the parts front calipers didnt retract fully because of an un known issue. Lever seemed to press the brake piston more than intended ,maybe its ok for an r1 brake system but showed up as a problem .. I solved it by grinding the sensor side of the lever which halped to maintain more room for the brake master piston ..
Hey champ. Awesome videos. Loving all of them. Keep it up. Any chance you could do "how to" videos on maintenance/service items. Like how to change your spark plug, how to adjust your break levers. How to change oil and so on. Whatever the manual has in it you could do a video for it.
mmunoz 83 , thanks for stopping by. The braided line fit up is massive task. About 2.5 hour of Video alone. Plus not to mention, the possible legal issues arising from messing with brakes . A lot of guys are having the lines fitted up at the dealer as the dealer can properly bleed the abs pump also..
Yunus Oksuz , I’ve had the braided lines fitted a while now , filming it was a total pain in the ..... however should u have any questions, give me a shout.!
@@RichieIsf I wonder how was brake feeling before install braided lines ? I'll start upgrade from pads, then mc, then lines. There are many posts on forums about pads. They said pads change gets very improvement. Do you agree with that ?
yes, my cruise control works, but not without a small mod to the lever perch on the underside of the lever. the brake switch should click just as you press it and again as ur squeeze it ..
A bit late to the party but the cruise control off switch on the brakes (i assume that is what you meant) is linked to the brake light, so any mods to the brakes you have done to other bikes will work on the MT-10 as well, granted that the brake lights worked as normal on your previous bike(s). When your brake light switches on, your cruise control turns off.

So do you HAVE to change the lines as well? Or can you just retro-fit a r1 cylinder?
Hello Ritchie, can you please tell us what's the year or the part number for the R1 Master Cylinder?
Ничего не понял , но очень интересно . Было бы не плохо чтоб и наши ребята делали такие видео . Буду катать первый сезон на мт 10 SP .
I have a 2018 R1 and the braking is horrible, gets spongy real quick, iam not sure if it’s defective because iam surprised you actually liked them..

Thanks for the video! Swapped mine last week while using your video!
Is that an M135i mate you have excellent taste!
Yeah mate , absolutely love it . Little beast of a car.

were was the perch from ,did you buy some cheap levers for r1 then remove the perch ?
Hi Richie. Any chance you are going to post the video of you also doing the Spiegler line change?

looks really really good.. would've loved to see this on Aussie roads..
did the changes improve the performance of the braking?
BAD yamaha MT10 , yeah big time !!
No more spongy lever..!!
@@RichieIsf hi... what's the diff between the masters.. as you highlighted 15mm bore vs 15.8 with r1 surely 0.8 mm extra won't transform them
No problem for Cruise control??
where did you buy those levers?
It fits with stock brake lines ?
hello Richie, when do you upload braided lines installation part ?

Axial master on a MT10? Why is Yamaha so cheap on this?
Where did you get the lever's?
What's the difference between the masters. You said 15mm bore vs the r1 15.8mm surely 0.8 mm won't make much difference... is std brake a radial mc
cruise control system work or not ?

Works flawlesly ..I grinded the other parts of the lever where doesnt touch the sensor .Thanx to Richie..

Me pueden pasar el link de páginas donde pueda comprar accesorios para mi mt10???
Brau, you got skill are you a Yamaha tech?
I'm a fan if some of your other vids but this was a bit of a painful watch for the most part. Love the term "Bracketary" though.
Chris , keen for your feedback bud, esp the “painful watch“ as u put it .?
By the way not only is brake fluid bad for your paint it's also bad for your hands!
